Was driving past from London, when I spotted this gem. I visited their Birmingham branch some time back so knew it was good and I was not disappointed. Best food I have had for a long time. Great service, fantastic ambience. Well done Tipu Sultan management, I will happily make a special 3 hour journey from East London for this quality food alone in future!

A very stylish restaurant. Services was good and friendly and was not rushed to eat up. Very busy restaurant, so best to book. Portion sizes very generous, can easily share a main. Very taste food and fir family's. No alcohol is sold here. Only one issue, the washroom, ate not kept clean and tidy for both genders, this is a shame, other wise, recommend eating here, will not be disappointed about the food. 👍

Beautiful restaurant and amazing service. Portions are really big so you can easily share with someone else. Great range of food to choose from. Situated in a good location with a fairly decent car park considering where it is. Great for an occasion as they decorated the table for us too. Friendly staff.

Went to Tipu Sultan for a work meal, 30 plus people. Very well organized with plenty of space. Restaurant was very clean and staff were polite. Food- almost forgotten about that, well food was very tasty right from the starters to the desserts. Will be visiting again very soon.

I dined at Tipu for the first time for my friends birthday meal last night. I have to say they’ve done an amazing job with the pub that used to be there. The decor is beautiful and elegant. It has a bright fresh feel compared to the current moody trend. The customer service was excellent as soon as you walk through the door, throughout the meal and until we left. The food is well seasoned, nicely plated and came quite quickly. The price point is low, making it a great budget friendly meal without sacrificing the decor (social media aesthetic). There are also fish and vegetarian dishes for varied diets. There were only mocktails on the menu served with cute garnish. This wasn’t an issue for me as I rarely drink. The dessert was also top tier! The only downside is that their glasses always have water marks and smell like raw meat. I personally don’t drink out of the water glasses. The car park wraps around the building giving good sized spaces. Overall this is a beautiful location to dine without breaking the bank. It’s for everyone who enjoys well seasoned or slightly spicy food…. On a side note it’s a beautiful location to break your fast for Ramadan, and it warms my heart that Muslims have this beautiful restaurant within a budget! Definitely returning!

Went to this restaurant on Valentines day!! After a long time waiting to go after staying at home through covid etc... we chose this wonderful occasion. Turned up to the place which has a wonderful Asian themed entrance and loads of free onsite parking. Staff where polite and the seating was ample... We did not have to book a reservation which seemed a little odd? The place is very clean, with more Asian themed pictures all over the place and large chandeliers. We ordered a papari chaat and one was more than enough for 2 people. Then came the main course... Lamb and chicken dishes with the usual rice, keema naan, yogurt etc... Visited the toilets once and those where very clean and modern. We decided not to go for desserts. Conclusion : First impressions very nice place and customer service, prices are reasonable e.g. £50 for 2 people. The reason I gave 3 stars was the main course. It was just toooooo oily!!! Literally the meat dishes was swimming in it. This is old school Asian cooking, but for modern Asian community who are more health conscious this is a real let down. We won't go again, as its not our cup of tea. But give it a try and make your own judgement.

Went down for nephew's birthday. Good welcome from staff. Didn't have to wait long for our table about 10 minutes. Food was great. Lamb chops are a must and the Peshwari chicken was my favourite dish out of what was ordered. Decor is nice with decent sized family booths.

We would like to recommend this place as we had lovely family meal today. The waiter was very friendly, involved and helpful. Food was served very fast (about 15 minutes for starters+ mains). I’ve asked for medium hot and it was medium. They haven’t got salad which I want so they gave me another for free to make me happy. Me and my family came from Sheffield to take some family out for dinner (who came from London). We were greeted very nicely by staff and shown to our table. The first table was not properly cleaned (including the cutlery) but the owner swiftly changed tables for us (a couple of times!), until we got a lovely table for all 7 of us in a nice, cosy spot. Lovely decor - beautifully designed and great feel to the whole place. The customer service was excellent from the owner, the waiters and the rest of the staff, including some jokes and friendly banter! We even got complementary food and drinks, which was appreciated. Food was genuinely nice and we really enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely be visiting in the future!

What better way to spend a rainy night than go for a nice curry. On arrival we were shown to our table by a very pleasant waitress. The restaurant was almost full mainly with families,which was nice to see. They do not serve alcohol,so we tried their mocktails. A Virgin Mojito & Strawberry Mojito. To kick things off we had the obligatory Poppadoms & Chutneys. Followed by Salmon Tikka Chicken Tikka* *(marinated in mint,spinach & coriander) Hence the green colour Mains Tiger Prawn Bhuna Butter Chicken Keema Nan Pilau rice Although being very busy the food didn't take too long. I have been waiting for this place to open for a while now and it didn't dissapoint. The decor had a regal feel to it and I was seated at a decent size table. I like that the whole kitchen is behind a viewing window, everything was clean. Service was quick and the food was excellent. My mix grill starter was delicious. I ordered a few mains that were really tasty. My favourite was the buttered chicken. I will go back again.

Been waiting to come here since it opened. Have tried before but it was packed out. Came in today, Friday, at 5pm. Perfect timing, not busy yet. They open at midday! I'll definitely be back. Quickly seated, gentle asian music in the background, lovely, comfortable seats and a nice table to sit at, pllenty of space for my huge belly! The food is exceptional. I had the mutton chops and was delighted to receive 4 huge chops which were so so tasty. Good wife had the salmon tikka, delicious with a fantastic crispy skin. Both starters had a small side salad which I'd normally leave but this was really yummy. The mains were enormous portions packed with lamb (me) and tiger/king prawns for the good wife. Incredibly tasty and outstanding value for money which you'll struggle to match anywhere. Fast and friendly service throughout the meal so we stayed for pudding :) Great choice of "posh" English desserts like chocolate peanut butter stack and rockslide brownie but I went for ras malai, one of my favourite indian desserts which was perfect. Good wife had a serving of the white chocolate Movenpick ice cream. If you haven't tried Movenpick ice cream I would urge you to give it a go. Really top quality stuff, so creamy and full of flavour. No alcohol served here which i'm glad about. I don't like eating around loud drunken people. I just want to enjoy my food and a bit of chatter with the good wife. All in all a super experience, we'll definitely be back soon. Treat yourself, you wont regret it!

Forgot to take a pic of the mains, but honestly the starters were 10/10 - and it’s rare that you find a place that is so consistent across the board. Chops were seasoned perfectly, succulent and tender with the right amount of charring. The chicken is certainly not your average colour chicken - but it is SO juicy and tender! As far as the flavours, they weren’t as prominent as the colour suggests, but great to have with the accompanying sauce. The papri chaat - wow! Packed full of flavour, it was the star of the show! Sensational - would 100% recommend the papri chaat!

We’ve been looking forward to coming here for ages as we live locally and have seen the building being renovated over lockdown. It was worth the wait. The food and the service were fantastic. Our server Iffy was really attentive and made sure we had a nice and relaxed dinner with our baby son. Will definitely be back for a visit in the evening. The decor in the venue is really well done and I think when it is busy on a weekend it will have a great atmosphere.

When reading the reviews of this restaurant I was a bit hesitant but decided to nevertheless book and I must say it was the correct decision. We were allowed to put up some birthday decorations which was lovely even though we had to pay a £100 deposit in order to book a table. The staff was superb - very friendly, caring and helpful, even the owner of the restaurant came by our table many times to ask if we are okey. Food wise I must say that while it was tasty all dishes were quite spicy. All together very happy with the restaurant, interior and staff. Thank you

Customer service here was absolutely amazing! The food however was at best average. The curry was so salty. Everything was really spicy. One thing I will say is although the food was average, the lamb chop starters were absolutely incredible! I won't be rushing back here though.

This place is outstanding! We went for lunch today and had the lunch menu. Me, my husband and our little girl. The staff could not have been more welcoming. The food was out of this world, I have never been to a curry house with so much flavour, it really was unique and for £9.99 that is a bargain! My husband can’t really do massive amounts of spice so they made him a korma which Wasnt on the set menu so they really do go the extra mile. I don’t write many of these reviews but really felt it was worth taking the time to let everyone know how good it is. Will definitely be returning and taking the rest of the family and friends with us.

Absolutely nailed it this place has, immaculate service start to finish. Been going to Birmingham branch for years but wanted place closer to Sheffield so tried these guys out. Manager and staff down to earth excellent recommendations was nor disappointed at all. Me and Mrs enjoyed the starters and mains. Mocktails were not like other restaurants where they fill more ice than the actual drink. These guys are onto a winner and you Nottingham people are lucky you have this at your doorsteps.

The staff were very accommodating of our dietary requirements. The food was absolutely incredible. With a table of fussy eaters, it's often a challenge to find food that satiates every palate. Very nice place. Great food.. And the quantities you get are plentiful, so much so we'll all (4 of us) took away doggy bags to enjoy another day. A point to concider when visiting is they don't serve alcoholic drinks but there Moctails are very nice. You can't take own either. The atmosphere was quite nice but a tad noisy on this particular evening! Could be a sign of people enjoying themselves.. All in all worth a visit 😊👍

Excellent service. We booked Tipu Sultan Nottingham for nikka/wedding. All the staff were amazing especially Basset who managed the event very well and made sure everything went smoothly. Went to tipu Sultan on Monday. The decor is opulent with chandeliers and booth seating. It was very busy both seated and takeawaywhith just eat drivers in and out frequently. We were seated and served reasonably quickly. And our food came quite quickly too. Nice touch a chef brings out the food and then the waiter serves. Lastly the food was exceptional and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend.

From the minute we arrived until the minute we left. Lovely decor. A really nice relaxed vibe about the place. The food was amazing and delicious couldn’t fault it. And it came to us all in good time, the flavours in the starters and mains was very tasty all 4 of us enjoyed every bit. It’s beats the Birmingham and Leicester restaurant by miles!!! Our waiter iffy was incredible to say the least, everything we needed he was there,Helped us out with the menu and nothing was any trouble at all top tier for a waiter and probably one of the best servers we have had so a big thank you too you iffy for making our experience all the more amazing!! (Pay rise on the cards I think! 😉) But all in all notttingham tipu sultan is the place to be…..we will 100% be back. And 100% recommend. If we could give more than 5 stars for this restaurant and our server we sure would. Thank you.

Bathrooms were nice and clean. food: flavour was delicious. Naan was so good. Mild spicy was perfect for the people in our group that did not want spicy. Portions looked small - but we had a group of 6 - and ordered a few dishes to share and had enough to pack up to take home. We had the butter chicken, Dahl & some meat dishes - they were all delicious. I was looking forward to the chai - but they didn’t have any because they were busy.

A work colleague and I had this restaurant recommended to us, so we tried it. All I can say is that the food is absolutely amazing and is the best curry I have ever had, bar none. The presentation and amazing flavours were out of this world. One dish we had was the Karai Gosht Sultani and the lamb was as soft and tender as butter, absolutely delicious. Bro plz stick to original, price and time dont matter last night tomatoes in my lamb curry were the size of my head thanks God taste was nice. Price is still much better than other so called Indians. Your naan bread is💋. Staff great timing was little long. Over all 99.9 marks out of 100😁😄😃😀 spent so much but still could not make wife happy now I found the only way I can make her happy is if I hoover whole house clean bathroom and thats what I am going to do now so wish me luck.🤐🤐

I and the family visited Tipu Sultan Nottingham this week. It was our first time at the restaurant and was recommended by family friends. When we arrived, parking wise they have a large car park at the front of the restaurant as well around the side of the building. We had provisionally booked prior to our arrival and we were running a little late on the day of our visit. When we walked in we got seated very quickly and there was no issue with us being slightly late for our booking. When making my reservation for our visit, I explained that we had booked the meal for my wife’s birthday meal. On arrival, we were amazed by the birthday decorations around our table which made our visit even more personal and welcoming. Food-wise for starters, we ordered several starter dishes, mains and desserts. Food portions were outstanding compared to most restaurants we have dined at and the price overall was perfect for what we had received. The dedicated table staff and management team were outstanding for their service, definitely a 5* experience. All in all would defo recommend this place, the food was amazing, the service was incredible, even when the place was really busy. Me and my family members will definitely be revisiting Tipu Sultan in Nottingham again.

We got complimentary popadoms and chutney and the kind manager even gave my daughter a free mango lassi !! Service 7/10 due to (time delay for mains) but they have only been opened for a week so not anything to worry about. Raised our concerns to staff about delay of our main course and management soon rectified this which was nice and comforting. Visited Tipu Sultan for Valentine's day which was our first visit. We had the set menu which was outstanding value of £25 pp for 3 courses and a drink. Had our first visit here recently and was very impressed. A lot of money was clearly spent on the refurbishment as it looks spectacular inside. Thankfully the food and the service match the decor too. We shared a starter of chicken pakora, which was excellent, with light batter filled with tender pieces of chicken. My chicken murgh gosht main was also delicious, as, judging by the taste I had, the sultani chicken as well. We certainly didn’t miss alcohol and the lack of it helped keep the price very reasonable indeed. A very enjoyable meal and I’m sure we’ll be back.

My first visit to Tipu sultan was couple of days ago,on our 14th anniversary. Oh My God, what a beautiful restaurant,with high qulaity food and a fantastic service. Food was truly authentic and real. There were no big chunks of onion and tomato in the curry to make it look more then it is.We ordered butter chicken and pishwari lamb. And I have not tasted anything better then that in Nottingham, their cheffs deserve to be recognised 👏🏼👏🏼, we came back and I felt like I have eating really good quality home food. Be aware- alcohol isnt served. But if you like mango lassi like me you won't miss it anyway! The only downside is the car park was full, but there is a car park round the corner that's only 4mins walk away.

Warm friendly welcome and on arrival I got worried that it looked busy and we might have to wait for a long time. I was pleasantly surprised that we were seated straight away. Decor is pleasing to the eye. Loved the mango chutney with the poppadoms. Starters arrived quickly, fish pakoras and lamb cops were perfect. I forget to tell the waiter that I wanted medium spice in the chicken achari. It arrived without a long wait and perfect level of spice. Tried the strawberry mock tail which was very refreshing and perfect for Snapchat photo! Finally we have a restaurant of high class decor and the quality of food is 10/10. Thank you all.

One star less as we found that most of their starters are embarrassingly too small. Meat platter for £22 was not worth it at all sorry to say. Papri Chaat is very delicious and reasonably good portion too. In comparison to all the top restaurants in England, we found the portions here extremely disappointing. Pls throw in a couple of more pcs in your starters then a Win Win! We tried achari gosht karahi which was really good but gosht sultani karahi was NEVER AGAIN. Rice we did not try. Mango lassi and Ras Malai are great too! Trying different food here helps us which not to order again and which is a great each time Must!

Visited Tipu Sultan Nottingham on a extremely busy Friday evening, slight wait to be seated but was 100% worth it. The restaurant interior is beautiful, very regal and comfortable. The service was 10/10, waiters very attentive. The food was gobsmacking good. Meat platter 🤩 lamb chops 🤩 and by far the best Achari Ghosht I've ever had. The nans were extremely fluffy. Uncle Saghir is a top man, we had a small request which he fully catered too. This definitely made our evening. Even though they were busy the waiters and Uncle Saghir came over to see everything was fine which you don't find happens much in restaurants today, especially on a extremely busy Friday evening. I would highly recommend to visit for any occasion. Nottingham needed a place where you could go for a casual meal or for a fancy celebration and we finally have it... Alhamdulillah

Went to Tipu Sultan on a weekday around 4 o’clock. I recommend going at this time because it’s quiet and there is a very relaxed atmosphere. The service is really good, I came here when it first opened and I have to say that the service has definitely improved since then. Our waiter was Iflak who was really helpful and friendly. The butter chicken is enough for 2-3 people, portion sizes are generous. Recommend the butter chicken (the spicy version isn’t too hot) Karahi murgh sultani, the famous sultani lamb chops.
