It ok for a midweek lazy dinner, fairly average food, sometimes its great, sometimes its bad but usually its just alright, keep going back so can't be that bad. The specials are huge, make sure your hungry as I wasn't expecting so much food! Worth a stop if your local and hungry. Staff are always friendly and although always seems to be understaffed they are always trying their best to please everyone.

Went with my partner,the food was excellent, brilliant prices and very fast service. The waiting staff couldn't do enough for us was friendly and polite and was very smartly dressed. The only little downfall was the assistant manager who was being rude and unfriendly barking orders to the rest of the staff but apart from then we had a lovely meal and a good time.

Excellent Steaks! Really meat option at the Brinkley Lodge. The staff we're friendly and helped with our food selection. My rump steak was cooked to perfection, with really good portions on the sides. Great atmosphere inside or at the outside seating.

Nice food at good price. Drinks are quite expensive. Staff are friendly to customers, but have noticed they quarrel between themselves in front of customers. Always nice and clean. Have noticed outside the air conditioning unit leaks water and children have been playing in it. Overall, really nice place.

I can't fault my experience at Brinsley Lodge, I had a steak and it was cooked to my liking. One thing I really liked was that you had a choice of potato options- I didn't feel like I was being particularly awkward ordering potatoes rather than chips with my steak. The atmosphere was nice as were the staff. It was reasonably priced, I'd say there's something for everyone's budget and taste on the menu. I'd definitely go again.

Pre booked a table for 8, on arrival couldn't find the booking but quickly rearranged some tables to accommodate the party. Food was good but 2 guests had a little longer to wait, forgot to bring a steak knife for 1 meal, servers very pleasant and apologetic, it appeared to be a busy time and not many staff, on the whole they did their best and it was an enjoyable meal, would go again.

Nice food in this place they do a three course meal on a Tuesday from 12oclock till 2pm the cost of the meal on Tuesday is £7.99p they are now starting there Christmas meals there is a good offer at the place for your Christmas meal on a Wednesday time is between 12pm till 2pm you will need to book the cost is £12 50p for a three course meal the date is 14th December 12pm till 2pm

Updated review, previously 3 star. Now 5 star. I can't fault the service or the food so 5 stars. A varied menu, in fact, multiple menus, and what they do they do very well, and no skimping on the portions either. Steaks are especially good value for money. Recently nicely refurbished during lockdown for a fresh look. Staff are very friendly and you can have a laugh with them. Ample parking and a good outdoor area. Well worth your visit.

Came to Brinsley Lodge on a Friday evening, it was quite busy however we managed to get a table. The staff were lovely, and couldn't do enough to help. Brinsley Lodge is set on 2 floors, and we ate upstairs which was quieter. The meal was lovely (if not a bit large for me, my partner cleared his plate because he couldn't stop eating the chips lol).. Good quality for money. Very good portion size. Excellant staff. There's disabled access and plenty of parking. Seating outside with lights for at night. We shall definitely go again

I was really skeptical about coming here and had been dreading it for a week due to a past reputation. However, I was blown away by great service and delicious food, if you want an awesome steak at a great price this is the place to come. The staff are really friendly and accomodating and there is plenty of space to park given the remote location. I highly recommend anyone local head here for a meal!

Follow up from original review below. It seems to have been refurbished and maybe new management but this time they were organised and the food was very good and piping hot. Not very busy which probably helped with the level of service and quality of the food. In current times, the pricing reflects this with soft drinks being massively overpriced. A large pineapple juice with half the glass full of ice at £3.95. That was out of a large carton which could not have cost more than £1. £3.20 for a large coke, again half full with ice. When I say large the glass was about 2 thirds of a pint. Hence 3 stars. Food 4 stars. Cannot get the simple things right. My family had a meal here recently. Firstly they gave our prebooked table to some other people without checking there name. Simple really. Luckily another table became available. 30 minute wait food with 2 young children was not acceptable but they could have advised us of this, simple to do. When the food arrived, stone cold potato that seemed to have bypassed an oven before serving. Burnt pizza for both children wrong sides for my mum and missing sides altogether. All of these issues with due care and attention could have been simply avoided. NO EXCUSE FOR COLD OR BURNT FOOD. Most of the issues were dealt with eventually and some free desserts offered as a form of compensation. Putting all above aside, the meal was of ok quality and at fairly reasonable prices. One star may seem mean but it was a family meal to celebrate a special occasion and was well and truly spoilt by issues which could have been simply avoided.

This was an amazing find. After a wet and muddy walk our group of 6 plus 3 Damp and smelly Cocker Spaniels were made to feel extremely welcome. Extensive menu and reasonable prices. The food was lovely and the staff polite, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed it that much we booked a table to return in the evening and the food and the the dog friendly atmosphere was superb. The atmosphere of the place is rather bland and boring it reminds me of a retirement home. Besides from that however, the food is relatively cheap for the quality of the food that you will be getting.The staff are really nice and so is their food. However, with saying that i would advise staying away from their burgers, they tend to have a similar taste and texture to that of a microwave burger. What i would recommend is their steaks, some vary in quality but if its good its really good.

Food here is very good value with healthy portions, the number of menus is rather bewildering. There was a main menu, specials menu, drinks menu, Sunday Roast menu and Sunday Evening menu. I had the Surf and Turf, the scampi was perfect, the steak was cooked exactly to order although there was a vein of fat and gristle I would like to have seen removed. The chips were great and the peas were fine, perhaps slightly overdone. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our daughters sausages came too overdone (burnt essentially) and a tea was forgotten from the order but these issues were quickly resolved with graceful smiles. The staff were particularly kind and friendly to my two young daughters and my elderly grandfather. We were made to feel very welcome indeed. The decor is somewhat dated but the pub feels cozy and it is generally clean (I did have to raise a query about the cleanliness of the disabled/baby change toilet). This is not a high end restaurant, but it is a warm, good value, family friendly restaurant and we left very happy indeed despite a few hiccoughs during the evening.

I have been here twice the food is average fine for the money as not overly expensive. Each time however food has taken over an hour to arrive. 1st time we went they had no desserts left the second time I ordered an Eaton mess and was surprised to not find one strawberry but frozen raspberries. It was really nice but not Eaton mess as on the menu. If you want a chilled night out with friends great place but don't go here for quick meal.

My daughter and I stopped off here after spending the day hiking and walking around the reservation area right next door. The food was your standard gastropub fare but it was still delicious, and much welcomed after a day out in the cold. The atmosphere was calm, quiet and family friendly. We came last night for a meal and was very dubious as 3 years ago we had a herendous meal (see below). HOWEVER! it was amazing!!!! The staff were a lot more attentive, the refurb was lovely, we sat upstairs it was a lovely atmosphere. And the food was outstanding! Brinsley Lodge is a perfect little place not too far away from where we live so we were gutted when last time we came it was terrible. But glad to say we will be back again and again We! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! ♡ We normally love it here. But weve just had a meal, it took over an hour for our meals to arrive (we had to ask at 50mins where our food was, 10mins later it came). When it came the plates and food were hot but i had wexford steak which i have had before and it was beautiful however this time it was dry, swimming in juice and the chips were dry which are normally devine! My partner agreed the chips werent nice. The staff didnt seem bothered. I am really not one to complain normally and we have had some beautiful meals here as we are very local and its good value for money. However i think we may not be visiting any time soon. Which is a massive shame!

Sometimes pop in here. Monday club is very cheap. Chips are like proper chippy ones. Last time we went recently food service was very very slow. Waiting a long time between courses. All our puddings didnt come out at the same time. Waitresses not over friendly or welcoming. Staff always seen chatting and drinking at the bar when they are meant to be serving. Its hit and miss with this place some times it can be good and some times you are disappointed. Been twice for the Monday club. First time I had a big portion. 2nd time I felt it was not as big. Monday club special pudding is cornflake tart, but they never have any. Thursday 2 for £10 we have always found good.

Good overall but could be better. We visited for steaks which were excellent and reasonably priced too but the setting let the place down a little. Things felt a little cheap with regards to the furniture. We had a party of 6 and had to change 3 of the chairs at the table as they were broken. Tables were wobbly too. We visited early in the evening and the restaurant was quite empty and lacking in any atmosphere. I hope we were just unluky with the furniture and time of our visit as the food was great, im sure will give the place another chance, hoping for a better overall visit with tge rest matching the food.

Just had a fabulous meal. My wife and I both had an 8oz rump steak, served with homemade chips, garden peas, onion rings, mushrooms and a grilled tomato, all for £11-98. The steaks were perfectly cooked. We will definitely be going again.

Fantastic meal, excellent customer service. Even though they were very busy. They couldn't do enough to find room for us even though we hadn't booked. Fantastic food usually until yesterday i went with my partner and 2 children . The mains were fantastic but the puddings were a joke . Small is an understatement.
