Very good small steakhouse, with big portions. Had a 16oz T-bone and a small starter to share with my brother and fiance their other cuts. Even that made me quite full and I consider myself a big eater. I still believe I can do their Man v Food though. Can be busy though, we booked a table around 20:30ish but even then we didn't get a table till later. But had a good meal for my brother's birthday.

Visited this evening for Valentines and OMG.... Perfect in everyday way. Staff were lovely from the second we walked in the door and very quick with service. For such a special night, they made us feel special by giving us a rose each. Food was perfect and full of flavour and best of all very well priced for the huge portions you get. I really look forward to returning again soon. Thank you team at the Barbican Steakhouse.

This place is a real find. The staff are so welcoming & the food is amazing. I was in Plymouth with my wife & she suggested we try it. She had chicken breast with chorizo & cheese I had steak & ribs. Both cooked to perfection & served with a lovely big salad. It was so good we went back to nights later. I had the farmyard. OMG it was huge but everything was cooked so well & the prices are so reasonable. The food the staff you would be mad not to give it a go. I work in Plymouth a lot & I will be coming on my own. Thanks guys for 2 great meals. We will be back.

I have been here twice now and the food and service have been equally excellent both times. The staff are very attentive and respectful, making for a really lovely experience. The food is to die for and very reasonably priced for what you get. I had the Fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection. My partner had the T Bone steak and was equally very pleased with his meal. Absolutely amazing food. My steak melted in my mouth 😋 The dressed salad was fresh, crisp and delicious. The chips were perfect, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The Chocolate Sundae was to die for!! A special Thank you for allowing me to bring my own non-alcoholic Cider with me as I am unable to drink Alcohol. A wonderful experience. Definitely to be repeated. Loved every moment xx

We came here for our 12th Anniversary meal. Of the bat they were Fantastic. I had a hypo when I first arrived and they instantly helped gave me orange juice and kept asking if I was OK and if I needed anything else. We waited about 25mins for our meals and wow they did not disappoint. They were delicious. Meat was melt in your mouth and to our liking. Would highly recommend.

We arrived here on a Tuesday evening and despite not having a reservation, we were seated quickly. The staff appear to be friendly but return to the table too quickly to take your order. There was a waiting period of about 30 mins for the food, hence the 4 star rating. The food itself was delicious and good quality. The price is reasonable in comparison to my home town of London. When I kick off my tour (The Hypnotist Matters Of The Mind) I plan to bring my show crew here. Additionally, when my friends steak went cold, they agreed to re-fire it quickly and efficiently.

A proper steakhouse with a large menu of steak options - you can ask to see the steak before it is cooked. The seafood dishes are also phenomenal. Crab to start particularly recommended but you won't go wrong whatever you choose. Great, friendly service. Excellent value for money. I nearly always visit when staying in plymouth for work. Very highly recommended if looking for somewhere to eat in Barbican area, or in fact anywhere in the South West, it's worth the trip. No on site parking.

Went here recently for a friend's 60th birthday meal and it was absolutely fabulous. When my plate of food arrived, i couldn't believe the size of it and every single mouthful of food was beautifully cooked. Will definitely be going back here in the very near future. Awesome night.

Completely different story couple weeks later tough steak, paid £7.95 for special pudding which I only ate half as it was burnt totally disappointed as took family there as a treat. A small steakhouse that offers a diverse menu with some mighty meals on offer if you have the stomach. We largely settled on rump steaks that came with a varied choice of sides. The steaks were on the chewy side so a bit disappointing. The sides were ok.

Having seen other reviews we were expecting better, we booked for 1930 but didn't need to bother as it was almost empty on that Friday night. We both had ribs and i had steak the wife chicken, the steak was bland, not as good as the chicken, both had to gnaw the meat of the ribs, no fall of the bone here, it was okay nothing more, will not be rushing back

Had a great family meal here. Staff were super friendly and helpful and seem that nothing would be too much for them. The restaurant had a really nice feel to it comfortable and welcoming Then to the food. The food was excellent I had the half pound burger and it was great. My partner has the slow cooked pork belly and said the gravy was to die for. Highly recommended a visit here if you get the chance.

Great food and service at this place last night. The only thing annoying was the mark up on a very ordinary Malbec. 21 pounds a bottle is too expensive. It was drinkable but cheap. Other than that everything was enjoyable and faultless service.

Great little place, nice selection of food and friendly helpful staff. Only thing that annoyed us was that they didn't have an up-to-date drinks menu online, we went in the car as didn't like the look of their drink selection, to find they had our favourite drink, would definitely have booked a taxi then. It did get busy and noisy so if you're after a quiet intimate dinner, maybe this isn't the place for you :)

Great place. We were a large party of 19 and they accommodated us no problem - even 2 vegans, going so far as to get vegan icecream in for us!! Everyone was happy with their food, the steaks were good, and the service was great. The only minor issue was only 1 highchair with 2 babies in tow.

Went with 15 + people for my mums 60th, we were put on separate tables, had to wait over an hour for the starter and then another hour and a half for the main course. Out of the 10 people who orderd stake weather it be rump, fillet or ribeye the cuts of meet were chewie full of fat and sinune (in edible) also I had a long piece of metal in my stake witch I'm assuming was from a wire brush from when they clean the stake pans! Recommended for 2 to 3 people but overall our esperance was at best a 2 out of 5 star. We won't ever be going back their again

The pick up orders...need to go out of the restaurant, upstairs next door, you knock at a door which is facing a flat door, and behold... In the flat opposite there's the pick up kitchen. A bit unusual but worth a try or two.

Love this restaurant been here many times with my wife and two boys. The waiters are all very friendly and very polite also very knowledgeable about products nothing seams to much for them. Children's meals only £4.95. Deserts again only £4.95 The Oreo cheesecake with ice cream is my favourite.

Monday night, nice and quiet. Amazing really tasty food, which arrived piping hot and with generous sized portions and reasonable prices. Really friendly server who was quick and responsive. £5 starter, £15 to 20 for most mains, £20 for a smothered fillet steak with sweet potato chips, wilted cabbage and bacon, a nice mushroom type sauce topped with blue cheese. Nice draught pint of Carlsberg for £3.95. There were also some Man Vs food challenges on the menu from spicy to the 60oz steak. I highly recommend this place.

Amazing restaurant, the decor, the music, for an American far from home this place is a bbq and steakhouse oasis. Had dinner here twice, first the Vulcan Fury then had a filet mignon plus half rack Of ribs for only 5 quid more. Insane value for money and the service is just stupendous. A smartly decorated place that's clean and tidy. Loved the little touches like candles and beautiful silver steak knives. Excellent service but the most important part is the food and omg what delight. The Best fillet steak I have ever had in my life. At medium rare it was sublime. The pepper sauce was also the best ive tasted while eating out. The accompanying sweet potato chips and salad were flawless.My partner had the 22oz ribeye steak it was to big for him to finish lol but cooked to perfection. If you want quality then this is the place to go. Amazing!

I've eaten great steak from the USA, where they really know how to serve grain fed beef steak. In the UK it's really hard to find similar quality, but when I visit Plymouth I know I can get it here. The Barbican steakhouse know their steak! Definitely worth a visit. Definitely worth trying the côte d'boeuf. House red is ok too.

We went for my sister's 50th birthday food was good but we were a large party and are tables were not together, I don't think there was enough staff on as our food was a long time coming but the place was full, our chairs kept getting knocked every time a waiter went past I think they tried to fit to many tables in this place is more suited to small groups of people.

Went here for the 2nd time as part of a works crimbo thing, booked in for 1900 seated then not served for about 20 minutes even though they had our orders. It was Decemeber but it was as cold as the North Pole! No heating at all which everybody noticed and that kind of ruined the meal for a lot of us as I shivered all through the meal then as soon as I'd finished I put my large coat on and sat wearing that, couldn't wait to leave to head to a place that had heating.

Enjoyed a nice meal here, very quiet though so atmosphere a little flat. Can't complain about the food, steak and ribs nicely cooked, they do however charge an extra £2.50 for hand-cut chips, as opposed to standard chips, which I thought was a bit cheeky. Bottle of red reasonable priced and not bad at all.
