Good food, the lamb sauce was delicious, the lamb was cooked very nice, the vegetables could get a bit more love, but they were good. I was impressed with the white bait and the Belgian chocolate was fantastic. Overall 5 stars.

From the start of this experience was flawless. Charlotte the lady who was front of house/waitress called us to confirm the reservation I made online. When we arrived we were seated within minutes despite it being busy, we were made to feel special and well catered too the whole time. Service was fast, all the flavours on every dish we had tonight complimented each other rigorously. I had the French onion soup, my partner tried the Duck pâté. For mains we had Beef bourguignon and also the Pork with crackling, dauphinoise potatoes, vegetables with a apple cream sauce (it wasn’t overpowering whatsoever) We shared a sticky toffee pudding and went straight home to relax because we felt so satisfied! 100% will be returning again, visited the first time years ago and still just as consistently of the highest standard. Once again thank you to the all the staff for a wonderful night and lovely atmosphere!

Very friendly, and attentive staff. The food is delicious. The restaurant has a wide range of choices for various dietary requirements, including vegetarian and vegan, all of which are delicious. The beat thing, for me, is the daily specials they have that make the choice of what to have when there even more broad. The only 'downside' of the restaurant is the decision paralysis one gets when weighing up which of the many delicious options to choose from.

Delicious food and fantastic service. We had travelled from Worcester to spend a few days in a Nottingham for my fiancé’s 40th Birthday. The French onion soup was sublime and the pork dauphinois was seasoned perfectly. Pork crackling with the right amount of crunch while still able to cut with a knife, my compliments to the chef.

We've been to Le Mistral a few times before, but not since lockdown. Having tired of bbq food in the heatwave, we wandered into Sherwood with no destination in mind. Le Mistral seems always busy, but they squeezed us in - and we're glad they did. Foodwise we'd chosen Bouillabasse and Moules Marinieres before the waitress drew our attention to the specials board. "Steamed mussels in creamy coconut, chilli and coriander sauce" was on offer and I switched to this. An exquisite dish, full of delicate flavours that allowed the mussels to sing. A vague hint of south-east Asia which was intoxicating. Service is reassuringly friendly and clearly a knowledgeable guide to choosing what suits you best. By now, you'll have gathered that we really enjoyed our impromptu meal out and thoroughly recommend Le Mistral.

Lovely food and great service, restaurant was incredibly hot so I felt awful for the staff in there, was fine for sitting and eating but it would be great to add some Aircon for the summer for the staff! We went as a four with 2 meat eaters and 2 vegans and unfortunately the vegan selection was not well labelled and they put both vegetarian and plant based under the same heading and section so we had to ask if the options were in fact suitable for vegans and one wasn't. It was the linguine with a creamy mushroom sauce and with the world being so much easier for vegans we would have easily believed it was supposed to be vegan with maybe a cashew cream sauce so I'm glad we asked as we would have accidentally ordered it if I hadn't checked! The food we had was brilliant and will definitely come again, just clearer labelling would be recommended :)

Went here for the first time last night. Nice local eaterie, decor is nothing special, but is clean and tidy, plenty of hand gel stations around, and screens between tables. Staff and service were excellent and food was tasty with decent portion sizes. We'll definitely be back!

My only feedback is that it would be nice to indicate on the menu when a dessert is served warm, I personally am not a huge fan of warm chocolate brownie and I wouldn't have chosen it had I know it wasn't cold.

Superb meal enjoyed post lock-down. Have to mention a few words of praise regarding an excellent meal I had at "Le Mistral" in Nottingham last night whilst working at City Hospital. Despite all the COVID restrictions and all that goes with it I reserved a table for dinner and enjoyed a superbly cooked meal. Immediately won over by the welcoming and friendly, pleasant young waitress who brought a bottle of water over without me even having to ask (why can't all eateries carry out this most simplest of actions?) and also got the balance of service just right. Had a Whitebait and Garlic Aioli starter followed by the Pan Fried Haddock with Prawn, Pearl Onions Sauce and Vegetables - cooked exactly right and so tasty (so easy to get fish wrong), the taste stayed with me all night. Accompanied by a fresh Rose (they seem to have a pretty extensive Wine assortment) I passed on dessert - which looked tempting from the menu, but need to watch the weight!! My only one suggestion would be that the serviettes were really thin - bearing in mind the delicious sauce that came with meal, lemon etc. perhaps a slightly thicker napkin might be advisable - would not want to ruin decent clothes with any food or drink spillage/splash etc. So overall, in short; simple but well cooked grub with nicely thought out menus that were reasonably priced, hoping to return next week if work is confirmed in the area.

It’s my birthday today so thought I would treat myself to a good meal from a local restaurant. I was not disappointed. The food was superb. (I had the lamb shank). Whilst the food was superb, I wanted to leave a review about the service. When the food arrived via Uber (yes I know) and one of the mains was missing, before we had even realised, the restaurant were on the phone to apologise, they then very promptly delivered the missing main before we had even finished the starter (I had the pate). We all miss things, make mistakes, but it’s what you do after that’s the real test. I am looking forward to the day I can sit in the restaurant and enjoy their superb food again. Cous cous was a bit soggy though and the creme brulèè was cold which apparently is how its supposed to be served. First time I've had it cold 🥶. Pre ordered off the Christmas menu, forgot what I'd ordered and was pleasantly surprised with all courses. Soup delicious, bread extra tasty, nut roast with veg divine and the sorbet was fresh and tangy. Every plate was cleared in our party. Excellent value for money and beautiful food. Staff friendly and accommodating. Being a fussy vegetarian it's the only place I enjoy, meat eating family and friends have never complained. Some travel over an hour to eat here.

Food was decent. Service was friendly. It is a popular restaurant so booking is advisable. I had the entrecote and a glass of French cider. The cost was £21.15 which I think is a little on the high side given there were no vegetables just a small but tasty side salad.

First restaurant we've visited post lockdown and found a truly professionally run establishment. Hand sanitizer was available on arrival and temperatures checked before entering. The staff are really friendly and were forever sanitizing their hands which made us feeling completely safe during our visit. What makes it better though is the food is just delicious - I had the pork dauphinoise, so so tasty, whilst my wife had the pan fried haddock which she assured me was excellent. We both had starters + drinks and paid less than £60. It was so good we've booked to go again next month. Well done Le Mistral

This was our first visit, for Saturday lunchtime, but we definitely plan to return. From the moment we walked in to when we left the friendly, attentive and responsive service allowed us to enjoy my Dad's birthday celebration. All our meals were very good, cooked freshly. Our previous experience of dining in at Le Mistral have been very positive. We decided to try a take away this time but we were quite disappointed. My wife and I both had the lamb shank with vegetables which were overcooked. Obviously hadn't travelled well though we only live 10 minutes away. I think we will eat at the restaurant in the future.
