Overall a good meal out for five of us, great burger, good vegetarian dish and starter. 2 mixed grills had overdone steaks (Not surprising as they are small for a mixed grill) and too much gristle to enjoy. 2 of the five dessert menus had alternative desserts which weren't available. Sticky toffee pudding was nice but came with custard and not icecream as on the menu.

We ate on the bar side, due to the restaurant side being busy. The food was good and came out in a reasonable time. The only gripe was the parking spaces were not very big. They're ok if you have a small car, but my truck stuck out by about 3 feet. Luckily it wasn't too busy. Wouldn't deter me from going there again though.

Can’t fault the food or service. Didn’t have to wait long. It’s easy to get to and has a large car park next to it. Right opposite the New Forest where you can burn off all the calories you have just eaten. I would recommend it as a visitor to the area and you may have to book in the busier period’s.

My partner and I love this pub and call in every so often on our way back from visiting relatives nearby. Every time we do we are always greeted in a friendly manner and although we rarely make reservations they always try their best to find us a table. The food is exactly what we are after in terms of gastro pub style comfort food and the prices are perfectly reasonable for what you get. I would highly recommend stopping here for food during a nice day out with the family/ a walk in the new forest

Had a Sunday roast for a family birthday. Xavier made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we booked until we left. We ordered 2 gammon roasts, a beef roast and 3 kids’ meals. Considering it was 4pm it was impressive that the beef wasn’t dry at all. The kids’ 3 course meals were exceptional value for the price and we were very envious when their pancake desserts arrived. My boyfriend upgraded for £1 which was well worth it. The only other roasts locally are double the price! We will definitely be back! Gemma, Neil & Family

Looks good from the road, however, my shoes sticking to the wooden floor at the bar reminded me of being in an 80's nightclub. They could still be the same, it has been a while!. Can only describe as grubby. Wood work repainted in places with different shade, tables dirty. Lampshades had not seen a duster for a long time. Food average. Sauce had been dished up for a day or so and had a brown skin, coleslaw was brown in places but burger was cooked well. Cheese on the burger had a sweat on as if it had just run a marathon and lettuce shared the same limp brown as the coleslaw. Would only describe as average. Not somewhere I would go a second time despite initial apperance from the road.

Couldn't accommodate us enough. They are following all the rules with Track and Trace and with keeping your distance etc. And yet they have made it soo smooth in doing it you wouldn't know it wasn't a normal thing to do. Food is nice pub grub and was within an excepted time. Prices are great, staff are great especially the Irish Manager.

Had a family Christmas meal here. The food was well cooked - veg still crisp, turkey not dry - and the mince pie cheesecake was a lovely change from Christmas pudding. The service was slow throughout, from being the 5 minutes wait until someone noticed we were waiting, to nearly 20 minutes after finishing our main (and stacking our plates) before someone checked our table. The restaurant was not particularly busy but did look as though there were only 2 staff working the tables, however staff were friendly and apologetic about the wait.

Great place for a quick bite to eat- a fan of the "Double Stack Steak Burger with Bacon and Cheese" however more often or not the burger has been left under a heat lamp and is quite generic, as expected of a chain but not unpleasant. I'd highly advise against purchasing a steak here though some would consider that kinda obvious given its a chain, prices aren't incredible but not bank breaking. Whilst I say it's a great place for a quick bite to eat in actuality service at times (even when empty) is phenomanlly slow though I think this is due to mistakes and delays in orders, however the staff (except for a gentleman who seems slightly too blunt) are incredibly warm and friendly and don't hesitate to help.

Great quality food at great prices you really can’t go wrong with the heath and it’s almost always busy with people. In the summer there’s a garden to sit outside but in the winter it feels nice and cosy. The only thing that lets this place down is the toilets. They need a deep clean for sure.

What a fantastic early festive dinner. Great size, great quality and great value. Staff couldn't do enough to help in any way they could. The heath is a great place for a bite to eat if your in the new forest area, it has a good menu which is varied and reasonably priced and a good selection of wines/beers and ciders at the bar. Also has good car parking facilities and is near the main routes into the forest and calshot.

The interior is stunning since the makeover of the pub and it is more spacious and family frieny or suitable for bigger groups due to the large tables fitting arpund the pub. The food is a bit pricy but the quality is quite high when it comes to the actual meals that are served.

Can't fault to waiting staff! We had to return a couple of the starters as they were cold but came back piping hot. The chicken burger was very over cooked and chips were cold. But the other three mains were very good! It was very busy with a good atmosphere!

Enjoyed our food and received good service. Very busy when we went so I recommend booking a table (fortunately we had). Kids enjoyed their food and ate all of their spaghetti bolognese and sausage and mash, so we were happy. Only downside (which really is nothing) is that they had run out of crayons for the colouring mats for the kids but like I say, that really is only a small negative. We had a 40% off voucher so our bill was relatively small too.

Bless them, the staff were trying their best!! But there were far to few staff to handle the numbers that were there, tables left while we waited for our food, which was worrying. To get from ordering, through starters and finishing mains took from 6pm until 8:45pm, I had to send my main back as it was so over done it wasn't really edible(parts were edible but not really what you go out for), the manager was very good and removed it and offered to refire it because he was aware how long we'd been there, I declined as we had run out of time and had young children that were getting bored at tired, the chips on all of our plates were over done and cold. A couple of people in our group had good meals but unfortunately the were the minority, others would have returned meals if they weren't so hungry from waiting. My girlfriend was very confused about the egg on her gammon steak, both over cooked and snotty at the same time🤔🤔

This was my first time at The Heath. The inside is just as inviting as the outside, very cosy. We went there for a birthday family meal. The food was cooked real nice and nicely presented though i felt that the meat portions on my mixed grill were a bit on the small side but was still plentiful. I felt it was a bit on the pricy side too as they kindly gave us 40% off with a voucher and yet 3 drinks and meals and a desert came to well over £60 so would have been over £100 without the voucher. If moneys no object, then this is the place to be but if you're disabled, on benefits without a pension then this might be the first and unfortunately the last time I come here.

The Heath is a place we visit quite a lot and enjoy the food. However the Decor is now getting very Shabby and needs an update . As you walk in there is an area with chairs for you to sit in if you have to wait for a Table. The chairs are in a dreadful state, the cloth is dirty and the Foam stuffing is hanging out .Not very welcoming to people arriving . The Staff are friendly but we had wait a long time for the food and Bill .☹️

This is a pub that I have been drinking in for about 20 years now. Only 3 stars because I feel that the customer service and the process in the Heath has a lot to be desired. There are always staff floating around the pub but only a few of them are able to serve you at the bar. The bar service is very slow and it seems like the simple task of serving a pint takes longer than it should. If they speed up service, they would probably find that people would drink more on each visit. Its a nice enough venue and the food is still good, just a shame that the customer service is lacking. Not that it will stop me drinking here when I visit the area
