D. B.Came for Christmas day lunch and was delicious. Restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly and drinks service asked within 5 minutes. Food arrived quickly for the three courses and was piping hot and delicious. Staff were superb, courteous, quick and attentive. Would highly recommend the Xmas day experience at harvester.
d.Great restaurant to visit once in a while.
The breaded mushrooms were great as a snack, the burger was very good too. In total a solid 8/10.
Prices are quite on the high end I would say, but the quality of the food compensated with the price.

As a family we love the salad bar. However it looked poorly rotated with minimal food present. The server had to get extra food from the back as it hadn't been restocked.
I appreciate that we attended quite late in the evening but this was a big oversight. Especially as the rest of the service was so good.

G. M.A very good breakfast. Plenty of it good and quality. We'll cooked a swiftly served. Only issue was the heat, which they can't do anything about and getting milk for my coffee in a glass, which they can do something about.
B. R.Been Today as a Post Celebration Meal. Amazing Service, Rather Quick. Food was very Nice. The only complaint i have preventing a 5 star review is the ongoing covid restrictions around the Salad Bar. I honestly find it quite shocking that while the whole world has begun to move on from the pandemic, this chain of restaurants is staying to procedures. I don't quite understand why we cannot make-up our own salads still, it would move much faster rather than letting a queue of people build up and putting pressure on one member of staff to make them all if we could just make them ourselves.
D. S.I had the purest burger and traditional wet fries, plus onion rings. It was odd to have someone dish up my salad for me.
Friendly, attentive and gorgeous food. They clearly value the custom of vegans and veggies rather than tolerate us. 5*’s for Amber and the team from me.
T. M.I've eaten here twice in the last 4 weeks. Once with friend, once with family and both times it's been amazing. Food is great, prices are good and the staff are always friendly although they are rushed off their feet. Would highly recommend :) The only negative is they havnt always got everything on the menu but you cant do anything about supply issues.

I had the nachos as a a starter, which was a bit cold but was edible, the salad bar which was somewhat limited in its variety and the chicken burger which was good.
The staff were definitely the strongest point of the place.
J. S.The front of house manager was great and really gracious with sorting out one issue with our food, one issue on a table of 14 happens sometimes and I was satisfied with how it was dealt with. I would recommend not ordering "the pitmaster" as it was much smaller than I expected for a main meal that was over £20 at a chain I normally associate with value for money, otherwise was a really good experience here and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere
N. R.It was quite empty being a Wednesday night, sold out of a number of items and a broken ice cream machine. Service was great despite our server being new and in training. Disappointing pudding as we were expecting to be able to be able to order all items with vegan ice cream instead of dairy since the machine wasn't working but apparently not possible since it is more expensive. Poor show really as not even possible if you would pay more for it, Harvester should really just suck up the cost in situations like this to keep the customer happy.
G. R.Made a reservation, wasn't busy but took 25 mins to get drinks, 1 hour to get food. 4 of us ordered steaks as they had no chicken available, which unfortunately were inedible. Was just fat, couldn't get your knife through. The waitress was kind enough to not charge for the steaks and explain they had issues with the supplier. Disappointing experience.

The restaurant was clean and bright though so was a good place for a family meal.

Their menu has recently changed which has improved on their food selection hugely.

S. S.The service staff were very good polite and friendly. But we were not made aware of drink refills or salad bar. Also the servings were a bit small and some items were over cooked . The waitress understood and took it straight back but was told by the chef that how it's ment to be but it was over cooked the waitress was great and put discount off the bill straight away and seemed a little embarrassed buy the chef .

A. C.Well, what an exciting evening.
We ordered of the festive menus me my wife and my daughter and enjoyed every part of it. However the only downside to the meal and atmosphere was the fact the only had one chef! So a quick evening dash to the harvester took 2 and a half hours! I'm leaving a 4 star here with the intention of leaving 5. However if we ever come again and face similar issues I will have to mark you all down again!
Happy eating everyone and we recommended the Nene valley Harvester regardless of the wait time.
M. H.I have been here a few times and each time the staff have been lovely and the food delicious. Both the breakfast menu and lunch time menu are really good value and plentiful. I would highly recommend a trip here.

Staff were good, real ale was freezing, like a superchilled lager. Salad bar disappointing, no self service and served in warm bowls. Had to eat with a coat on because of a cold draught blowing through. Food quality ok, I had chicken triple combo, I wouldn't rush back.
R. F.Came here to eat after went somewhere else with no gluten-free options but Harvester hadn't had a delivery of their gluten free options either. Had a basic breakfast with no toast or sausages as couldn't eat them but they said no to adding extra anything on to make up for it. If I'd wanted replacements I needed to order a more expensive breakfast to have the option. The food I did eat was nice enough and my husband recommends the breakfast waffle but basically no good if you're gluten intolerant as you can't be sure they'll have any options in.

A brilliant turn around. We were served by Millie who was polite, friendly, fun and nothing was too much trouble for her, even when we customised the meal outside of the menu scope.
The food was cooked very well, but my burger, even with my full belly I am drooling thinking about it. this is easy top 5 places place in Northampton for a burger.
If you go here, ask for Millie, you won't be disappointed!

I was with my friend and there where only two other customers so it wasn't busy. We had our dinner and a couple of times I had to get someone as we had no cutlery. Then again to order dessert. They bought the desserts out but failed to collect are dirty main plates first. Its a shame the waitresses let themselves down apart from that we enjoyed.

The service can be a bit hit or miss this time we had a lovely trainee lady who was very helpful and attentive, but have witnessed in the past other staff rolling their eyes when stopped and asked for something last time my husband had to ask several times for a glass of water to a response of I haven't forgotten, not great. It it pricey though we paid £9.50 for two bottles of alcohol free cider apart from that nice visit.

We had booked in advance and our welcome into the restaurant was seamless. The food was very well cooked and served piping hot. Also, really impressed with the manager a lovely lady called Cat. She arranged for our birthday cake to be presented at our table and took the time to make our party special. Such attention to detail. We were greeted by an excellent front of house who couldn't have been more welcoming. Salad bar was limited as per the current situation, but still enough to choose from including the rolls! Main course was fantastic, cooked to perfection and plenty of it. 3 hours on and I still can move! Fantastico!

R.The food was great, however the whole salad bar situation makes 0 sense, you walk up to the salad bar and a staff member puts the salad in the bowl for you, I expect this is due to covid however theres no logic to it because if you have a staff member going to put the salad in the bowl for you then this just increases the chance of spreading covid, imagine if a staff member has covid & they are touching all the bowls which the food goes in then spreading covid onto all your diners, it would make more sense to have 2 people go up at a time, besides covid guidelines are no longer in place so it should be back to normal where people can go up and help themselves.
I. B.My elderly mother, my wife and I love Harvester, especially their, salad bar, unfortunately, they sold our local branch so we drive to Riverside as our closest branch. We couldn't have been more pleased, superb food, a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. Only negative is that this restaurant is situated on a retail park so parking was very difficult. Especially with a disabled mother - their isn't enough disabled parking places. It would not stop us revisiting though
s. h.Been to this branch of Harvester on and off for a few years now. I have to say it's never been a good experience despite staff and management changes ,in fact in some instances it became worse.
Visited the other day for lunch not expecting much but was surprised to find it has improved a great deal in all things .Decor had been done up ,staff are friendly and helpful,food is served hot and promptly (last time my meal sat on the chefs counter so long I had to go and get it myself).
So well done Harvester Riverside. Keep it up.

N. H.Unfortunately on this occasion I can't give it much more than a 3* food was mediocre okay not great, we ordered if the specials menu ( which we had done before and had a Fab meal)
We took opportunity to the offer of wine which we were ultimately charged additional for as the waitress gave us the wrong wine. When I questioned before we opened the wine she said yeah that's the one in the offer!!!
Service was slow even though the restaurant was not overly busy but that may be due to the fact they decided it was a good idea to move a piece of furniture to retrieve an item which a semi drunken table had thrown behind it and the furniture collapsed.
Come on Harvester you can do much better than that!!!!!!!!
M. A.The food was really good when we went on a friday evening. The staff were friendly and helpful but busy so sometimes it was hard to get service. My issue was with all the bright lights, I suffer with migraines and the lights reflecting off the metallic surfaces gave me a migraine. It was so bright I wore my sunglasses and could see perfectly well inside on a dark friday night!

The hot food was pretty good but dropping stars for their 'continental' side of the breakfast, there were cereals and fruit but not what I would consider to be continental (cold meats, cheeses, pastries). Its possible that I just missed them and they nomally have them but I was mainly hoping for pastries.
Well priced for what is included though. Clean, quiet and nice atmosphere inside.

G. H.Nice modern decor, friendly staff. Boho vegetarian burger is out of this world. One of the best I have had in a long time. My son had the King burger which also gets double thumbs up.
J. R.Accommodated us as a large group (13) have plenty of highchairs too. Very up to date and clean. Fast service and allowed us to bring our own birthday cake. Relatively cheap and you can also order for takeaway buy they do not deliver.
B.My overall experience was good but there were a few things that meant this is a 4 star rather than a 5 star review.
Firstly, I am anxious around food, especially cold food, and the tongs in the lettuce bowl at the salad bar (the only thing I could have at the salad bar was the lettuce and the bread) had mayonnaise or coleslaw on it. I used a spoon instead to put the lettuce in my bowl but it still gave me enough anxiety to check every leaf of lettuce.
Secondly, the knife I got wasn't really clean. There was crusty stuff on it and it just seemed really dirty. I asked for a new one, which was fine.
Our waiter was Oli who was good and friendly, and none of our order (there were 6 of us) was wrong or missing.
I had the vegetarian tagine thing with mashed potato. It didn't look like a lot of food but it did fill me up. I also had a black coffee with soya milk which was good too.
Overall a good experience.

T. H.The restaurant on the whole is pleasant but is looking tired and in need of some TLC. It was not overly busy upon arrival at around 5pm and there appeared to be plenty of available tables, and the waitress seated us in a corner near the windows. However some of the ceiling lights were not working, some were missing and 1 was continually flashing on and off, which meant we were in semi darkness for most of the visit. The toilets are also in need of decorating and some repairs to fixtures & fittings.
We ordered a meal, got drinks and were invited to help ourselves to salad from the salad bar. However upon returning to our table it had been cleared of our drinks and cutlery as if we didn't exist. Although an apology was given & the drinks etc were replaced it did make us feel unwelcome. The food was the saving grace as it was enjoyable and we'll presented.
P. P.Had lunch here and was very pleased. They had a good selection of vegetarian meals which were lovely. I booked ahead informing them one of my party was a wheelchair user and they'd taken that into account when seating us. Staff were nice and friendly, very impressed.

M. A.Note ! this does open on Saturday at 8:00 on a Saturday as per the website but somewhere closer to after 9:00. Been this morning and think it's going downhill a bit. No mushrooms was disappointing as we were probably the second people in. Also dirty cutlery & bowls and fruit juice being served out of cartons.. Also what appears to be a shortage of staff means you need to wait a while to pay!. But the food was hot and exactly what I ordered so I guess you can't really complain too much for the price. However we are already considering going elsewhere.
M.food was average the salad bar wasn't very fresh out and the rolls were gone bad as they had been out so long, will try again one more time and give them another chance incase it was just a bad time to be there. the service was excellent!

No breads, pastries, or cold meats, no bananas, oranges or apples. At the very least I would have expected croissants or pain au chocolate as it claims to be continental.
