Fantastic place - the food is amazing - authentic Iranian faire by an award winning chef / owner - highly recommend making a special trip to try it out - the lunch boxes are very tasty and there are lovely places like Port Meadow and the Aristotle park nearby to relax and enjoy it in!

I've been working at the Deli for a couple of months now and It is by far the best place I've ever worked! The owner, Mahdy is super nice and friendly and he's an incredible chef too! The lunchboxes are by far my favourite but the the shop also has some really tasty things! I've really enjoyed working here as well as getting to know the lovely people around! If I could give more stars I would!!

I just had a fantastic lunch box from Hayfield Deli. I chose the vegetarian curry over rice, as well as the potato salad and the aubergine salad for sides. They were all excellent. Highly recommend this clean and delicious spot for lunch!

Some of the best middle-eastern food I've ever tasted. The lunch box is great value and there are meat or vegan options - all gluten free. Love that you can get fair trade and eco food here. The fresh fruit and veg out the front is always very high quality and really adds to the feel of the shop. Yes it's expensive, but Mehdi sells things you can't get elsewhere and I'd never have found sour cherries (that mixed with dark chocolate are delicious) nor Montezuma Black Forest chocolate if he hadn't trialled these. So nice to have a shop where the owner obviously really cares about what they sell.

Great little shop with loads of tasty options! I recommend stopping by for a pastry on your way to port meadow. As a regular customer and resident of the local area I love the deli, it really brings community to our street and is so convenient too. Plus best hummus I’ve ever tasted!

It’s a real privilege to have this deli here in Oxford. They are always warm & welcoming however much of little you buy, the food is beautiful & they are open & accessible to all. I can’t imagine cycling, walking, working or living in Jericho without them here. Supporting independence shops like this at all times but espresso during this last year is so important. Thank you for Always being consistently positive despite the challenges we are facing.

This is absolutely my favourite deli in Oxford. The owner is so friendly, it has real character, and it's great to be able to pop in to grab some of his delicious fresh pastries, pies, and lunch boxes. I also really love being able to grab fresh produce from his lovely displays outside the shop; it makes the neighbourhood feel more vibrant, friendly, and alive. 10/10!

Some of the best food i've ever eaten has come from this Deli!! Kind and friendly staff and you can tell everything is always put together with great love and care. The Deli is a brilliant local shop that I've used for over 20 years. Mahdy makes tasty top quality Persian food and has grown the number and quality of fruits and veg on sale. He sells all you'll need and the shop is an important part of our community, particularly for those of us wanting or needing to stay close to home in these times. Mahdy and his team are super friendly, do drop in if you are nearby, you'll not be disappointed.

The Hayfield Deli is a hidden gem. Delicious home-made food, with an amazing lunch deal. Local products, including Port Meadow honey, fresh bread and eggs. Also stocks a fabulous range of deli products, inc. gluten free pastas, good-value wines, organic chocolate. Apparently the chef also offers a catering service, which I haven't tried, but will definitely try out on some occasion (post-COVID).

Love the lunch boxes at this cute little deli and Mehdi, the owner is an absolute joy. Sources lots of local ethical produce, eggs and bread and makes all the deli food himself. He treats all the customers as though they're a friend. Highly recommend getting the "lunch box" curry and rice combo, or some veggie samosas, or just having a natter with Mehdi if he's about.

This place is great! It's a deli counter + a small shop that carries a surprisingly large amount of products for it's size. I'm so happy to have this place close and it is great to get some last-minute shopping. The deli offers middle eastern style food that is simply delicious. It has by far the best humus in Oxford and their spinach feta pies are amazing. The owner and staff are super friendly.

Love Mehdi's place. The display of fruit and veg outside has been a lifesaver for my young daughter as it's distracted her away from less healthy treats and means she is drawn to the fruit automatically! Amazing hummus, amazing babaghanoush, but the best thing he does are the beans in tomato sauce - when I had terrible sickness in pregnancy with my second child, these were the only things I could stomach and my husband had to go and pick them up for me daily! Not only this but there was a time I had a 3 year old, newborn, all screaming and crying, we were exhausted and I managed to placate the 3 year old with snacks from the Hayfield Deli but when I went to pay I hadn't brought my wallet. I nearly burst into tears, but the absolutely wonderful shop assistant let me have the items anyway. The kindness was so appreciated! Wish we still lived nearby.

A hidden gem with a great sense of community. Incredible home-made Harissa and curries made by Mehdy, locally made samosas & flatbreads. Love the colourful display of high quality fresh fruit and vegetables outside... and perfectly placed for a croissant and a coffee before or after a walk in Port Meadow.

Great shop. The only shop in this residential area which saves us walking for ages to the Coop in Walton St or Summertown. I am especially glad that they sell fresh fruit n veg - Covid shows us that being healthy and not obese is essential.

They offer delicious freshly cooked hot lunches, vegan snacks - including some of the best falafel in Oxford! - and lots of organic and ethically source local produce to choose from. The Hayfield Deli catered for my summer BBQ a couple of weeks ago and they were Fantastic! We had about 60 adults and 10 children and Everyone raved about the food. It really made the party. One friend, who is a real foodie said "that is the best buffet I have EVER had at a BBQ". Not only is the food delicious, fresh, well presented, in good quantities and interesting but Mahdy and his staff are wonderful. They were so helpful and good humoured. Smiling whilst having the move tables under cover when the English rain came down on us and then taking them out again under the sun. It is stressful organising a big party and Mahdy made me feel so relaxed, supported and excited about the party when he came round a few days before to bring round equipment, smiling and even offering to help set up my own marquee. He also brought round extra sausages for the children. I cannot recommend them highly enough and I will definitely use them again. Thanks guys
