This is our favourite local restaurant and we’re never disappointed. We visited Saturday night for my belated birthday meal and had a wonderful evening. The food is always 10/10 and the service is always very good, even on a busy Saturday night. We were looked after by Kyle on this visit and he’s one of our favourites as he’s so friendly and helpful. We’re already booked in for the festive menu so we’ll be back very soon!

Went on the birthday offer on a Thursday which h is hanging kebab night. The chicken one was fab but the steak a bit tough so wouldn't recommend that. The frangipan tart was amazing though! With the offer it was reasonable.

This was from a while ago but i found a picture... It was ok, not the best. I had seafood paella but the muscles were fowl and really knocked me off the food. It would have been better if they had been seasoned and the paella wasn't as sloppy. My friends enjoyed their meals but for the money they weren't 100% impressed. I would go again but maybe in the day opposed to night.

Recently visited Ego for Sunday lunch with family while stopping in the area. Venue and location was promising. Generally a good atmosphere and layout inside the building. Regarding the food, looked promising from the menu but the execution of the food was a let down. Starters were good and well presented. Unfortunately, one of the six main meals was served cold. This was sent back and a fresh roast dinner was arranged. Three other meals were also disappointing as the meat on the hanging chicken kebabs were quite dry. Also the meat on the pork roast was also dry. Unfortunately due to this experience would not wish to return anytime soon. This is why we have only rated it at 3 stars. Would suggest that the kitchen review how they prepare the meat to avoid it drying out before serving tables.

Interesting outing to 'Ego at the Hollybush, Stockton Brook ' on the last day of November. The venue has been well organised and decorated although where we sat for a pre dinner drink there was a nasty draught! An excellent range of food available of which I had the lemon Chicken Milanese. My group of 4 had different meals and each enjoyed what they had. Service was good and attentive, with both food and drink. A small point- I'm always disappointed when there is little choice of cask ale and having Doombar and titanic although tasty were a little boring, however only my tastes. Otherwise the venue can deal with most requirements and tastes, very well worth a visit.

A really good place to go for food and drinks. I went for Sunday lunch and chose off the set menu which had a lot of choice on. The calamari to start with was really tasty and very well cooked and the beer dinner was cracking. Had sticky toffee pudding for desert and that again was really good. The service was spot on and the waitress was very polite and attentive. The cocktails were fab to. The only thing for me was they need to expand their drinks to include some craft beers.

This is lovely place for a luncheon with friends. It's one of those places where you can spend a little or a lot! We weren't drinking cocktails (or any alcohol actually) and managed to have a stunning 2 course meal with tea/coffee and a soft drink for less then £16 each. The staff were lovely and very attentive. We did book, however there was plenty of room. I would recommend it to friends and would definitely go back for lunch. They offer a happy hour 2 for 1 cocktails and take group/party bookings so ideal for a girly night. The surroundings are quite refined yet relaxed, and there are several levels/area's to choose from. The menu is good and I saw several dishes I would love to try. I am mainly vegetarian on the whole but occasionally eat fish (hence the fact I had the Prawn Linguini and chilli) but the fish and chips looked AMAZING - believe me that's an achievement for fish and chips ! I will return - possibly with the husband if hes good - to review more dishes.

Very busy restaurant but after an initial wait of 10/15 minutes we were served drinks and our order was taken. Then the service was prompt and effective. The food was excellent and drinks were good. One or two items on the menu were a little expensive but there is something for everyone on the extensive menu's and we really enjoyed our meal.

This would be my first going to Ego and because of this I would not know what to expect. There only small amount of room at the bar, so trying to get through can abit tricky but there is a large area to sit n enjoy your drink. The price of drinks can be pricey but there was a offer of 2 4 1 on cocktails. We booked a table for 10 of us n we had more than enough room without worrying of knocking into someone. For starters I had the grilled goats cheese which was excellent, very nice to eat. For the main I choose the peri peri chicken kebab. This was tastie but not much kick in the spice. Along side this I had the sweet potato fries which where that nice, everyone around me kept pinching them. I really enjoyed this place, the only drawback from this place is the nice of drinks & the space at the bar.

I have heard alot about this place from a few people and finally got my chance to go. And how it did not disappoint. The food was so tasty, the setting was warm and very comfortable with plenty of space around you and the team were so welcoming and friendly. I was expecting it to cost more than it did. Yes we are not talking hungry horse prices here but you can not compare the food to these big chain places. Its completely different experience and one I am looking forward on revisiting. Our experience was not good. The food was fantastic but the service was not something to be desired. After a mess up over drinks our bottle of prosecco did not arrive and then we had to remind about puddings. The waitress was not helpful and did not appreciate us taking up the issues with her,although she was the person serving us.Five minutes after reminding about the pudding we were asked by said waitress to vacate the table. However, the manager was fantastic and understood our queries regarding the lack of service we had received during the time we were there. We really did appreciate this and thank him for his compassion towards his customers.

Ate here on Bank Holiday Monday for the first time we had a nice meal and experience. I had the fillet steak and peppercorn sauce it came with a very small pot of chips and half a tomato it would be nice if it came with mushrooms or onion rings as the plate looked rather bare but the steak was excellent and cooked perfect. Yesterday afternoon, 5pm was our first family meal since Covid and lockdown. We were a large party of 13 this included 4 children. Upon booking we were advised that we could only have the table for two hours which we accepted however it was clear that two hours for such a large group really isn’t long enough. I could accept that sort of time limit for smaller group or just a bite to eat for lunch but definitely not for an evening meal with everyone wanting three courses. We all felt quite rushed and were asked to vacate the table after the two hours were up, nobody was able to order coffee or desserts. I feel that as a company it would be helpful to revisit your policy and maybe ask large parties to preorder or extend the amount of time allowed to at least three hours.

Quite a large and comfy restaurant with outdoor seating as well. We booked as we were a larger group. I really enjoyed the food. A good, extensive menu. I had the hanging mixed kebab and would definitely have it again. The cocktails were also really nice. We were there in the evening but earlier on there were 2 for 1 cocktails. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the service. Seemed to be plenty of staff but had to ask whenever we wanted to order food/drinks. A couple of times we had to ask more than once for drinks as they never materialised.

I always enjoy going to The Hollybush. It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. There are two different areas, one more traditional and one more contemporary to suit different people. It's a lovely country located pub with a contemporary vibe & the menu is great as well as the food.

Seems to half locals bar, half fine dining....Food was really good, I had the pork belly which was superb, others had cod & steak and all pleased. The prix fixe menu (2 courses + nibbles) was inexpensive and the restaurant was not crowded. A small bottle of coke cost £3.15. This is the same price that you can pay for a pint in other pubs. This is the most I have ever had to pay for a coke even when I have spent time in London a coke has not cost this much. The music was loud. We asked them to turn it down. They explained they couldn't as there was something wrong with it. Then they should turned it off.

A very busy lunch period didn't seem to slow down the service. This was our first visit to Ego's and we were more than impressed by this Mediterranean style restaurant. We had calamari and a goats cheese starters with spaghetti carbonara and King prawn linguine followed by mini desserts. It was all first rate and the carbonara was the best I have had in a restaurant! We must mention our server Sophie. She quite delightful, attentive and knowledgeable. A credit to the restaurant. Lost a star because we got there at 2.50 for our 3 o'clock booking, was asked to sit in the bar for a bit while our table is being setup, 30mins later we went and asked if it was ready yet only to be told we have been put down as no shows. The lady we first spoke to was a bit stuck up but after the lad sorted us a table apologising for the delay, we had a great meal. Not many ales on but they do loads of cocktails. Before l start with this review Ego resturants are one of our favourite places to eat and we were expecting a really robust Covid-19 secure dining experience, sadly this wasn't the case. This is only the second time we've eaten out since lockdown. The staff were lovely and friendly food really good as usual, however really disappointed with yhe lack of Covid-19 procedures which appeared virtually non existent. This is a management problem which l believe needs addressing as soon as possible. Tables way too close together where we were seated both less than a metre away from us (no screens), staff not wearing visors or face masks chefs preparing food without protection, l have seen an excuse that visor wearing is down to personal preference, not such a convincing argument. Too many common use items salt, peper and vinegar if these are santised between use the it needs to be visibly demonstrated; indeed the only thing that appeared to be different to our last visit before lockdown was the hand santiser station at the entrance. We didn't feel safe and that will keep us away from this lovely place which is a real pity because safety is now a huge part of the experience when visiting any establishment. Management please take note.

This is one of the best local restaurants in the Stoke area. I have made repeated visits and it never disappoints. The specials menu on a Sunday is not expensive. A la carte offers see good range. Menus change about twice a year to keep the whole thing fresh. Portions can look small but don't be deceived - after three courses, even with a big appetite I always leave feeling pleasantly full!

The place itself is OK, the food is nothing special, I had the soup of the day but it has been over seasoned and just tasted of pepper, I sent it back and it was taken off the menu, obviously not tasted by whoever had made it

Went for the first time seen as it is right on my doorstep and i couldn't believe how nice the place was and busy which shows how popular the place is we were seated very quickly and greeted very nicely as soon as we walked though the door we sat down and then our server Hannah come and took our drink and food order We had the Tomato & Garlic Pizza Bread for a starter which was plenty for both of us and we then once we had finished it we were asked did we want our main right away or give a few minutes we said we will have it straight away we only had to wait 5 minutes and our food was brought to us we had Mixed Piri-Piri Chicken, Chorizo, Moroccan Lamb & Chipotle Steak and the 8oz Sirloin which both were very lovely and very hot we didn't go for any desserts as the mains were very filling The service was Amazing and i couldn't thank Hannah enough the only issue i had i didn't have any change to give as a tip which i felt bad for not leaving one due to the amazing Service By Hannah
