Delicious food with a wide menu. 6 of us booked for a meal on a Friday night. Staff were warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Really fantastic selection which suited across a variety of preferences- from spicy to mild, meat to vegetarian. Staff were attentive but not overbearing. We did not feel rushed at all and had a lovely meal. Absolute must for a curry in Burton. There is parking just behind the restaurant so it's very convenient.

Went for a meal on Friday evening, group of 11 people. The building is first class, modern, stylish and spotless. The lady who waited on us (we were seated upstairs) was first class. She couldn't have provided a better service if she had tried! Food was excellent and served in just the right time so everyone's food came together. Nice choice of dishes on the menu and good selection of drinks. On this basis I will be returning again and recommending it to other A++++

Visited on our way from Alton Tower to London, with friends and family. Food and service were good. We only ordered Veg dishes and they were good (incl compliment salad), additional star was for the service and making table arrangement for all of us. Was staying nearby and popped in for dinner based on google reviews. Decor was ok, staff nice although the bossman was a little stern. Wife enjoyed her dish,mine was average. But i blame my choice of dish rather than the quality if it. Would go back, just to try sonething else from the very decent menu. Catered for allergies very well.

First time visit for my Birthday. Had a great evening with my family and friends. The staff are so friendly, helpful and informative. The food was excellent and piping hot on arrival. Prices are very reasonable. We recommend that you book a table to avoid disappointment as it can get very busy. We will definitely go back again and would highly recommend to all. Well worth a visit.

Oct 2017 - I have never rated a restaurant before but I felt compelled to do so after staying an evening in Burton Upon Trent on a business trip, hopefully one of many as I intend to re-visit this fabulous restaurant. The service was impeccable, the staff were polite from start to finish, and the food was incredible. I have eaten in many good quality Indian restaurants and this one is up there with the best. Try the Everest Beer if you're a lager drinker, not my usual preference, it has a slight sweetness that complemented the food. 5+ ☺ Update.. Dec 2017 - Visited again, like I said I would when staying in Burton again. Food and service just as good as my last visit. Still 5+ for me.. ☺ However I must try something different on the menu next time I visit, difficult when you really enjoy particular dishes eaten before though..

My first visit in July 2021and our first family gathering meal together since lockdown. The food is fabulous, the staff are wonderful and the value for money is exceptional. I don’t live anywhere near Burton on Trent but I sing the praises of this restaurant everywhere I go. If you do decide to try it, you won’t be disappointed. Trip to Burton on Trent booked for 21 May so looked up for somewhere to eat for 7 people, the reviews on the Gurkha restaurant all looked very good so booked a table, when we booked into our hotel we mentioned the Gurkha to staff there and they all said it was very good. Well they wasn't wrong the food was excellent and staff very helpful and friendly, All 7 of us would highly recommend this restaurant.

A typical Indian/Nepalese Restaurant of a high street. Not so expensive and of within range type. Food, once again tasty, and portions are sufficient. So, if hungry and and looking for a change this Restaurant is as good as any. So enjoy a curry for the night. Coopers square shopping centre Car parking is behind and ample spaces are available.

Visited 18/9/21 Fitted us in without reservation Lovely table didn't feel crammed in like some restaurants.. was nice to see white table cloths and real napkins was offered a warm cleansing cloth for our hands. AMAZING! we came to the area on holiday and stumbled across the place. the staff are really helpful and know each of the dishes and what goes with each and how each could be adjusted. we took our 2 kids, aged 3 and 5 for their first curry and they were great with them and helped make their first experience very pleasant. 100%% reccomend this place :)

This review is based on customer service alone- I haven’t actually eaten here, I ordered by accident because I thought it was my local Gurkha. When I called to apologize the guy was so lovely about it I felt even worse about being such a wally. Please give them some business if you actually live in the area, I definitely would if I didn’t live 236 miles away and had a better grasp on directions.

We went in as a last minute decision for my nans birthday, to make a change from a takeaway. We were made to feel very welcome and the food was delicious. They even put a candle in my nans pudding and sang Happy Birthday :) and were dancing with her, such a fun night. It was midweek and was quite quiet (before we got there), but don't let that put you off it's great!

Exceptional food and service. This was our second visit and we were even more impressed than the first time. The staff really make you feel welcome and special and the food is just amazing. The Manchurian starter is delicious and so different to anything I've had elsewhere. They are also very accomodating on dietary needs and will make any dish vegan if asked. I have never actually used the restaurant however I do have food delivered. I have a chicken korma with mushroom rice and it is beautiful. I don't like coriander which they garnish the rice with so they don't put it in when I ask them. The garlic cheese naan bread is amazing. Delivery staff are very polite and always smartly dressed in suits.

The restaurant is very clean, the only thing to let it down in my personal opinion was the food, IT WAS OVER SALTED AND OVER PRICED. Mediocre. The poppadoms were not freshly cooked, the "marinated fish cooked with crusted mustard" seemed to be some sort of minced fish product, rather than real fish, and was soggy, and the place was full of raucous women getting drunk and having to go outside, possibly to be sick. Mother of God, this is the best curry I've had for a long time. Considering my favourite Indian restaurant is in Glasgow. This place has just equalled it. The chicken lason khursani is amazing and Mrs P has the lamb jalfrezi was equally superb. As jalfrezi goes, it wasn't full of onions that hadn't been cooked. Cobra for me and Mrs P had a glass of merlot. Great service friendly welcome and just the right side of attentive. Now a keen contender for the best Indian (Nepalese) restaurant in Burton.

A Balti comes in a balti dish not a plate but then i come from the balti capital of Birmingham!! The food was bland but this is probably due to it being Nepalese and not a traditional balti curry house. Staff were friendly enough but was slow to take our order. I wont be going back.

This is my second visit to this superb restaurant. Very spacious seating arrangements with fresh linen tablecloth and napkins. There is a wide variety of food options available. All wonderfully prepared and presented. We tried a Gurka special, truly delicious. Reasonable priced drinks are available with a wide choice. The staff were friendly and attentive. We lingered a while finishing our drinks. Not rushed in any way. A visit to the toilet always an important area proved very positive. In a word immaculate warm and with every facility. Visit with a good appetite you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
