Sunday Lunch at Ashmores is always good - delicious home-cooked meals without the washing up. Proper food made with love and care, and quality ingredients. I've been to this family-run restaurant numerous times and it's always a lovely experience; from the warm greeting when you walk through the door until you say goodbye, and they make an amazing Sunday roast! The goats-cheese & pumpkin soup starter looked and tasted scrumptious. The roast beef was cooked perfectly - super tender, served with a generous helping of all the trimmings and the baked vanilla cheesecake & profiterole desserts were seriously delicious. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. It's a real all-rounder. My Mum already booked a return visit to celebrate a 'big' birthday in December.

At Ashmore's for a Christmas meal with friends. The Christmas turkey was really good for a dish which is difficult for restaurants to do well. The starter and dessert complimented the meal well. Worth the trip

Have been several times with friends and always enjoyed the evening. Tonight was a specialist French evening and the food was excellent - I had pork in calves and the others had the duck in a cherry sauce. Service was excellent without being obtrusive and the price was very reasonable.

This is a resteraunt we have been going to for several years and never once been disappointed. We have been twice since the lockdown for Sunday lunch and in our opinion the food is excellent as before. The family and staff are very helpful and obliging. Amazing, blown away by the service and attentiveness of the staff. All of the food was delicious and hot all delivered to our 5 tables seemlessly and impeccably. Can't fault the team. We enjoyed a delicious meal with friends yesterday evening. The menu was varied with some interesting choices - not just your standard fare. The service was very friendly and efficient. I do enjoy having a tablecloth and vegetables served in dishes! Nothing too much trouble. Would recommend.

This is a family run business. They produce fine cuisine at very reasonable prices. You are guaranteed a warm welcome and excellent service. I have been there many times and will continue to do so. They are wonderful at laying on private parties. Nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend them wholeheartedly and frequently do.

This is an excellent family run business. Food cooked on the premises freshly every meal Very good choice from fresh fish to tenderly cooked meat and vegetarian dishes.All the staff are friendly and helpful. We choose this restaurant frequently both with family and friends.

My partner and I travel up from Reading to visit relatives and always enjoy eating here. Interesting menus and affordable food you cannot go wrong. Lovely staff also make it a welcome place to eat and drink with friends and family. I will always recommend

This is a really difficult one. The setting is really nice, the waitresses are lovely and very attentive, however, the food is mediocre, the portions are small and the waiting staff appear to be 'influenced' by the management '. Not their true ethos
