Reviews of The Jetty

Incredible setting: with beautiful views of the harbour. Food was amazing and staff attentive. Every dish was delivered with presentation in mind, as you would expect from a place like this. If you like your fish/shellfish, go for the mixed sea food grill. Clams, mussels, bream, bass, mackerel, King prawns. Nom! Would highly recommend for a nice treat.

Delicious seafood and fresh daily catch fish. We ordered a mixed dish grill and crab n cod and they tasted really nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. View over the harbour is also splendid.

Had the 6 course tasting menu. Great service, excellent food. Had a really nice table next to the window. Easy to get to and has parking.

The Jetty is a great place to have a meal and treat your other half or for any fancy occasion. My first time there I was very impressed with the decor, friendly service by Matheus, Alex, Veronica and Sophia. The food is spectacular and very well presented. They have very special plates for seafood and great starters. The views are to the ocean village marina and so very calming ambience and romantic atmosphere. I could not find any faults and will definitely recommend for a night out.

Visited in October 2020, we were beyond impressed every step of the way. We had 3 courses, wine and dessert. The seabass and turbot were perfection and bursting with flavour. The wine selection was fantastic and the chocolate fondant and chocolate with raspberriy encased in sphere of chocolate was a trully impressive thing. There was no pretentiousness or flaw anywhere to be seen, unlike in other places like my previous French restaurant review which I recommend you read. The service was excellent. We were left in the happiest culinary nirvana, just looking at each other with a 'wow' face. The decor was fantastic.
I am really aching to go back, VERY HIGHLY recommended!

Food was great for the price, one of the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. If you love seafood this is the best place to go in Southampton.

Been here multiple times, I think some dishes give me a feeling that they are pre-cooked as their surface look dehydrated

Beautiful meal for a special occasion. Service excellent. Lovely setting.

My partner and I visited The Jetty this weekend with a friend. We had been offered a complimentary meal a few years a go but hadn't gotten around to booking it. We were very grateful that this had been honoured, even though it was several years on.
Everything was absolutely impeccable. We could not fault a thing. The service was outstanding and they always remembered everyone's order when it came to serving. Touches like this is what makes The Jetty stand out. The food itself was absolutely stunning. Each component was cooked to perfection. We were so pleased with our whole dining experience and cannot wait to come back. We're just disappointed we left it so many years! Thank you for everything and we will be back soon.

The service and decor here are second to none and can’t be faulted. The food presentation is also very nice and to a high standard. What you would expect from the relatively high prices. We have had several very good meals here, but found the standard we’d come to expect slightly lower on our last two visits. Which is a shame. The starters were really nice and I think they get these right. But the main courses were the issue in places. Some of the meat was over cooked for example. My duck was meant to be pink, but it was cooked through. The hotel is also extremely busy with domestic staycations on the rise. This is obviously very good for the hotel, but the knock on effect on parking is noticeable. With very few spaces available and queuing likely. We’ve had to park in the multi-storey on an occasion. Which is free, but a 5 minute walk.

A place of luxury but one where you also feel comfortable. The food is amazing and bursts with flair and taste yet it remains reasonably priced. The staff are attentive yet relaxed and the whole ambience is just first class. As we left after celebrating my wifes birthday having had the mini taster menu I said to the manager 'you just get it right every time' What more can you say?

Service is slow, prices are higher than the exact same menu in the restaurant on the 6th floor which has better views. Female concierge I think is an actual robot. Charged us £85 for a bottle of champagne we never had so keep an eye on your bill. Food was OK, not great. I think you come here for the kudos rather than the experience.

Food was great and so was the ambience... they took my friends drink before he finished drinking and then noticed and gave it back.
Service charge was fishy we paid 50 pounds! Def will go back because it was still great. Just get your wallet out for the service

Spent a night in Southampton and had a lovely dinner experience at the Jetty. Lovely food and service was great. Luckily it wasn't busy... the view on the port from the restaurant is stunning. Definitely recommend!

Had a lovely meal here. Service was excellent and the food was also very good. The Bouilobase was in my top 3 ever - vying for no.1 slot. ! Lovely sized bowl and portion. Did not skimp at all Wish I had taken a photo. Gorgeous, rich lobster stock. Also served with a herb bread and garlic aioli. Main had a crab crusted cod with mash. This wasn't as good imo as crust was a bit salty for my taste - also, the mash was too salty. Girlfriend had the whole sea bass on the bone with stir fried vegetables, which was great. I wish I'd have gone for that. We had liquor coffee's for desert. Great. Would certainly return here and would recommend to anyone local or visiting who wants a touch of finery and quality.

I thought a lot about what to write for this. In the end it comes down to one word. Sublime.
The service, the location and the food were all perfect.

AMAZING! The service was 5* and food was incredible!!! A little on the expensive side but well worth it!!! We did the 6 course tasting menu, it was so tasty, such smooth service and quick service although not rushed. If it’s a special occasion this place is a must.

Fantastic experience here for a birthday meal. The tasting menu was delicious. The service was great, staff were polite, friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to accommodate my partner's food allergies. The location is beautiful and somehow they create a holiday atmosphere and vibe In a city I've lived in for years . I recommend!

Was a very lovely experience and we will definitely visit again.

I have been wanting to go to the Jetty since it opened and finally went for my 30th, I must say they did not disappoint! We had a nice table on the deck in the sun, the service staff took excellent care of us, friendly and made good recommendations on the food and wine. The food was fantastic, I tried oysters for the first time and (although oysters themselves are a challenging eat!) they were lovely, beautifully garnished, I also had a scallops starter which was particularly tasty. Main was veal which was the best I’ve ever had and the truffle Mac & Cheese was also very enjoyable. Wine & port, mushroom aperitif, birthday sweets, cheese and my parter’s fish main were all excellent too! Perfect and highly recommended.

Amazing food. Great relaxing atmosphere. Excellent service. View is not bad either..really worth a visit.

Very posh and clean place with lots of customers yet very good safety measures. The good is mostly sea based as its near the Southampton port, giving it a nice relatable food choice. The view outside tbeought the windows is also amazing as you can see the yacht docks with the fabulous yachts. This place is great with company and would definetly recommend to go!😀🙂👌

Fabulous lunch today at this wonderful restaurant. Fine dining at the top of it's game. Hannah looked after us so well and marvellous view of the marina. Fabulous!

Ok experience. Whent there for my daughters birthday there were a lot of staff working (including 4 manager/supervisors) it still felt very erratic with no personal service to our table. 3 different people took our orders throughout the dinner. Major downfall was when they brought out the cake...not sure why it was not ovvious we wanted the cake cut and portioned on plates for our guests. We were then given a kitchen knife for my daughter to cut her own cake.. We were then asked if we wanted plates and forks to eat the cake (?!?!?). Some dishes are very expensive, poussin very small portion for what you pay. Overall ok, but will not rush to come back sadly.

Fantastic evening celebrating our anniversary. The tasting menu with paired wines is the perfect way to celebrate. Everything was perfection, the food wines and service made our evening so special.

We've visited The Jetty for my husband birthday and it was the best experience possible. Restaurant is elegant but with such amazing waiters you immediately feel good and relaxed. Food is amazing - fresh and prepared with love to products. Absolutely awesome seabass and desserts really make you dance!

Lovely place to eat. So much seafood, all beautifully prepared. From the starters to the desserts it is a great experience. Staff are friendly and helpful, definitely a place to try.

Delisious! Very nice seafood and dessert!

Service was great but not impressed by the food. What we had was good and fresh, but missing the wow factor we were expecting as the place is stunning. I got the fresh catch of the day which was delicious. Simple and light. We recommend the soufflé. The croquettes were dry and not that nice. Solid wine selection with beautiful views!

Nice ambience, great starters, but very average mains.
No complaints on service, but in terms of food you can get better mains for a lot lesser in many other restaurants.
K. S.
Top quality food and top quality service. Definitely worth having as a lunch or as dinner, delicious.

The staff here are fantastic (this is something the hotel excels at). They seemed to know a lot of customers personally. I was very well looked after. The fresh bread was nice and I was offered some more and even more after that, I had to decline the third offer as I was full but it was so much appreciated. I had an amuse-bouchée followed by Sri-Lankan Style Curried Seafood and Prawns - Aromatic, coconut based curried seafood and prawns. Served with egg fried rice. I found the curry a little salty but I never add salt to my food except fish and chips so my palate probably over detects salt. The sauce was flavoursome, a nice amount of prawn and fish included. The egg fried rice was nice, I’m not sure how it was made so moist and cooked just right. All food was hot. I followed with ‘Oops I dropped my ice cream’ - Think cornetto, dropped in sand, thankfully it’s edible sand. This is the restaurants signature dessert. Having had the dessert it’s something you order for the experience of seeing what the idea is, experience how it’s been put together and to take a photo, rather than something truly scrumptious. I ended up picking out the seaweed from the dessert (that’s not something you hear everyday!) as that was too salty/seaweedy for me too. I found the restaurant a little noisy but that was due to the customers enjoying themselves and no fault of the restaurant. I’d suggest booking if you’d like to dine here as no tables stayed empty for long. Nice marina views out of the window.

We came here to celebrate our anniversary. We were very happy with food and service. Nice location with amazing view outside.

Fine dining, great atmosphere tasty food that is well presented and a good wine list.

The restuarant is located in the stunning Southampton Harbour & Spa Hotel. Although we were aware that this is a fine dining restuarant, it was still a little pricey and most of the food reflected this very well - especially the desserts! However, we weren't best pleased with the mains and lack of service although we appreciate that short staffing is common during the pandemic. I would still visit again and would suggest this as a place to visit for all those in the area.

We had lunch here during our holiday in england. Unfortunately we discovered that they are not serving the full menu on sunday, expecially the seafood platters that we were looking for. We opted for the menu of the day that consists in a selection between 8 starters, 8 mains and 6 desserts. The food was good but unfortunately it came with the usual mistakes of the english cousine (e.g the cream on the mussels ...) but we enjoyed it. Service was outstanding even if the waiting between the dishes was a bit too long.

Absolutely loved our dinner here, the best food we had in Southampton and the service was impeccable. We had beautiful views of the harbour as well. Would highly recommend.

Had the mini-gastro menu and it was tasty and worth the price. Seafood is fresh and sweet.

We came in a bit later after lunch, and were told that they had closed till evening. When asked one of their managers kindly agreed to serve us as an exception for which we were really grateful to him. The place is really nice, and you have this amazing view of the seaside. Food was extremely delicious and fresh. We loved it. I will try to come here again, on my next visit to Southampton. Highly recommend this restaraunt

Attended a "Dine with Alex" lunch. What a great experience! Alex was a master at mixing, humour, stories and showing and teaching cooking skills. His front of house team were attentive and friendly and looked after all your needs without interrupting the session. Restaurant is in a perfect location and all in all great value for money, great food, great atmosphere and great experience.
