Visited for colleague meal on a Friday night. Table booked for 7pm. Meal was absolutely lovely - I had beef brisket- see photo. Only complaint is that they started hinting heavily that we should leave at 9.30 by bringing out the cleaner! Eventually they asked us to leave at 10pm. No problem with that but it would have been nice to have been told when booking or even on arrival. Be warned if you book here. Apart from that, a great night👍

The location is good, the venue itself is nice enough. The staff are friendly and helpful, patient despite being busy! The food is perfectly pleasant but for the price of our dish I would have expected something higher quality. We did, however wait far too long to be served.

Well actually I was pleasantly surprised. There were 4 people in our party and we went to poachers cottage as a spur of the moment decision. And we all really enjoyed it. The food was good and not overly expensive £90 for 4 mains, desert's and 2 rounds of drinks. The service was great, all in very pleasant surroundings. So all in all a great night out.

First time in a long time I’ve ate out in a pub and thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere! Family of four, all had different dishes, all came out at the same same time, hot, fresh and very tasty. Salad bar was good, bread rolls nice and fresh, CANT fault this place at all, will definitely be back! Oh, and I had the kickin garlic sauce and spiked maple syrup as an accompaniment and loved it so much I bought a bottle of each to take home 😍

My partner and one of my daughters decided to eat here after walking out of another eateries. The food was great really nice and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal served by the most friendly staff. We didn't have to wait long and the portions were good so unfortunately after starter and mains,,, no dessert. 😪 Next time though . Thankyou for an enjoyable evening. We'll see you soon.

We arrived at the Poachers Cottage and were slightly disappointed that it took about 8 minutes to be shown to our table as the manageress was busy serving customers behind the bar. Once shown to our seat the waitress was very polite, helpful and efficient. We went to the salad bar and were still shocked that you have to have the salad bar served to you funnily enough by the manageress who was too busy earlier. Why are you persisting with this method. Does it save you money as people don't get quite as big a salad and as they have to be served don't go back for seconds? Or is is still a left over Covid19 protocol? If its to do with people touching the serving spoon, why don't you provide each customer there own plastic serving spoon and when they have finished they drop it in a "basket" at the end of the salad bar. These spoons can either be cleaned in the kitchen or disposed of by recycling in a box near the salad bar? Food, once ordered, arrived quickly and was to the normal Harvester quality. Would award only 4* as 1* deducted due to the displeasure over the salad bar.

Fantastic place to go to, the staff were so helpful and always got a smile for you even with my 2 yr old grandson running round getting in their way and made a mess. The food was top notch, it was all very hot and so tasty. Well worth a visit.

Pretty average visit. Service was quick and efficient and the Gammon was good but the belly pork wasnt great as the mac n cheese wasnt that warm (over priced dish at nearly £15). The potato skins were not good at all unfortunately, dry and tasteless. The refillable drinks were a good idea but we actually didn't need to refill them making it feel again like they were overpriced at more than £4. Unlimited salad bar sounds great also but the options are pretty basic in their quality so you don't feel like going back for more. Probably wouldn't be going back in a hurry.

I am giving this venue five stars because the vegan festive (December 2021) menu was truly excellent and because all the staff were very attentive. Extra special shout out to our server Martha, who provided exemplary service. She was both professional and friendly, I would give her ten stars if I could.

The food however was somewhat disappointing, my piri chicken looked the part but was dry and a little tasteless, my breaded chicken was over cooked and my 1/4 chicken was ok but again a little dry, the biggest disappointment was the chicken gravy which was more of a broth or soup, The sweetcorn had been sat in water for too long and was mushy, the triple cooked chips were nice but few in number. my cheesecake dessert was far to small of a portion to be of value. The unlimited salad bar was a plus.

I've never had a bad meal at a harvester, and thi some was no different. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is due to items not available on the menu and also a slight misunderstanding on the order of the sides. Large pub restaurant will good food. We had people with mobility issues in our group and were not aware of how big the restaurant was. In future we would request to be seated near the toilets. There was a smaller area there which was on the same level and not being used when we were there. We requested to have the free salad that comes with the main meals. The salad bar had broken and we were told to ask the waitress to collect our bowls of salad. This was a shame as we could not select what we wanted. There was no way of specifying what we wanted as we didn't know what was available. By the time our mixed salad bowls were brought to the table we had virtually finished eating. The waitress was very helpful and patient and all the staff looked smart and all wore masks. I thought the food was a little pricier than I would normally pay in this type of pub restaurant, but overall we had a pleasant experience.

We visited on Sat 18th... Think the menu had changed since the last time we had been (which had been a while due to lock downs etc) Our food was very well prepared/presented and was really nice. Both mine and my wife's meal was dry and came to us luke warm. Looking around the restaurant I could see a lot of food left on plates. The table next to us had to send both meals back because they were undercooked. We did not really enjoy our meal. We would not recommend the Poachers cottage to anyone else.

Visited tonight and was served by a lovely waitress - the name on the receipt was Emily. She explained that she was new so was still getting used to the system, but she was so polite and was an amazing waitress you couldn’t tell she was new. She brought out all of our drinks in good timing and ensured our table was clean at all times. Felt bad we didn’t have change to give a tip. Food was great too and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back!

We booked during eat out to help out. Service was quick and the staff were lovely however i didn't like the fact I was literally sitting next to someone else's party on our table. I'm sure maybe the distance was 1 meter but there was no screen to separate us so maybe the tables should be separated a bit more, this was a long table near to the back. My food was lovely, however my husband and the girls did not really enjoy theres sadly. For these reasons we didn't stop for pudding 😔 the place itself was tidy and the service at the salad buffet was very organised.

This is mine and my partners regular and can honestly say it's our favourite. We go quite often. It's a lovely atmosphere well maintained and clean. The food is always fresh, well cooked and served in plenty of time. Great menus and wide variety of drinks. It's always a calm relaxed atmosphere and we're never left waiting for a table. Friendly welcoming staff who are very thoughtful and kind. Great prices selection on the menu's and will cater for those with dietary requirements ect. No complaints here.

Delightful Sunday lunch for a family of 7. I booked the table a few days ago. This morning I received a phone call to warn me that they had been very busy on the Saturday and consequently had run out of a couple of items on the menu: neither of which affected us. WeAr had a large round table (seats 8) which was perfect for us. We had a lovely meal. Great selection from the salad cart. The sticky glazed salmon was very yummy. The children all had fish too (fingers for the youngest and battered fillet for the older ones). Plates cleared we moved onto desserts. Ice creams for the children and for the adults a sundae and a chocolate cake. All very yummy and washed down by refillable glasses of carbonated drinks. Lovely service: attentive but not intrusive. Everyone enjoyed a lovely, relaxed Sunday lunch.

We have been to many harvesters but this one has to be the best for service. The waitress who served us on our first evening was very lovely and nothing was too much for her. When we went back for breakfast the next morning we had the same excellent service from a young guy. We would go back if we are in the area again as only visiting for couple days. Excellent value and good quality food. Harvester is a family friendly restaurant that has something to suit all budgets. The quality and size of the portion for the price is excellent. The service was excellent and a special mention to the Manager who I think his name was Dan was very good. If the rest of the team mirrored his service and level off attentiveness they would have a first class team.

Having visited various Harvester restaurants around the country I would class this one as the best. The exterior appearance isn't great, however, the interior is pleasant and kept very clean. The food was excellent. We ordered ribs and steak which were well cooked. Post Covid 19 the salad cart is served for you by a staff member which works well and should be continued for the future in my opinion. There was a good drinks selection to choose from and soft drink refills were plentiful. I will visit again when next at Trentham Gardens.

Lovely rump steak and choice of sauces, upgrade to the sweet potato fries if you can, you wont regret it. Service was attentive and quick, even though it was 7pm on a friday and they were busy. Would recommend. There is disabled access although some of the seating is one step down. Seating outdoors also. Good free parking and a bar if you just want a drink.

Good honest "pub grub". I find if you go before 6pm/6:30pm you can get a seat very easily and not have to wait long for your meal to be served. Also, if you sign up to their emails they usually send you a voucher in the email. Most of the time we normally have 25% discounts on our main courses. Plus, if you've got thirsty kids always choose the refill option on the soft drinks. I deducted one star (quite harshly) due to my seating/table location. It was a tad dark and I had difficulty reading the menu clearly. Apart from that everything was great.

Delay at Meet and greet Only 0% beer was Becks blue but won't be chilled ....limited and poor choice in 2020 So asked for coke with only 1 ice, I got coke with loads of ice...... Despite politely querying this there was no clear explanation given.

Lovely restaurant, met there for a family meal, had a few issues: salad bar very poorly stocked no dishes, no sweetcorn no bread (had to wait 15 minutes for it to be cooked) all other items very low. They told us there was only 2 chefs in so there might be a delay on food, there must have been about 3 tables of people in the entire restaurant, when food did arrive it wasn't that long a delay but we was a meal missing, the waitress apologised and told us it was her fault and said the cost would be removed from the bill, it was delivered to us after about 15 minutes freshly prepared when we had nearly finished our meals also 1 meal had the wrong sauce that had to be changed. We had no cutlery on The table and had to go get our own even though they said they'd bring it over, when they did The bought 3 sets even though there was 6 of us eating. The food in general was nice nothing fantastic. We asked about desserts to be told the ice cream machine was out of service, which apparently is a regular accurance especially on Saturdays, the waiters words! which basically took 75% of the choice away as they are mainly sundaes. We went to pay the bill to find they hadn't removed the cost of the missing meal even though they offered it we didn't ask for it. We ordered 2 coffees which were delivered with very long sundae spoons.

Ok. Sat by loud people who hadnt been taught how to act in public. Food was ok but the waiter reeled off a list of about 15 things he didnt have, then came back and said they had no batter for the hallomi I ordered. Toilets were smeared with...chocolate.. my parents went the following day with a voucher I gave them and they didnt enjoy the food at all. Cold and greasy.

Went to poachers last night for xmas eve meal with family 7pm. We had choice of xmas menu. Out of choice 4 starters only 2 were available. Xmas dinner only roast potatoes available.
