Visited the Ship Inn on a few occasions now. The food is all home cooked. Good portions. Pricing is on par with other eateries, yet here you get real home cooked food. Service is waited. The atmosphere when full is lovely, homely and warm with a log burning fire. I only took pictures of desert (sorry). Crumble and chocolate orange sponge. Both beautiful and huge portions!

Didn't know what to expect with a £10 two course meal but we were really surprised. The food was really good. We rocked up on a Sat evening with no booking and the kind staff gave us a seat by the bar as they were fully booked. They were very busy but they staff were great, you could see they were under pressure and could probably do with more staff but they were very efficient and the food really was delicious (thanks chef) so much so we went back on Sunday for their roast 👌

PERFECT 2 COURSES FOR £10 . Thought we'd try here as the draycott arms who do a similar deal have got gready since covid and proper raised there prices and after our meal tonight we'll never go back to draycott arms . Lovely food we both really enjoyed both of our courses good drinks really pleased to see kronenburg on draught and real chips at that price to which is always a bonus . Great place! The food is delicious and prices are very good for the quality and amount of food. I had the lamb shank and it was so soft and tasty. The waiters we're also very attentive and kind.

First time here for myself and my wife, we live locally but had never been to the Ship before. On arriving we were greeted cheerfully by a young waitress who asked us to sit at any table we liked and she'd be over to take our orders. The menu was very nice and as a bonus the food including desert's were all homemade even the chips. We had a fish n chips and a hunters chicken for main which was really tasty, then we had a chocolate orange sponge and coffee and walnut cake for desert's, Both were unbelievably amazing so tasty. The overall experience would be 10/10 based on the quality of the food, staff and the reasonable price. Will definitely be back again. Thank you for a fantastic meal 👍

Cosy traditional country pub which far exceeded our expectations. Table service is great. Ambiance is all you would hope for. Staff were friendly and attentive. Bathrooms are clean and pleasant. Now the food: There is a good variety on the menu and specials mean there is something for everyone. The quality and presentation is fab. We all (party of 5) loved the food. Three of us had various steaks and - long time since I've experienced this, they were all cooked as we'd asked for! Particularly gorgeous are the deserts which I learned are all handmade by the owners wife. She clearly loves her work, they are exceptional value too. Try the creme brulee the one in the pic was lemon curd. I'm now nautical convert. ☸️.😁

Warm cosy eating pub. Nice friendly helpful staff. Good food and a decent red wine. The menu had a reasonable choice of different items, but I would have liked the option of a salad main and sweet potato mash or fries, but the meal i had was very nice and they did swap peas for a side salad, which was appreciated. This place is very nice menu 2 for 11.00 for either a starter or pud and main meal or you can have some more expensive option of the menu. The food is all home cooked and delicious, staff very friendly and service is quite responsive I enjoy eating here

Went to the Ship Inn and enjoyed a meal with my wife. They only had one cask ale on but it was in perfect condition. Much better to have one good ale than 2 or 3 not up to scratch. The menu had plenty of choice and good sized portions. Chicken and ham pie was freash and tasty. My wife had scampi of which there was plenty with a good salad.

We visited for the second time on Saturday for a family meal. We booked ahead as knew it would be busy on a Saturday. The service was great and the staff (Amelia) went over and above to accommodate a fussy eater on our table by offering to take certain items off the plate and offered an alternative which made my son feel less conscious about his choices. The service from all of the staff was perfect and the time left between courses was perfect. When it’s only the second time visiting we were hoping it would be as good as the first time when we visited as a couple. Second time was better and will Certainly be returning soon. The final thing is the price of the food, this was great value for money and wide variety. Lovely to visit such a friendly place with excellent service. Thank you.

Had a Christmas meal here. My first time here. Staff very pleasant, tables clean. Food came on time and was hot. The only downside for me was the fact it was not freshly cooked. More like microwave meals. Don't get me wrong the food was ok and my guests left happy. Another thing I noticed was a lack of ladies toilets. I went to use the toilet and found a wheel chair user struggling in the one and only toilet. I felt quiet embarrassed as she had to leave the toilet door wide open while using the toilet. I made a quick exit and waiting a while before returning to use the toilet.

Great food and prices. Was a little worried when we saw 2 courses for £11 thinking the portions would be small and the food substandard, how wrong could we be. We had no booking but the staff found us a table and this was when they opened at 18.00. The food was really tasty, we even tried desserts for an extra £3, yes £3 which was homemade, they were delicious. So 3 courses for £14 and we came out of the restaurant thinking what a fantastic meal we had. Just wished they were closer to home, we would be going at least once a week if it was the case. Only comment I can make which is not necessarily negative just a matter of taste buds, maybe more choice on the starters.

Just had lunch at The Ship for the first time (21 Sept 2021). My partner and I had the 2 courses for £10 deal. I had a prawn cocktail starter and braised steak for main. These were both delicious. Only downside the prawn starter was a bit on the small side but that was okay. My partner had the deep fried brie for starter and vegetable lasagne for main. She enjoyed both.. The main course portion sizes were good , not massive, but good. We will come again in the future Update on 11 May 2022: Vegetarian options need to improve at this venue and be a bit more creative!!!!

Had the takeaway Sunday dinner today its was absolutely lovely. Large enough portion and tasty. My parents had the chicken dinner and said it was nice. I had the vegetarian nut roast in shortcrust pastry it was really tasty definitely recommend it. The cheesecake was great and again the portion sizes are brilliant I had the chocolate orange sponge cake with custard and really enjoyed it. Will definitely be going here again.

Have been here about 5/6 times now and never been disappointed! As a coeliac I can safely say I’ve never had any problems with the food and am always impressed by the wide range off gluten free options! It’s not very often you can go for pub food when eating gluten free! Great value for money and very tasty food!

The Ship Inn is an excellent place to eat. The staff are always really nice, although sometimes it does seem like they need an extra person on the busy evenings, not a massive thing and they handle the busy nights really well. But let's get to the important stuff, the food. Man, I have to tell you the food is excellent, the starters are always a really decent portion size and you can tell its all genuinely home cooked food. I haven't had a meal here that's dissapointed, definately our go to for family birthdays or anniversaries for great atmosphere and good food. Cheers.

This place is a great value as their desserts and starters are only £2.50 and all delicious. I recommend you virtually all starters at this pub. The range of desserts is really wide. Not just 3-6 options like in most pubs. Mains. They have a deal "A starter and main for £10". Quite good. This is valid for certain range of meals. The main downside of the place is kids' manu. They don't have popular amongst children options. So don't expect chicken nuggets or sausages. The price for kids' meals is £8 for a drink, main and dessert. Portions are massive.

The inn is set out well, with plenty of space and hand sanitiser in several places. The staff are very friendly and efficient. There was an extensive menu and the food is delicious.
