Recommended by a friend and wasn't disappointed. Can see why this restaurant won the best restaurant in the Devon. Their food it just that tasty! Been trying to find restaurant that sell authentic Chinese cuisine and this place does them. Some authentic options may not be avaliable on the English menu as they also have a Chinese menu, but we couldn't choose the Chinese menu at the time because they were way too busy and from their review comments, only one chef knows how to make them? Anyway, I enjoyed the food here like, reminds myself what I used to eat in London Chinatown and Hong Kong. Will return another time and have the "mince pork and aubergine" 鱼香茄子煲 as they sadly ran out of aubergine...

Visited Imperial Garden when we were in Plymouth 3 weeks ago. Asked around for advice and imperial was first choice for Chinese food. Honestly, it’s the best Chinese we’ve ever tasted🙌🙌🙌. So much choice and food quick to the table. Uber fresh and generous portions! Always a good sign when you see other Chinese locals eating there too. Definitely recommend this restaurant, you won’t be disappointed.

Top-notch Chinese food! My missus and I had the chicken feet in black bean sauce and the spicy mapo tofu last night, which was absolutely delicious. Food arrived quick as always and staff was lovely. See you again!

Easy to book a reservation. Table and seating was clean and comfortable. Food quality was almost perfect - definitely give the vegan options a try. However the dining in experience is lacking. Table service was minimum. We were provided with only a spoon and fork each (no knife, no offer of chopsticks). The business only takes cash payments which was not made clear when booking a table. The dishes were brought with no serving spoons. The air-con, while surely great during the heatwave, ended up chilling the meal down to cold in short order. Overall good quality food to takeaway, but dining in could be better.

Called up to place an order, very warm and friendly service :) ordered vegan beef chow mein and vegan chicken fried rice which was delicious, and i ordered Singapore rice noodles for my mum which she loved! Lovely food with a plethora of unusual dishes to choose from. The crispy beef in Peking sauce was a highlight. Only downside was that they took forever to clear our table when we'd finished our mains; probably down to a staff shortage

Wow. Extensive menu including an entire vegan menu with vegan prawn, squid, chicken, pork and duck. Great prices, delicious food and fair portions. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Very clean toilet and tables. I am really impressed and will definitely be coming back!

Service took a while but was a busy friday night with lots of takeaways. Tip: Sit in the room away from the door to relax and avoid all the walk-in traffic for takeaways.

(UPDATED REVIEW AT BOTTOM) Absolutely Fantastic!!! Me and a group of friends booked a table to dine in for my birthday and what a delight it was! We have ordered takeaway from them before and found it out of this world so dining it was a must try, and I'm glad we did! They have a sensational vegan menu, probably the biggest Asian vegan menu I have ever seen and the tastiest for sure! Some of my friends are meat eatters, they also absolutely loved thier food and also loved trying the vegan dishes we had! The service was wonderful, always met with a smile and they was all very patient waiting for us to order and dealing with the boys being boys a points.. (They broke a glass spinning the food rotisserie, but once again was met with nothing but kindness and understanding) All in all a Sensational birthday experience, Thank you so much for making it so special Imperial Garden! Just to add, everyones favourite dish (including the meat eaters) was the 'Vegan garlic butter prawns'. A must try!!! UPDATED REVIEW : Visted on a family outing and had the most wonderful experience again!! Beautiful restraunt and we were seated where we was for my birthday which was really lovely; on top of that the meat eatters happy , vegans and vegetarians happy, plus all the staff were again lovely and helpful! Honestly my favourite restraunt in plymouth, a must try for everyone!! I also ordered take out from here about two weeks ago and it was devine!! Amazing!! My partner and I have recently moved from Plymouth after living there four years and this was our go to Chinese the whole time. We are both vegan and the range of vegan options here is incredible, always taste amazing and good delivery time. Cannot fault it. The food is lovely and we order often, but lately there have been mistakes with our orders, they never do anything to apologise, or make amends, they made us wait for up to 35 minutes to bring out a missing item from our order one time, meanwhile the rest of our food went cold. I told them our food had gone cold and their response was just 'yeah'. We never receive any money back or discount for next time, the delivery driver actually seemed annoyed at us for having to bring back our missing items. We just had a curry sauce missing from our recent order so it wasn't much, but when it was bought out to us, I'm pretty sure it was filled up less than usual which is ridiculous given everything. We used to order so much, but we won't be in a rush to order again anytime soon.

A really good take away meal. This is the second time we have eaten here (the first time we ate in). We use this restaurant as it caters for vegan options (very wide range of meat replacement choices). Not the cheapest, but all takeaway food was hot, very tasty, and a good sized portion. Visited the restaurant last night for the first time and ordered £50 worth of food on takeout. My wife has recently decided to try a vegan diet so to have a wide vegan selection was great but they've not branched to vegan starters yet sadly. Got home to Dartmoor with our food to find one of our meals was missing (noodles) which was disappointing so we called but sadly couldn't get an answer. Besides this annoyance the food was lovely so we'll use them again but will be sure to check we have everything before we drive all the way home.

You can choose from the real Chinese menu or our English version of Chinese food and all their food is absolutely beautiful and always fresh. The staff are lovely people and you know it's a good Chinese restaurant/takeaway when there is always a crowd of Chinese students or locals that eat and order food from there. The food here is generally pretty good. The twice cooked pork belly in hot bean sauce is a particular favourite, along with the Singapore vermicelli. You can dine in, take away or order over the phone for delivery. Waiting times for delivery are around the forty minute mark on weekends.

Best. Chinese. Food. Ever. Need I say more ? If you said yes, the place offers impeccably authentic Chinese food thousands of miles away from the country of origin. Strong familiar flavours from the Far East. In the precarious balance of maintaining authenticity while catering to the local market, this place knows how to do that and always with a smile. Be sure to order from the Chinese menu (if you know the language) because that hides a lot more hidden gems compared to the English menu.

Great food for meat-eaters and vegans alike. They have a complete vegan menu, which veggies and vegans can order off as well as the veggie dishes of the standard menu. I love the mock duck rice side dish. I always feel like indulging in overeating when I've eaten here, the food is so yummy :-3 A meat-eating family member was impressed by the quality of a pork dish, saying it's been a few years since he has been to a Chinese restaurant that did that particular dish he likes so autentically. You can dine with wine here and bring home leftovers afterwards. The staff are friendly and professional. A word of advice, though: bring cash for payment. Due to fraud experiences, the restaurant no longer accepts card payments.

By far the most authentic Chinese food in plymouth. I've tried alot of different places and Imperial garden is head and shoulders above other local rivals. If your after the standard classics then you won't be blown away but if your willing to try different things on the menu then you won't be dissapointed. Big fan of the wandering dragon dish & pork belly in hotbean sauce. Vegan dishes are great too.

You are in the west country and you want something awesome to eat, come here, avoid the standard "takeaway" fare try some of the things you might not have seen before, kai lan with garlic sauce, casserole of pork belly mastered long before it got on a cheffy menu, steamed chicken with ginger sauce, light and refreshing, if you are on your own ask for a big bowl, a customised lunch for one. Service is great and we are always looked after.
