One of the best restaurant in Reading. Go for rice with lamb chunks and kebab with nan. Only negative side is that they offer and extra free of charge Salad that I whish they ask before serving. I Usually don’t touch and most likely go to waste.

Very honest opinion- I use to go to Molana in Ealing/West London, but since they changed their prices/showed more attitude/stop giving salads and sauce with take away and smaller option, we have switched to Kobeda Palace. The price/Food quality/Food taste and the service is excellent. The owner even gave our kids some sweeties in the end 🙂 I'm so glad we have found such an amazing restaurant who gives generous amount of food and are also friendly. Look forward to returning here again.

The food is still good, everything tastes nice but just one thing! the kabuli pulau is now just boiled zeera rice with carrots thrown on top, you should be using the proper long grain rice with raisins and cooked seperatly not zeera rice, what is this? it used to be real kabuli pulao ? What happened to the real kabli pulau you used to do? Unfortunately this is not kabuli pulao.Big disappointment.

Well Kobeda Place is quite far from we are but we are a regular customer. What we like is the uncompromising level of quality of food in the same traditional larger portions that you may get somewhere in Afghanistan. Food is quite authentic too hence it is quite popular among the local people and people like us who would happily travel from Guildford to Reading. The setup is pretty basic and does appeal all not a few. Prices are a great value too. They could do with some friendly customer orientated waiting staff but not saying it's bad. We've been to worst. Good luck guys you're doing a great job!

The best korahi lamb I've ever tasted! Been 3 times this. Chilled clean place for a late night real charcoal kebab and mint tea. HOWEVER kindly ensure the 1/4 kilo of Korai is a adequate adult portion for 1 person, not a tiny kiddies portion for £7.50. An adult shouldn't have to pay £15 for 1/2 a kilo to get an acceptable size portion. I'm only making a pint of saying thus because I really love it and want this place to be my regular late night pitstop

Food was good. Chips are the standard frozen try not the fresh cut one's. Lamb chops not great but the rice kobeda and grilled chicken was really good. 5 stars if they improve there lamb chops and use fresh cut chips rather then the frozen type.

It was late at midnight, when I went to get something to eat, because I'm not a fast food fan, I was wondering which place might offer me something to eat at this hour. So far, I have not had any experience with Afghan cuisine, I decided to go inside, I was accepted and served extremely warmly and friendly. I chose the first dish from Menu, QUABILY PALLOW from the lamb which I love, I took the dish home. At the moment when I tried to open my meal at home, I was very surprised. I have never eaten anything so delicious and wonderfully prepared, and the lamb literally melts in my mouth. I am very picky when it comes to eating out of the restaurant, but this restaurant is one of the few in Reading which certainly will not visit again, because I know that I will eat a healthy, fresh meal with an unheard-of taste. I would highly recommend

Had a takaway kebab from there on a Friday night. It was early but they were completely empty. There is a seating area and it's a little basic. Service was fine. The kobeda lamb and chicken kebab I had was delicious! Fresh tandoori naan. Salad is packed seperately which is good because it doesn't go warm. Price was fair. They don't do donar kebabs. I overheard the guy on the till say that they deliver. Well worth a visit.

The team here always make me and my friends feel welcome, if we're having an afternoon meal, or a kebab after the ale festival. Great flavor from their charcoal grill, you can taste the difference.

Regardless of your origin, one must try Afghani food if you are in Reading town. I believe this is the best place in town to try out Afghani menu. Variety of food including Chicken Al faham, Qabily Palaow, Sultani Kebab are the main course which can fill your heart. A Must try place. Service is comparatively good but there is a room for an improvement, which is a general phenomena in every other restaurant anyway.
