The best Nepalese food restaurant in Reading. Genuine and quality Nepalese food at a super price. Anytime I am around Reading, I stop by Sapana. It's one of the greatest gems of Reading. My favs: chicken or veg momo, chicken chow mein, buffalo sukuti, sel roti and chai.

I was there for momos and they didn't disappointed me. It's quite well known restaurant to a particular community and that's it's customer base. Therefore, it is very busy during evenings and weekends. People come here to have a authentic taste of food they use to reminisce and just as expected some make you happy, some don't. There are lots of variety of Nepalese food most sought after ones- momos, chow mein (Nepali style) and almost everything that you remember of. Be aware, despite their efficiency serving may be late, of course, it's not fast food! The ambience is ok, it not superb but makes you feel cozy. Staffs were friendly and helpful. For some the bar is along with a wash basin and next to the toilet, may be not a good combination. Go and check out whether Sapana Home fulfills your dreams or it happens to be a dreadful dream😜. Enjoy.

Just found the most amazing Nepalese cafe in Reading. The Thaali (I had the Veg curry and green lentil option) is just stunning...........authentic, rural and homely. The Roti was so freshly made it was to hot to pick up. What more could you ask for?

Great food. Authentic Nepali cuisine. Must have the momos (steamed dumplings). We have been here a few times now and brought people who otherwise discounted Sapna Home because of the location and because Nepali food is not as common as Indian food. The food is actually very similar to Indian food and full of flavours. You must visit this place if you enjoy experimenting with food. You won't be disappointed.

Try the Johl momos: it’s a slightly spiced stewed tomato soup with your choice of momo(dumpling with filling) (chicken, pork, veg, water buffalo), this is then topped wth crunchy red onions and garnished with cilantro (coriander leaves). It’s hearty, Moorish and very filling on a cold winters day! The dumplings are cooked well, they are chewy and delish!!

We were traveling long distance and decided to take a short break at Reading for supper. The best rated restaurant close by was Sapana. And having eaten loads of Nepalese food in Malaysia, I was very happy to dig into some more. This place turned out to be as good as it's rating suggests. Great food, very good prices and the perfect balance of spices that is so important in food from the Indian subcontinent.

Excellent, authentic Nepalese food. I had the Thali with salmon curry - each little portion had a tonne of flavour. It was spicy but not excessively so. The portions were on the small side but I anticipated that so a cheeky extra piratha sorted me out! The other thing to note is the prices which are very reasonable - you'll eat really well for £15.

I have little experience of Nepalese food so no idea if it is authentic. Lost a star because I had to wait ages for my takeaway and then they gave me the wrong dish but as I was new to all of it, I was happy to try the one they gave me (Jholi Momo - pork). The service seems a bit curt but I think that's just the language barrier. I quickly forgave them everything as the food was piping hot, so I suspect cooked to order (hence the long wait) and it tasted fresh and frankly delicious! I would go again but perhaps order before I get there next time!

It is just simply awesome, the first time that I have tried Nepalese food, I would recommend to try this place to everyone who likes to try new kind of food, the menu has pictures of everything so you know exactly what you order, what we most like was the plate with chickpeas, yogurt, fried noodles... Visited on a sunday evening, some of the reviews said service was slow, but we had a great service. Dishes are priced well for portions served here. People who thrive on spicy food will love this place. Nepalese food shares the same Indian spice palette, but with a twist. Going to revisit this place if I happen to be around Reading again. We did request our dishes to be extra hot and they turned to be good. Highly recommend momos and bhel puri here.

Lovely little place at the heart of Reading. Its a no brainer why Sapna Home is the most popular and arguably the most beloved Nepalese restaurant in all of Berkshire. Yummy food and cozy seating makes for a quality time with friends and family. I am not a frequent visitor but my every visit has been special. that said, there's always a room for improvement. :)

Good place to get homely food especially if you are craving for momos, thupka etc. Samosas are average, but Samosa chat is a must try here. The only challange is sitting capacity as it is not a specious place and mostly crowded. So you won't get a place to sit easily.

This restaurant faces the same predicament as most other good South Asian restaurants in UK. The food is excellent! The trouble with that is the local palate is not suited to any Indian food with is not korma, tikka masala or vindaloo. Moreover, this is a family run Nepali restaurant selling traditional Nepali and North-east Indian fare, and some central/east Indian food such as puri (fried wheat bread). You will rarely get these in most Indian restaurants. Hopefully, there are enough adventurous people around to give it a try, and appreciate it.
