Nice atmosphere and nice decor with relaxing lighting for an evening meal, however, the food was only really mediocre at best - and what you'd generally expect from a chain pub. It was tasty nonetheless, and both food and drinks arrived quickly, with a friendly service. Wouldn't say the mains were quite worth the price, and the desert was certainly overpriced for what we received, and not at all as advertised on the menu... that cookie s'more was £5.49! 😦 Otherwise a nice meal and would recommend for a laid back evening 👍🏻

From the moment I entered early in the afternoon I was greeted with warmth and kindness. As a lone female traveller this was really reassuring. Fabulous and attentive team, nothing is too much trouble. Yes the decor is tired, yes the food is as you would expect but oh my the whole team care, which is rarely my experience as a regular business traveller. This has been my experience in the restaurant and in the hotel, and from the whole team. Thank you 😊

The barman was lovely, We personally didn't have anything to eat this time, there were a handful of tables eating .my partner and myself chose just to have a drink, there was an awful smell of grease/fat in the air, maybe the cooker hood filters needed changing, or the fat for frying etc was just old? We had to move away from the bar in the end which was better, but still awful because smell was still heavy and "off puting" in the air. It didn't seem cosy like it once had, decor needs patching in parts, and dusty in others.we sat watching, the waiting staff who were still very attentive to their customers .a pat on the back for your lovely staff , its a shame whitbread, this site deserves better

Had a wonderful night out with my partner for dinner at The Nelson in Norwich. Brilliantly cooked food, such friendly staff along with a great laid back atmosphere. Choice of dishes would suit any palate. Well done to the Manager and his lovely friendly staff. A great night, thank you.

Nice atmosphere, however the service was quite slow. The food was good but not the best. 7/10

I would have given this a 1 star if it wasn't for the staff. The place is seriously understaffed and wait times are ridiculous. The staff that are there are very polite and accommodating but running around like headless chickens. If it wasn't for their attitude this would be a 1 star but that would not reflect the staff. TABKE TABLE SORT YOURSELF OUT AND HELP THE STAFF

Rooms are basic but tidy. There's a pay car park on site. Meal deal for dinner and breakfast is value for money.
