Reviews of The Bridge
M. S.
I came here with my mother on 20/10/22.
The food we both had was simply superb! I had one of the best chicken and ham pies with vegetables and mash potato. For the record I don't like mash often, but this was stunning!
My mother had the seafood tagliatelle and she said it was the best she had ever had. I sampled it and it was top notch too!
We then both shared a delicious chocolate brownie for dessert as I was still determined to try out more food :)
The staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed our time here. The portion sizes were large and presented well. Certainly worth paying for.
I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some wholesome home food for their lunch/dinner.
Please keep up the brilliant work and I will be back :)
P. R.
Pricey, good views of the harbour and a great place to watch the sun sink. Reasonable menu choice the pizza with blue cheese was the one different choice.
K. R.
Booked for dinner on a Friday night. Loved the style and feel of the place, very chilled and relaxed. Lovely friendly staff, excellent quality food, had hot smoked salmon salad and a pizza, all fresh and well prepared, good wine list too. Have a boat in marina so will definitely be back. Great to hang out for a drink too
L. W.
Menu for eat in or take away.
Nice views across the water. Service very good. We had the burger and fish and chips which were really tasty and the berry crumble which was delicious.

What a beautiful setting on the waters edge over looking some stunning boats and views, even the restaurant is beautifully presented and decorated giving a warm and welcome feeling, the staff were so helpful and friendly which added to our experience especially it being our first visit and for sure won't be our last. The food was outstanding and the chef was accommodating to a personal request on a shared seafood platter which was bulging with fresh tasty seafood which i cannot recommend enough. Every part of our 2 course meal was beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyable.
Thanks for a enjoyable evening in these testing times.

I have been a regular customer at the BRIDGE for 6 months. The staff here are exceptional, in comparison with so many other venues in Plymouth. They show professionalism, kindness and always provide a warm welcome working as a team, under the guidance of a young and friendly
manager . A superb venue and worth a visit... aka.. THE LATTEE MAN
M. M.
We have been here many times, however we found the food to be fairly average rather than good and it was very expensive for what it was. Good for a coffee and cake but I’d not go for lunch/dinner, sadly though the service was excellent.
T.
Despite my parents slightly demanding custom, the staff were very friendly and sorted their nags with no issue :) Wonderful food as well, would also recommend a visit to the Turtley Corn Mill.
S. T.
Great food. Great service. Visited for a friend's birthday recently and everyone there was great - friendly, happy and professional.
A. G.
Visited for lunch during the week. Bit of a limited menu and quite pricey. Food was good quality and generous portions but still on the expensive side for what it was.
M. C.
We enjoyed the Haddock and the Sea Bass today. We've been at least half a dozen times in the last year, never fails to impress.
a. b.
First visit here. Pleasant decor, lovely food prompt service by friendly staff and a view over the marina. Thoroughly recommended
J. H.
Beautiful location and really friendly staff. Even when my little boy was having a meltdown the waitress cheered him up by letting him ring the bell! Food was really nice and staff are really friendly.
S. T.
Lovely new venue in the marina. Food was nice & reasonable prices for the view & setting. Local ales & ciders in addition to the usual stuff. Outside seating available & upstairs also.
T. B.
Booked for lunch Saturday, and the food was amazing (white chocolate cheesecake was a bit of a let down though). Friendly staff and a warm atmosphere help, and being right by the river helps!
N. H.
Great place to eat, excellent sea views of the Plym. Fast and friendly service, delicious food, will visit again.
W. S.
Smart modern decor well lit makes this a really pleasant place for dinner. Lovely views over the Marina Good well-made fresh food with good flavours. One of Plymouth and South Devon's best restaurants in my experience. Menu could be a little more imaginative.
N. G.
Lovely location, overlooking the water with the city of Plymouth and the Barbican in the distance. We arrived by boat, moored up for a couple of hours whilst we had lunch and the food was excellent. Considering it's location, the prices were pretty good too!
It's the first time we've been, but we'll be back many times in the future for sure.
s. l.
Lovely location. Nice staff. Very clean. average food.
b. r.
Went for lunch ,nice atmosphere, great staff and quality food.
K. M.
The location of the Bridge is stunning. The food is great but on a recent visit the service let it down. We ordered "While you wait" olives, bread etc but the actual starters arrived within minutes, the table was over crowded and the nibbles removed. The mains arrived very shortly afterwards. There was NO pause whatsoever and when asked if we would like a pudding - we had to ask for a break! We felt very rushed as if they wanted the 7pm table back by 8pm. As we stood to leave and take our jackets from the back of the chairs, the young staff were squeezing in between us to clear the table. It wasn't a great experience although the food was it's usual high standard.
V. B.
My friends and I had a wonderful experience lunching here. Great food and service with fabulous views. 👌❤️
R. T.
Nice food, good service, good value.
L. W.
Very lovely meal. Beautiful views. And great champagne.
Will be back very soon.
E. C.
Food was ok and atmosphere was nice but overpriced for what it was.
C. N.
Friendly staff and not crowded. However the service was not great. No cutlery, plates or napkins provided for the nibbles. We had to mix our own oil and balsamic vinegar for the the bread, which I found a little bizarre. Vegetarian options were few and not exciting. Pricey for what you get.
P. S.
Been staying @ sister pub/restaurant Turtley Corn Mill tried the Bridge as we were in the area. Not disappointed, both places excellent food & helpful efficient friendly staff. Bridge has views over River & pontoons, lovely ambience. Good parking too. These outlets set standards rarely found elsewhere.
P. C.
Nice place great view the food is good too
J. S.
Fantastic Sunday roast. We had the beef and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If you want cheap food go somewhere else, if you want quality food I thoroughly recommend The Bridge. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming and helpful staff. Thank you.
J. S.
Excellent meal, very well cooked and presented with attentive service and a beautiful setting. I would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great evening.
T. M.
Lovely restaurant the food was excellent it was my mums 99th birthday and the staff were excellent at making it special for her
G. P.
Fairly regular visitors here and the food is always good. However, we were told today that the chef would not change a fried egg for a poached one. Fairly minor issue but surely the customer determines what they want to eat? Our waiter was retasked to go back and approach the chef again and we eventually got the poached egg and an enjoyable meal. But, unnecessary aggravation from the kitchen left a sour taste!
M. F.
This is a beautiful venue..located at the marina of cloverly bay..I bought my mother here. We sat outside had the most Amazing views overlooking the marina..
My mum had a po t of tea. It came out in the most beautiful large glass tea pot..it was tea leaves. Had four large cups of tea out of the pot. Cost £3.
I had a luxury hot chocolate..with cream marmellows and a biscoff biscuit. Very nice cost £3.50..
It has a big outdoor Area .
Large indoor area.
Also upstairs seating and outdoor balcony..
It's a beautiful place lovely restaurant.
Main meals.
Carpark .
I very highly recommend this place..
J. A.
Sister to the Turtley Mill, favours seafood dishes. They have an upstairs adults only policy but there's plenty of room for families downstairs. They have a smashing sun terrace overlooking the marina and the sound.
Food is lovely, staff are lovely, location is lovely.
Oh and they do a good breakfast too.
M. H.
Lovely setting, bit of a hidden gem. Good serving staff Only grumble is that the chef could make more effort to change/add on the plant based food front (although this applies to 99.99% of places)
V. O.
Food excellence, friendly staff and the views from the restaurant was amazing.
K. P.
Loved my meal. Well looked after by the staff. Will recommend to my friends. A stunning location on a beautiful sunny day.
A. N.
Lovely food once again, the fish finger sandwiches were amazing. Great friendly service too!!
C. P.
Wedding Anniversary Dinner. Smoked salmon starter followed by loin of lamb (served pink) absolutely perfectly cooked and presented. As we both made same choice of menu we can't comment on other items. Sadly generous portions precluded space for pud! Wine (Rioja) perfect. Coffee excellent. All service also excellent. Staff welcoming, polite and very efficient.
m. s.
Not been here before. Went in the evening for Xmas meal. Xmas menu had a good choice, the main (belly pork), was amazing! Also, for a change in desert, I had the Christmas Knickerbocker glory, which was fab. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going again, and would definitely recommend x
J. J. J.
Second time visiting and the food was still amazing. Burger the first time was one of the best I've ever had and this time the steak sandwich and it was cooked to perfection and triple cooked chips insane, service is always excellent and safety measures in place for the Rona were very good.
J. H.
Good choice of food, all well presented. Best thing is the location, sat by the water and lots of boats. everything we had was great, especially the brownie 😋
P. M.
We had a birthday meal here and found the staff friendly and helpful. The food was excellent with a good menu to choose from. A lovely setting, overlooking the water with a modern feel to the restaurant itself. Definitely worth a visit and we will return again soon.
S. T.
Delicious food, recommended the Hearty Salad, it did not disappoint, Scampi also delicious. Are you doing the warm potato salad with bacon and scallops again? My favourite dish ever at The Bridge.
R. W.
5 stars on food, service, atmosphere, view, everything you could want from somewhere that feels fancy but not stuffy and soulless. Fresh honest food as far as I could tell, and smiles all round.
C. W.
Excellent venue, unhurried but not slow service. Each of the meals sampled within our group was excellently produced and savoured
C. W.
We visited The Bridge, having booked a table on Wednesday 3rd July and found it to be very pleasantly appointed inside. The restaurant manager was very helpful, polite and engaging. The food itself was very good, a nice balance of flavours and good attention to detail.
What particularly impressed me was the following morning, upon turning up at 9:10am and finding the doors closed until 9:30am the restaurant manager appeared, opened the door and invited us in with the words 'come on in the coffee is already on'. Outstanding service from a chap who had clearly had to work the long into the previous night, opening a full twenty minutes early for his customers. Really top drawer service and not something one often sees in this day and age. Top marks all round and the coffee and breakfast itself was excellent.
G. B.
Our first meal out since lockdown, we have been a few times before always excellent food and service but what would it be like socially distancing. We need not to have worried the food as always was excellent the views fantastic but its the service and the way its done thats so good well done team .
K. S.
Just a nice marine and good food
A. C.
Nice food, although my mash was only luke warm. Waiter behind bar a bit obnoxious saying can you step away for my safety when trying to see what gin they had, yet the night before he didnt seem to care about us when serving and leaning over us with no mask! All other staff lovely
N. C. (.
A good experience overall, but from everything I had heard and read I was expecting better. Food was 'nice' and good value with decent portion sizes. Service was quite slow at times. As I say, there was nothing significantly wrong, it just didn't live up to my expectations.
B. B.
Our family enjoyed a very pleasant evening here, in celebration of our granddaughters 20 birthday. The staff were very attentive and pleasant, helping with birthday greeting. The food was excellent, enjoyed by all. Can certainly recommend The Bridge, and will return for future occasions.
A. D.
Excellent full English breakfast , polite very friendly staff as always . Having sampled several takeaway meals over the Covid restrictions, the Bridge has managed to maintain a very high standard for customs, many thanks and stay safe.
P. J.
Maritime location with views over the marina and across the Plym.
Good service. Wines are limited and over priced. Food isn't quite as special as the price either. Great for a drop-in pint or drink on a walk around the local area.
N. W.
Thank you to all the staff at the Bridge. You were so obliging and attentive. The service and food was top mark. Thank you for catering for us at such a sensitive time. Everyone remarked on how this was a Right Royal Send Off for my late husband. I can only thank you all again for breakfast for 30 on 15th June 2019. Warmest regards to all the staff
s. p.
Nice venue, however, our meal wasn't as nice as I'd hoped! The Pheasant was chewy with an artery through it and the veg was watery which made the gravy runny. It's a shame as we've been before and had an absolutely amazing meal. Maybe just a bad day. Would still recommend it though.
P. H.
A delicious evening of Greek food and wine. Absolutely glorious and very highly recommended. £35 for three substantial, not forgetting deliciou, courses and wine with each course plus a glass of sparkling wine as a welcome. A bargain!!!! Thank you for a lovely convivial evening.
J. D.
Good service and food, watch out for the food opening hours, they end before normal closing and are on a good to know page on their web site, not hours or dining pages, caused me to have a wasted trip first time. Outside seating was full late on a summer Saturday evening, you'll need good luck to get a spot at busy times. Baked cod and mash was good, creme brulé and sorbet a nice combination, photos of each posted.
R. J.
Great Sunday lunch. Plenty of choice, nice venue and friendly staff. We were a party of 12 and our courses were served hot and all together. Rest rooms available and parking is free.
C. M.
In addition to great food, hospitality and service, Covid precautions first class. Only compromised by the odd plonker who exercises their right to inflict their objection to protect others and themselves by wearing a face covering. Sad there are such selfish, thoughtless individuals in society.
D. B.
Nice enough, food was ok but the roast was overpriced at 20 quid plenty of better value Sunday roast lunch options in the locality, efficient, friendly staff.
H. P.
Lovely setting and atmosphere and attentive service. However the breakfast menu is quite basic (no smashed avocado in 2019?!) and relatively expensive for what it is. Cheap bread let it down big time.
R. G.
Modern and trendy a good watering hole with imaginative menu, well located in Mountbatten, a good place to relax and watch the world go by, especially if you are interested in boats and all things nautical.
R. W.
Had 5 stars before but reduced by one tonight, could have gone lower but for previous good experiences. Good food as usual but upstairs was forgotten about once manager left, we weren't the only customers to notice. Main course half cleared and rest only done half an hour later when we complained. Shame as my birthday.
M. D. G.
Great view of the yachts in the haven, contempory building and decor with a modern fire place. Polite efficient staff, as I would have expected from the other half of the Turtley Corn Mill group. The food looked good, would have liked more gin choice ;)
S. L.
Great food and friendly service. Relaxed casual dining. Parking close often difficult necessitating a short walk.
Be sure to pop upstairs and see the beautiful reef tank too.
Balcony views ace in summertime.
M.
Only stopped for a beer which was great! I've only marked down due to weird outside shed service point. Doesn't make sence to stand there and wait when there is no one at the bar
R. S.
Lovely food, great views and friendly service
C. B.
Beautiful views across the water, service is always quick and faultless. The food is fantastic, fresh and full of flavour. Will continue to come back, and would always recommend
J. O.
My husband and I had our wedding breakfast here! Tom and Martha and many others went above and beyond to help and make our day perfect, and it was! The food was outstanding as it always is! Thank you from the bottom of my heart xxx
N. M.
Loverly place, great food. Has an upstairs with balcony and fish tank, downstairs has an outside area where you can eat and drink, inside is nice and has a bar . Advisable to check and book at the weekend as sometimes it's booked out for a wedding. Loverly views over the marina, a hidden gem well worth a visit.
h. w.
Wonderful food and great staff, too much food to be honest so well worth the money. We will be going back.
P. B.
Food ok very overpriced
M. H.
Nice food, swift service. Perhaps a little too quick. It would've been better to have had some time to drink and chat.
J. A. L.
Good service, excellent food, generous helpings, lovely views of the water
M. H.
Amazing!! Fabulous food, great staff, amazing venue/view!! Couldn't fault it. All 25 of us in the group had an amazing time, thanks so much for your welcome and kindness
S. M.
Excellent Christmas meal, excellent service. Would definitely go again and recommend to anyone to try.
N. S.
Good food and service. Fantastic views. Exceptional decor and ambience. A tad pricy, but you'd expect that from a yacht club. Reservations recommended. A wonderful choice for a special occasion or a splurge.
G. B. M. G.
Absolutely fantastic! Great food and excellent service. Atmosphere was nice even with the bad weather and great views of the harbour. Would recommend the Sunday roast
C. D.
Pricey, but fantastic views.
E. M.
Enjoyed my visit here. Polite staff, good food, well presented, maybe a little pricey.
D. S.
Very nice place great staff .
Good food. We go there regular. Love it.
S. J.
Superb restaurant serving great food. I've dined there several times and not been disappointed.
h. s.
Fab atmosphere, lovely food, excellent skilled friendly staff. Great view from the window
D. L.
What a great place to have a birthday lunch food and staff excellent, really enjoyed and have booked our return. Thanks to all involved. 👍👍👍
A. K.
Love this place. Sits on a harbour, beautiful view of Plymouth and sparkling waters filled with yachts and boats. I usually go for a brunch and have salmon and egg. Always delicious. Last night had the sweet potatoe and leek lasagne which was incredible and a mouth watering marble cheesecake. Maybe my best cheesecake experience yet. Washed down with a beautiful Pinot Grigio. Mothers birthday dinner was perfect and the staff were lovely.
P. D.
Was here for our 2nd wedding anniversary and I loved the personal touch they did for us on our table.
The food is incredible and filling.
Will return in the "sea able future" .
S. C.
Very very beautiful location....good staff and nice food...little pricey tho for the amount you get hence 4 star.....but nice treat to go here once in while especially when the sun is out. Overlooking a marina. Quite a romantic place for an evening meal too.
A. L.
Awesome venue, great food and even a sunset
J. H.
Great food, great service, able to accommodate a large group, really lovely evening
J. H.
Second visit, this time I booked for my parents golden wedding anniversary. Great food, great service, great venue and a lovely experience. Thanks to all the staff that night.
K. P.
Friendly service, great food as always, looking cosy and festive at the moment!
S. J.
Very friendly staff, good food, nice atmosphere. Would always recommend.
H.
Well, what can I say? Beautiful view, well presented and family friendly. Friendly staff and as for the food, absolutely delicious. A faultless visit for sure.
A. F.
Nice but a bit pricey drink wise we found. Glad it wasn't my round for this place.
J. B.
Great food friendly staff nice views
J. S.
Book a table! Busy - for a great reason. Excellent food, excellent view. And the people were great.
E. K.
Food was good and very pleasant restaurant and vista. Disappointingly no ipa though and no hendrix but they do have fever tree so...
A. E.
Amazing food, however young ladies working here are all very unfriendly. Quite happy to do what the job requires but by no means go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Won’t return.
N. A.
Came here in the summer, great menu. Back for winter. Monkfish Curry, delicious.....
H. N. T. W. b.
Food, service, and location were all exceptionally good, we went for a friends birthday lunch and the staff couldn't have more accommodating. Absolutely perfect.
S. D.
Fabulous food and nice staff, present surroundings. Bit pricey for the quality though. Would recommend definitely
A. W.
Excellent service and helpful staff, a great menu and the food is top table. The views of the water front are brilliant.
T. M.
Great food. Friendly staff. Huge chocolate cheesecake..sooo good.
S. S.
Tasty food, service friendly although drinks v expensive and dessert menu extortionate at £7 per choice...so loses a star for this. Probably aimed at the wealthier marina clientele rather than passing trade or holiday trade.
B. S.
If you ever want a wedding reception venue and aren't sure where to book, then look no further! It was our wedding on 2nd April and it was brilliant! We cannot praise the The Bridge highly enough. The organisation, the food, the service , the staff. Everything was spot on.
OK, so we are gushing a little, but praise where praise is due. Many of our guests came from far afield and all commented on The Bridge. A perfect day, with a perfect venue and the sun shone as well! What more could you ask for? Sandy & Jackie. Turnchapel.
P. B.
Fantastic food and great staff. Lovely location to sit and look out over to the Barbican. The veggie breakfast is superb!
A. G.
I always like dining here. The food is good, prices reasonable, parking easy and staff friendly. Plus a log fire in the winter... Love it.
K. E.
Lovely home cooked food .
C. G.
Lovely place , excellent food . Visited a couple of times and never been disappointed with the food or service
L. K.
Very smart, lovely views over the harbour. Food was well cooked with very generous portions. Would recommend a visit
C. W.
We love going there for lovely meals, staff are friendly food is great good price. Amazing sea views
D. M.
From.beginning to end the experience was most enjoyable....the waitress couldn't do more to help us ...the food was superb and most enjoyable....and piping hot! Will undoubtedly eat there again in the future!
N. C.
Just called in for lunch after taking some one to the marina. Nice location and good value food - pizzas were a great lunchtime snack. Staff very helpful and friendly.
M. B.
Beautiful place to eat and enjoy company. Harbour views from almost all seats.
I. W.
Place and views great. Food good quality and up-market, but let down by iffy service and waiters who were boarderline rude.
P. J.
On a sunny day the balcony is the place to be overlooking the marina and passing vessels. View across to Barbican. Limited selection of ales and food is on the pricey side for what you get. Book early for Sunday lunch roast.
S. L.
Food was good we felt very safe service was good prices have increased from last year but still pretty good value
R. B.
Very good food and very friendly staff. I definitely recommend it.
C. D.
The food is amazing and all but the only thing was they didn't bring my ice cream we had to asked twice for it for that reason we didn't give a tip
N. E.
Excellent service, really class! And the food is great too.
Just a little bad point : the lack of choice for Vege people.
G. W.
Quality eatery overlooking the Marina (River Plym). Warm, friendly atmosphere & easy access for disabled ♿ although limited parking 🅿. You will not be disappointed 👍
C. G.
Lovely food...lovely views over the estuary. They accommodate dogs in some areas. Staff were very nice
P. E.
Lovely food. Made to feel most well come. Good atmosphere.
I. B.
Lovely food and a nice atmosphere. What else do we want or need when we go eat out?
J. T.
Food good but could be hotter and service a little slow.
W. S.
Easy parking.
A great view of the marina.
Great food and wonderful service in very pleasant surroundings with a nautical theme.
C. M.
Friendly staff, food was fairly average. Very slow service but somewhat understandable in the covid world.
C. B.
A great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks. Nice view of the river plym and the marina. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere always warm.
B. B.
Breakfast menu better than expected and reasonable value. However, it could be better if they did free coffee refills and bigger pots of tea.
D. B.
Lovely staff and amazing food, did not feel rushed definitely will be back
r. r.
Very nice good food and friendly staff would recommend it to everyone excellent
J. H.
The food was excellent, and and at a decent price, but the price of bottle of red wine was absolutely scandalous, the price of the bottle we purchased was £34, so for this reason we will not be returning.
D.
I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and the portions were very large
K. S.
Been here several times now, they always seem to have a varied menu. A great place to sit and eat and watch the world go by.
D. J.
Had a really nice breakfast here, lots on the menu to choose from. Nice and friendly staff, but not too attentive, just right.
J. H.
Great setting, lovely atmosphere, beautiful food
P. T.
Good, family friendly restaurant offering reasonably priced food with good service. Recommended.
N. L.
Friendly staff. Food average but expensive for what it is. Dogs allowed and overall a nice place to eat. Nothing special but worth a visit.

d. m.
Excellent food attentive but not hovering staff, big tables.. highly recommended
T. M.
Wonderful setting friendly service and great quality of food
J. C.
I thought it was fine,I did think the staff should wear masks on bringing stuff to the table
a. v.
A bit on the "average " side. Expensive for what we had but maybe being charged for the view.
Probably wouldn't bother again
I. L.
