Alright but only alright. Ordered onion rings and at 8 for £2 I assumed they'd be homemade. Nope, I got 7 (cook needs to learn to count) onion rings that had come out of the freezer, and I had to wait over ten minutes for them. Not good. The chips were okay, my BF said the fishcake was good but not the best he's had. Next time I'm coming through and decide to visit I'll just get chips and hopefully won't have to wait so long for them.

Called in at dinner today got fish and chips in a box for me and hubby .it was fantastic the fish tasted amazing.my hubby is a fussy fish person and he loved every bit of it and the chips and peas were just as good x

Foods ok but you order online to pick up. You turn up an atill gave to qeue and they dont have tour ordwr ready they just do it as you arrive so whats point in booking inline for a slot. Im disabled so i order in advance an expect to pick it up. Not wait

Food is tasty whatever you order. All the staff are always a happy bunch. Always immaculate. Does seem a tad on the expensive side. Quality 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Portions 5/5 Friendliness 5/5 Prices 4/5 but if the other areas all score 5/5 I'd rather pay a bit more to maintain them. Highly recommended. I actually have 3 or 4 nearer chip shops but still go here. I'm a fan!

It was clean the food was freshly cooked the fish was lightly battered and tasty. The chips were the best I have had for a long time It is better than the 4 star rating I have given. But I am not giving it 5 no reason other than it was a small order for 2 I will give it 5 if the family order I occasionally get is of the same quality.

What a chip shop, best in Bamber Bridge. The chips were perfect, all food warm and cooked to our timeslot after booking online. The spring role was heavy and well filled, the battered sausage crisp and nourish, chicken burger had lovely soft bread and the sauces a great taste to the side, not watery or cold. I'm not a huge chippy fan but I am when we go here. Well priced too!

Having just recently moved to the local area, we were wondering what the local fish and chip shop is like and we weren't disappointed. I had the seafood basket (mixture of cod, calamari, squid and prawns) with chips and tartar sauce, which was fantastic and really good taste. The staff were friendly and despite being very busy, everything was ready within 5-10 minutes. Other members of my family ordered sausages, halloumi sticks and a burger. We were all impressed and will certainly be back soon.

I ordered a number of fish, chips, peas and curry for the family, amongst other bits and bobs. The fish was soft and flaky and the chips were tasty. The staff was also really friendly, not to mention patient as we changed our order a few times. I have been to other chippies in the area before but I was happier spending my money here for quality than anywhere else. I will definitely be going back.

Best Chippy in Preston area in my opinion.Some chippies are good one day and poor the next but John Dory's is a good nine out of ten everytime.I drive 5 miles to it and they have never let me down once.👏👏👏👏

Although the fish tasted nice it was on the smaller size, and the chips were rather more greasy than I prefer.... Price wise it's reasonable, and the staff were friendly and plenty of choice. To be fair it's a proper chippy with out all the pizzas and kebabs that many chippies now seem to do today..

I love this place. Especially on a Saturday night when I have my chippy tea. It's closed Friday when I finish work so my chippy tea is Saturday. Always great service.

The best chippy ever. Honestly don’t know why some of these on here are so bad. Chips are amazing, curry and gravy are both perfect. Battered sausage are out of this world! Such lovely staff, would give it 100 stars if I could. Well done. Me and my boyfriend will always be loyal customers to you 😀

Unfortunately this place has definitely gone downhill since the management change... Used to be brilliant - was never cheap but was worth the prices as the food was always spot on. Nowadays the food is still decent enough (although not quite what it was) but the prices have rocketed - I just paid over £7 for fish, chips, peas and gravy. It's the kind of price list you'd expect on a sea front, not in the middle of Bamber Bridge. A real shame. Fortunately The Contented Sole is only a mile away!

One of the highlights of moving to Bamber Bridge was finding this fantastic fish and chips shop just round the corner. Have to say when it changed hands we panicked thinking the quality would go down, guess what IT DID NOT we go once a week without fail never ever been disappointed wonderful quality the fish is to die for and the chips take me back to my childhood some 40+ years ago.

John Dory Fish Bar in Bamber Bridge is well worthy of a 5 star rating, it has its own unique charm by combining the new ultramodern look (due to the recent refurbishment) whilst still maintaining the variety, taste and values of a good old fashioned British 'chippy'. Add that to the fact that the owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming and you have, in my opinion, the perfect modern 'fish and chip' shop and well worth a visit!!! 😀👍

My mum gets us the food from John dory and I actually used to leave my house and go and collect it when my mum had ordered it and I think all the negative reviews are incorrect, the food is awesome, prices are natural for a chippy in Bamber Bridge.

I am a regular visitor to this chippy and usually happy with the food. But on this occasion my bf found the gravy was a bit too salty. So he took it back and complained but was told there is nothing wrong with it and refused to give him a replacement. Needless to say we probably won't be going back 👎
