Very nice restaurant. An upgrade from buddies which used to be there. The foods delicious and it’s worth the money. A good variety of drinks too

Recently refurbished famous Northampton pub (The North Star as was). Lovely home made food and great service. Local Phipps beers on tap. Definitely coming back. Pictures are of a lovely lasagne with chips and salad and a home made chicken and bacon pie with mash etc.

It was a quiet restaurant for a Saturday afternoon however we really enjoyed our lunch here. It offers good quality food at reasonable prices and very friendly service. We were there to celebrate a special occasion and they did make us feel special with a little added touch to our yummy Eton Mess. Thank you :)

We like the Sunday lunch here and staff are really friendly. Only disappointment was family facing us didn't know how to eat properly. Were using their fingers rather than cutlery...most off putting to be honest. There were other unruly children as well. Not sure what could be done..sign of the times I guess but certainly has put us off going on a Sunday again

Very friendly staff. The food is all home-cooked and piping hot when you get it. Been on many occasions to this pub and never once has our family ever had a complaint about the food. There’s usually 10 or 12 of us that go each time spending £250 and it is absolutely excellent.

The service is great, however the food isn't the best in my opinion. Went here for my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary last year and it had a lovely atmosphere. The food was alright but in general it weren't to bad. 6/10

Been here loads with friends.today had eggs ham and supposed to be chips.as didn't like the pie of day I wanted it was lamb.i didn't like.so anyway the supposedly chips.were potatòe wedges .so I never ate them all.if chips are on menu.i expect chips.not wedges with skin on.will be going elsewhere foreseeable.unless you go back to chips.as stated on menu.and prices on website are still old rates.not on menu put in front of you.bit crafty really.please check prices.on website to prices on menu on tables.

Went there for my son's birthday meal, the food ,in the main was ok, if a little overpriced for what you got. Generally the portion sizes were good apart from the fish which was very small. The service was ok if a bit slow for 5pm on a Saturday when the place was virtually empty. Will go back I just won't be having the fish and chips.

An amazing find, the menu is fresh and features alot of home made dishes. My wife tried the lasagne and loved it. The homemade biscoff cheesecake was worth the visit in itself. The staff are very welcoming and can't do enough to help. The prices were alot cheaper than you would expect for the quality. Overall a great place to eat or for a pint and definately worth a little detour for.

First time of visiting, very friendly staff although sometimes not very confident, consequently service was not 100%. Food was excellent as was presentation. Arrived at 3pm for Sunday Lunch. Table for 5 people. We were given a very spacious table in the corner of the restaurant overlooking the outside dining space (which was empty due to the threat of rain). Staff were very friendly and upbeat. All of our food was lovely, meat dishes and vegetarian. Starters were spot on. Mains were generous as plated but we asked for more veg which came straight away. Nice ice-creams to finish. Drinks were a bit pricey, especially soft drinks for the drivers, but that seems to be the norm these days. Overall a very nice eating out experience, hence the 5 stars.

Enjoyed a delicious and very filling Sunday lunch here today, the portions are big, you certainly get your money's worth! Daughter had scampi and chunky chips and the portion again was a good size. Dessert clearly homemade and o.m.g delicious!! Great selection of drinks. Spotted a couple of well behaved dogs inside and out too which, personally, I liked to see, just a lovely homely thing I think. Staff cannot be friendlier or do enough for you without a smile. Looks lovely inside, good ambiance, very nice decor. Will definitely be coming back!!!

What a lovely place, I'd never been here before or even heard of it till my visit. Visited on a Sunday morning for a breakfast catchup with a friend. The food was great, the staff were superb and the restaurant was neat, clean and tidy. Will definitely visit again.

Went for Sunday lunch booked a table for 12.30 nice and empty when we got there , by 1pm the place was full, ordered our food and with in 5 min the food was on the table , couldn’t believe how quick the service was, a table of 6 next to us had the same speedy service , had beef for dinner and it was melt in your mouth. Two of us had a starter main and pudding , drinks and coffees , staff where fast efficient and so polite , highly recommended going there but do book of you don’t want to be disappointed.

Hi everybody, I booked a table for four adults to be seated at 12.45 Sunday lunch / roast dinner today . Arrived just before , but had a warm welcome by the staff which always goes down well. The lady showed us to a table which was situated near a large window and the sunshine was beaming down and it felt warm . Before sitting down we asked if we could sit somewhere else and she pleasantly obliged . Our drinks order was taken and menus given. Drinks arrived quickly and all was good . We soon ordered our Sunday roast 2no roast beef and 2no lamb shanks. Believe it or not our meals arrived about 5-10 mins later , the quickest ever in my experiences of eating out. I’m telling you now everything was spot on , delicious. I can’t fault anything, compliments to all concerned Thanks for making it a lovely special Sunday lunchtime Cheers Hope to come again soon

We have been to the olde cobbler on a number of occasions and thoroughly enjoyed our meals the staff go out there way to help...but yesterday taking friend's we were.nt impressed .One issue was the change in the chips I.ve raved about how hot the chips are and yesterday they were different chips and not hot....different staff unsure on answers to our questions regarding meal.And no follow up as to whether we enjoyed it .Thanku but I will b back.....love the environment!!!

My husband and I went with 2 friends sat lunchtime. The lasagna was absolutely lovely the salad let it down. It comes with side salad and chips. As I don’t eat chips I just had the salad. Everywhere else I have been give you extra salad if you don’t have the chips but it came in a tiny bowl 6 leaves of little gem lettuce and a half of tomato minus the middle. I asked waitress if they had any cucumber or red onion or peppers and she said no. I will def have lasagna again but will take my own salad.
