We travelled for 40 minutes to try there Sunday roast carvery today and it was honestly one of the best I have ever had, the staff were really nice and welcoming. The choice on the carvery and the quality of the food definitely outshined to any others. Definitely be going again

The food was perfect and lots of it, the only thing we found the time from ordering was 1 hr before we received our food! bearing in mind this was mid week with not many customers. Would definitely go again but never on a busy weekend as we feel the wait will be longer.

My partner and I went for the carvery on Sunday lunchtime. The meat portion is very generous and served up by the cook. Today the choice was beef, lamb or turkey. I had beef and lamb. Customers help themselves to the veg , the choices and quality of which are excellent. The plate you get is large and holds a lot of food! The meat was soft and tender, the veg, including cauliflower cheese was excellent. Plus there are numerous sauces, eg white onion sauce, horseradish and mint sauce plus thick beef gravy and a vegetarian gravy. My partner is vegetarian and had the veggie nut roast which cost £6.50. She enjoyed her meal. The meat-eaters roast dinner is £8.50. All in all an excellent good value meal which was delicious and knocks spots off Toby Carvery!!!! No wonder the place is so busy!!! Booking is really essential.....however booking can be a bit hit and miss....we've had two issues with bookings in the last 6 weeks....ie they had no idea we'd booked when we arrived.....this is the only downside

Visited recently on an overnight stay at Alton Towers, Monday evening so "pie night" possibly the best Pie I have ever had (steak and ale) , staff were friendly and welcoming, prices were excellent, all the food was exceptional, really glad we walked home as could not bare to leave any food on the plate despite being stuffed. 😁 Would definitely visit again.

We had our Christmas meal here and we were impressed over the quality and quantity of food for a 3 course meal it was 24 quid. Drinks were separate. Wonderful we are recommending to everyone we meet.

First visit to this lovely pub. Met up with some friends for pie night, and wasn't disappointed. Unfortunately I forgot my face mask but the lovely lady from behind the bar came out and gave me a paper mask so that I complied with the covid rules, which was lovely of her. The food was fantastic and all home made even the desserts which Unfortunately I hadn't enough room left to try any. Will definitely be back again. Just to try the desserts.

Covid takeaway review - Food was delicious, can't fault it at all. It was cooked well, still hot when we got home and was very good value for money. This would have been a 5 star review if it hadn't been for the near 45 minute outdoor wait in -4c weather. Staff were working hard to fulfil orders inside but it was obviously a deeply flawed system.

More stars are required! I'm nearly 56 and have just been the best steak and ale pie I have ever tasted. From the homemade pastry top to the chips. Fabulous. Usually I describe pub peas as bullets, not these, along with a selection four freshly cooked vegetables. Oh, and did I mention that the portions are so generous I doubt many have room for afters! Friendly local pub. You just have to go there. No car park as no cars when building built, so find a place along the road. Excellence.

Good food and drink with good service. It can get busy so please book in advance. Awful parking, however. I strongly recommend you park elsewhere away from the front of the pub as its gets very busy here being a frequently used road.
