N. Q.This place is good, it is. However we don’t come as often as we otherwise would for one reason. They are slow. Not once in a while, every single time. I’m here now, and we discussed how “if we went to Jacob and fields it’d be good but they’d be slow.” As expected they are. Currently trying to keep our hungry kids calm while there kitchen takes an age to deliver our order.
Response to business: We’ve been 7-8 times and it’s always been noticeably slow. It’s also written by other reviewers. We’d love to support you more as you’re local to us but the service should be faster. You should spend more time trying to fix the problem than replying to comments to justify your slow service.
Second edit: The time you cited isn’t even correct. I received a phone call after we had ordered and that was at 10:45.
Re speak to you: I think I’ve been enough times and put up with slow service to justify a review.

K. W.I have mixed feelings about J&F. Living locally, we have been 7-8 times to eat brunch or lunch. The food is pretty tasty & I love the Barefoot Bakery cakes they offer. I have tried 3 times to order the Kedgeree but it’s always unavailable. Perhaps it should be a special rather than routine offer? This last time we went many items were unavailable too (like all the salads?!) Anyway, my main complaint about J&F is the slow service, the food takes a good 30 min to come out on average. This seems long time for what is really “short order” food. We have always visited during the week when the place is very quiet too making the wait even more puzzling. I really want to support an independent restaurant as we need as many as possible in Headington but the slow service is a turn off for me as I can’t have a 1-1.5 hour lunch/brunch during the week or with antsy kids.
J. W.Had brunch with sisters and mum. Love the interior. Eggs Benedict was very tasty. Would have given 5 stars f the poached eggs were soft. Both mine and my sister's eggs had hard yokes.
