The best kebab we have ever eaten! So fresh and delicious. Very well presented, even the takeaway was presented perfectly! We saw the new restaurant that has recently opened and that looks so good, well done Uni Kebab! Cannot wait to visit! If you order takeaway the address on the website is the correct one, it looks a little different to the images in Google street view due to being recently updated, the takeaway part of this business is called uni kebab express, and then the new fabulous restaurant is located a little further down the road. I highly recommend this to anyone!!! We can see why they have won SO many awards! The portion sizes are huge. I had a mixed kebab wrap meal which was under £10, it had a mix of chicken and doner meat, your choice of salad, chips and a drink, great value! The collection process was very smooth and easy, we even met the owner who was very welcoming and friendly. They also have a great Instagram and tiktok page so you can really see what the food and atmosphere is like. Thank you so much for choosing Southampton to open your restaurant and takeaway :) **update, went to restaurant last night, AMAZING! We had their mixed plate for 2, absolutely delicious! Their sticky rice is also a must try!**

Absolutely delicious food and you will not be disappointed with their portion sizes. The meat was cooked to perfection and the calzone was stuffed with so much filling that when i cut into it the meat and veg poured out. Staff are very polite, respectful and friendly. They have outdoor seating at the front, inside and outdoor seating at the back. I definitely recommend this place and if I am in the area again i will make sure to stop by again.

Mate of mine told me this was the best kebab that could be found in Southampton, and he was not wrong!!! Super size portions.. salad was as fresh as you could as ask for and the bread was superb. Fabulous food, hugely extensive and well-priced menu - options to suit all tastes from spicy kebabs, to Turkish traditional dishes to pizza. Staff are absolutely lovely and can’t do enough for you. The long-awaited new restaurant is really lovely, (we were really excited to visit!) and the atmosphere is great. Definitely go and pay them a visit!

Best kebab in Southampton. Expect a warm welcome with a complementary drink. The place is so popular that they have even installed a large tent on the back garden of their venue for more costumers. The service of this place is amazing, which makes you want to come here again. The home made pitta is amazingly soft in the middle, perfect for kebabs. Pro tip: Get the Sharing platter, worth so much for so little.

An awesome place for some Turkish food...absolutely loved it. I am not local to the area and was a bit concerned about where it is located and thought I had chosen a regular 'Kebab place'. But this place is nothing but 'regular'. Comfortable indoor seating with an outdoor garden to have your meals. Excellent portion sizes, great quality food and friendly staff. And they strictly follow the government's COVID advice. Would definitely visit again!!

Uni kebab restaurant is the best Turkish restaurant in town. Great food, big portions and very tasty. It is a pleasure to eat there. Aziz the owner of the place si a very nice person very friendly. Another update back to 4 star! - April 2021: The manager/owner reached out to me, which was very much appreciated as it demonstrates customer care and service :) Hopefully going forward there won't be any more issues with incorrect/missing items being delivered! FURTHER UPDATE DOWN TO 1 STAR :( - March 2021: Really disappointed with Uni Kebab recently =/ Their food is great *if* they get the order right, but their customer service regarding their delivered food remains dreadful. Have had ongoing issues with incorrect orders or orders with missing items since my last update in November, and tonight has been particularly bad with both the pitta bread and chicken doner missing from the Mixed Kebab that was ordered (online via their own site), despite the following description on the menu: "Combination of a skewer of chef kebab ( cubes of lamb & chicken shish), a skewer of kofte. Slices of lamb & chicken doner. Served in handmade Pitta bread with salad & a choice of sauces. Choose chips or rice & a soft drink." I called five times over the course of an hour just in case they weren't picking up due to being very busy, but each time it rang for a few minutes before being cancelled or timing out. This is absolutely dreadful service, which is really disappointing to say the least as, as I've said before, I've known them for over a decade and really wish I could confidently support them. -- UPDATE from 5 to 4 stars - Nov 2020: I still love the food here, but sadly several times this year I've had parts of my order missing or incorrect, be it via Deliveroo or even directly =/ I understand this is a very popular place (because the food and service generally are so great!) which probably and sadly leads to a decline in the quality of delivered orders, but given how this has happened practically every time I've ordered from them in the last year - which has been quite a lot :') - I can no longer give the benefit of the doubt or attribute it to the trying times of the current pandemic =/ The most recent incident this Saturday 28th November, where my friend (/bubble) and I ordered large doner kebab meal with the Turkish rice option and a mixed doner with chips and salad. My friend had no pitta in theirs (which is something we were really looking forward to in particular given Uni-Kebab makes them fresh on-site!) and when I called Uni-Kebab, they told me that if you go for the Turkish rice option then it's no pitta, but that they'll give me extra pitta next time if I remind them. However, when I checked after calling them, both versions of the menus on their website (as in the interactive ordering menu as well as the image menu) both clearly state kebab with a pitta *and* an option of either chips or rice, not *instead* of. Furthermore my salad was also missing. All in all, given the string of incorrect/missing orders I've had from Uni-Kebab, I am a little disappointed and quite wary of ordering deliver from them again, but really hope they can stop this from happening as we really do love their food and I've known them, particularly the owner, for over a decade, and want to support them both as a local business and a great kebab place. -- Photo isn't great, sorry, but the food was! Soft and fresh dough especially :) I don't get to visit Southampton often these days, but whenever I do I make sure to come here at least once!

Came over yesterday for lunch with family, really good experience. Was greeted by a cheerful young lad who gave us a pager and told us we can order online and choose to pay by card online or cash at checkout. While we were still deciding, we were served with delicious tea (some of the best I have had since my time in Morocco). We ordered a grilled platter and calzone (as suggested by the young lad). Both were splendid: meat was fresh and calzone was well-filled. Read some comments about meat being soggy and stale but that was definitely not the case here. The platter also came with rice, bread, chips and a bottle of pepsi. Overall great portion sizes and good value for money. Total was approximately 40 pounds which is great for 6 people. 100% recommended to anyone visiting or living in the area. Looking forward to coming again soon.

I love the food here and to be honest I love the hospitality even more.The owner and the staff is friendly, kind and the food is generous and delicious. We recently had a meal there and ordered 1/4 burger but forgot to specify to make it vegetarian. When the order arrived, we realised that the patty was beef. However, when we asked the team to take it as we don't eat beef, the team was accommodating and without any fuss, replaced our order with a fresh veggie burger. I am immensely touched by their gesture. This place has always been close to our hearts as the food is delicious and soul filling with that warm cup of tea and delicious Baklava! I felt every minute waited here is worth when I had my meal here, a couple of months back. I don't even compare them with any other kebab shops in town as they are unique. While reading the reviews, happy to see they addressed every query from customers. It's a wonderful gesture. These guys really care about their reputation. And hence no compromise on quality. We rang several times with no answer and the app said closed. When arrived the doors were wide open and the meat was being carved. When we went inside the man carving the meat said "closed" and told us to get out out? Lush food for lunch today! Chicken - yummy, salad - fresh and tasty, Turkish rice - O M G (probably would have eaten just a plate of that alone!), fresh baked pitta - so so good. Welcomed with a cup of tea. Baklava for after - had to bring that home though as we were stuffed! We were made welcome even though they were cleaning up a flood. Will definitely be back.

I have found this place many years ago when a friend of mine suggested to go after a wine tasting session. I know Aziz as a friendly Chef who always has a good word to say to everyone who is stepping in. It is definitely one of the best fast food I have had ever. The service is lovely and lively. Great kebabs but customer service wasn't the best tonight. Incorrect order turned up the first time so the delivery driver went back and exchanged the order (fully understandable as these things happen) brought the order a second time. Both kebabs weren't as ordered but eat them as was majorly hungry by the time they arrived. Phoned to let them know there was an issue with the order and all I was told was that I should have let them know as soon as we recieved them so they could resend for a third time. No offer of discount on a next order and didn't sound bothered on the phone. Was told to phone before next order to 'see what they could do'. Sorry but repeat custom and word of mouth go a long way in this day and age. Bit of a disappointing experience really.

Great food and the owners a great chap, consistent good service. But today the food arrived with no cutlery, waited a few minutes and had to find it myself. Ordered a few sauces but only one came with the order. People around who came after us got tea and baklava but we didn't get either. Owners great but the other members of staff could be much friendlier.

Me and the Mrs enjoyed the food, however a few things we would like to say about it, please take it as constructive. Firstly when I got there the food was already bagged up, and thats great however you made a big no no and had 2 cold cans of drink sitting in the same bag on top of the hot food, thats a big mistake as it heats up the drinks and lowers the temperature of the food, its common sense guys. The donner meat was very salty, I know thats my opinion but I have a reasonable tollerance to salt and it was a bit much, the Mrs agreed too. In her donner wrap there was a chunk of lettuce core (the stem inedible part), that should not have been in there. Aside from that we give 7/10, nice but room for improvement hope this helps guys. Edit for reply to response: I'm sorry I wasn't going to reply but your comment was ridiculous and has annoyed me. Saying that a bag with food in a polystyrene container with some foil on it with 2 cold cans of drink sat in the bag on top of the container touching it wont effect the food or drinks temperature is nonsense, the food was luke warm, and so were the drinks and I collected the food 20 mins after ordering and was home within 10 min, so that means the food was eaten within 20 mins of it being made according to what you said, I ate it, you didn't it wasn't hot it was luke warm and the drinks were not fridge cold. There is no expense needed to fix the issue, just put drinks in a separate bag, problem solved like every other takeaway does... and I disagree that the lettuce core is edible, its the raw hard part that normal people throw away, this is not how they do it in Turkey so please dont say that Ive been there twice and never had a lettuce core in my salad. As I said I'm being honest, take it constructively and not make excuses that make no sense when they can be fixed easily.

I always enjoy eating at Uni kebab. It always end up as my first choice given the really tasty food with a good variety of plates you can choose from. The customer service is undoubtedly outstanding , indeed friendly staff who do their best to please their customers. Prices are really good and convenient for students.

Had a sharing platter for 2 with "Turkish" rice n chips. Lovely, perfectly cooked food. Kofte: much hotter with spice than standard UK takeaway kofte , very nice spicing. "Turkish" rice: oily, but now my second favourite type of rice (after 'Persian' - oily & partially crispy & not found in any Southampton takeaway - yet! 😁). Doner meat: thin & real - not the preformed stuff some places serve in recent years. Chips: can't comment, so much food that at end of second day we haven't got to them. Bread: Not standard pita. This is the best place for chilling. Best food on Burgess Rd! Been coming here for years and it’s only been getting better. Nice touch that the manager still remembers me from back then, even if it does seem like he makes me wait a little longer because he knows I’ll still come back haha! The Turkish tea on arrival is a great touch, especially over winter. Love watching the guys cooking as they’re amazing at what the do. The Pitta bread is also the best I’ve ever tasted, albeit smaller than you’ll be used too- only a small charge for an extra one though! The magical spice/salt the put on the chips is divine!

Best kebab place I've found in Southampton. The chicken doner which I'd not normally go for is great. Well seasoned, cooked well, tasty. The lamb shish and chicken shish too are great. Do bear in mind they only take cash this would normally take it down a star or two for me but its so good here I can't take a star away. There's seating outside and inside. Always a busy place. Friendly too. Sometimes give you a Turkish Tea whilst your waiting that too is a nice touch. Been here three or four times and always great. Not just some dodgy local kebab shop this place is actually decent.

Thank you for your quick response to my previous review. It is an edited review. It was the first time for me and my wife ate in uni kebab.to avoid cofusion, we ordered meal deals because it is not only a complete package but also the figure/picture looking good, turkish pide meal and cheesy parmo burger (I told him(cashier), turkish pide meal no 11 and cheesy parmo burger). There was nothing wrong with the cheesy parmo burger, but different appearance for another one. it just only bread look like ( now, I know it is a Pide) without chips, can of drink and the appearance from the display board. We were new, so we just figured out what happened at the time. After finish eating, I went to the cashier and told him that I want to pay with card, However there was not card payment. So I just simply gave him 20 pounds and waiting a change money . he gave me coins (around 2 or 3 pounds) and he smiled, said thank you and stared at me without doing anything further. then I walked away while our mind tried to remember the each price of the food. after 50 meters walking then we remembered, it should be around 13 pounds. He didn't gave my 5 pounds while he was holding that 5 pound. I assume couldn't prove it because I didn't get a receipt. It might be my bad luck I still eat in uni kebab because not only friendly waiter/people around but also variety of turkish dishes however I always prepare a payment with a less change. Would you mind providing a receipt and card payment?
