The best place for food! The owner of this restaurant is the loveliest man I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and has hospitality down to a tee! All the food here is absolutely incredible and so beautifully presented- it’s worth every penny. Whether you want breakfast, brunch, lunch or an early dinner, the food here is exquisite all day and in a beautiful setting that has been so well designed and layed out. This place is definitely worth a visit if you haven’t already. Especially considering it’s impressive glow up since changing hands!

Popped un for lunch with partner. Both fully enjoyed our food. Burger was one of the best I've had in a while. Very welcoming, nice atmosphere. Defo recommending this place to family and friends. We'll 100% returning, place can only be get Better once sunshine arrives I'm sure.

Food was well presented tasted very nice, quality produce used accompanied by very attentive staff and very accommodating as I asked for fried bread and nothing was too difficult. This will be our go to dinning from now on when we are in the area. Thank you la vague staff.

Stopped by for lunch which we all really enjoyed. We had ciabatta sandwiches, cakes and espresso. The food is well presented and high quality, and the cannolies are incredible! The owner is really friendly, present and attentive and the service is high standard - all in a setting that's spotlessly clean, tidy and really pleasant to be in - especially on a summer's day, sat outside. The riverside setting is a massive plus too!

Had a great meal at La Vague today with the family Anwar the owner was as welcoming and friendly as ever. We had 6 different mains all cooked really well, presentation wad great and there were 6 clear plates. One of the best meals I've had for a while anywhere.

Decided to have a ride down to Gunthorpe Lock . Cafe in carpark looked very clean and fresh . Indoor and out door seating . Table service ,I ordered a Breosh sausage cob and a coffee . Very quick friendly service . Piping hot coffee followed shortly by my order. Sat at table 44 outside in the sun . I've not been before but will definitely visit again soon. Highly Recommended.

I came in with my little boy today for some lunch. When we arrived there were about 5 staff members congregated at the bar and what looked to be the owner running around like a blue a**ed fly. No one saw us coming in and I had to interrupt the staff chat. The owner was polite and accomodating. Seemed a bit bizarre that he appeared to be doing more than all of the waitresses put together. Although there was one waitress who served me who was very friendly and professional. I had the steak sandwich and chips. The steak was of a beautiful quality, it was fresh, melt in the mouth quality and the bread it was on was also lovely and fresh. I couldn't fault the meal. However, I will say that for a steak sandwich and drink at £17.20 it was extremely expensive. This wasn't a big sandwich cut into two, it was just one very small slice of baguette. Perhaps that's the price you pay for that particular quality of steak but it isn't somewhere I'd "nip in" for a bite to eat again.

Wasn’t exactly given a warm welcome despite their not being busy. Food was nice but pricey and no shelter outside if it starts raining. Used to love the covered seating area at the back where you could relax with a coffee after a dog walk but sadly that’s no more.

We sat and just wanted a couple of coffees and teas. Needed the loo, to be faced with an abrupt manager asking if I was a customer, and when I said yes, just got a wave a head nod towards the toilet. Asked for a water ,my little girl said ice please...and wasn't allowed with tap water...😳 The waitresses are all lovely, but would not return for the pure rudeness of the manager. Custom is custom, we may of ordered lunch but decided we didn't want to stay.

Although nice views, the menu was over priced for ok food. We didn't want a full lunch- due to prices and not wanting to be to eat too much food at lunch time..a veggie sandwich, admittedly with fries for £12. we ordered a veggie pizza to share at £15, but informed by waiter they don't 'do sharing'. This is a place that you can just have a drink and was not full. We questioned this as we thought he was playing with us. But management have this rule. we ordered pizza and shared it. As we were going another couple also wanted to share a pizza, stating that having 1 each would be to much food. The Manager informed them they do not do this. I spoke to the manager at the time, he was dismissive. I've never been any where, posh or not that do not allow this. And it wasnt that posh! We will not be returning.

Although they "forgot" to put the tuna in the tuna nicoise the food was actually very good. A gust of wind blew our umbrella out of our table into the one next door. Instead of asking if we were all ok, the manager actually asked me why i didn't catch it!!! I doubt i will be returning any time soon.

Just had a wonderful lunch here with my daughter..... can't recommend the place highly enough. All the staff were so warm, welcoming & friendly & the food was absolutely delicious. Every plate we saw being served looked amazing & the smells had our mouths watering in anticipation! It is a wonderful, welcoming, family run business with the highest of standards you come to expect from a lovely man like Anwar. Looking forward to lots more visits at this delightful venue 🙂

First visit since the new owner, Anwar took over....nothing is too much trouble, both Anwar and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful.. We shared a pizza and calamari, along with a couple of beers each.. Everything was lovely including the setting, by the river..we'll try breakfast next time and combine it with a walk by the river...highly recommended
