I haven't been to the Winery in 11yrs but visited on Saturday with my mum and Cousin from London. The service was brilliant and the food was probably some of the best food I have tasted. My mum had the steak, my cousin the Lamb and I had the Steak burger. There is a good choice of food on the menu for everyone, including Vegan options. The restaurant was clean and tidy with a comfortable amount of people dining. The staff were really well informed when it came to the food and drinks menu. We also sampled the cocktail menu and we all said how fresh they tasted. It certainly is a place to impress. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Wow, had lunch there with some friends what a great experience. The serive and food (their fish dish) was amaxing. Thlocation and seetings in this old monastery dating back to the 13th century added to the experience. Well done to the staff.

We sat outside in the garden for our Sunday lunch, a lovely atmosphere well looked after and everything piping hot when served at the table. Definitely worth the price. My experience; Covid guidelines: One way system in place that works really well. You have plenty of space between each tables due to the size and layout of the place so it's a relaxing worry free environment. Service: Really good service, any time I needed a drink staff appeared. This is a lovely place! Can't really fault it. The food was lovely, not too much choice this allows for a better quality of food but there is definitely something for everyone. All the staff were friendly and service was very quick. For such a nice experience it was a very fair price. Will definitely be going again!

I love this place. Food is amazing. Pricey but so worth it for a special occasion or a treat. Staff are friendly and polite. I used to go to the Abbey when it was still a pub before it was changed into the winery. Always there every Friday night. Nice view of the river outside.

Disappointing sauce on the lamb dish. V v salty, no one came to check on us mid meal or I would have said earlier. The lamb itself was cooked perfectly but sauce let it down! Mentioned to 2 waiting staff, just got a 'sorry about that!' No offer of compensating! Such as a complimentary coffee or dessert! Spoilt our meal to be honest!

Great place, atmosphere and garden. Lovely service and delicious food and drinks. By the time we came back from having a walk in the garden, the starters and drinks were already at our table. The staff always checked on us which was great. The mains came at the perfect time shortly after finishing the starters. We were given a more private table which was lovely. Will come again soon!

We recently enjoyed a meal here with friends who had made the reservation. The decor inside is beautiful, although on this evening we were eating in the garden. Cozy atmosphere and blankets made the space really special. Even with a bit of rain throughout the night, we stayed warm under the cover. The menu was quite expansive, we particularly enjoyed the dessert shots! The staff were really helpful and attentive. We had a lovely time and are looking forward to going back to dine in the garden sheds.

Have been to The Winery many times before and food & service has always been very good. Unfortunately last night though while the food was as good as always the service was very slow after the main course, it was busy but the wait staff at one point didn't come back into the room we were in (with several other tables) for over 20 minutes and it took ages to get the bill. Hope next time they are more on it as they have been before.

Discovered The Winery for the first time yesterday (only lived nearby for 5 years!) and was truly amazed by this incredible hidden gem in the middle of town. Really welcoming and friendly team and a great knowledge of the wines. I’ll definitely be back to eat in the near future.

We had our Christmas Dinner at the winery Burton on Trent a party of around 30 Everyone agreed that our 3 courses were beautifully plated up modern and attractive and tasted delicious could not fault it at all The staff were very friendly , efficient and very polite. Had a fantastic time in the 'Dutch' pod outside. The staff were so lovely and attentive. The food was, as always, fantastic. The only thing I would say was that the choice of beers was a bit 'generic' - nothing very interesting. I would suggest they reduce that draft and add some craft can/bottle options. Also, the port and dessert wine were not on the menu so I wasn't sure if they were available, but the Sauterne that was available, was out of this world ! Overall, very good!

What a fantastic find. The food was phenomenal apart from our toddlers meal, the breaded chicken was over done, so it made it hard for him to eat. We did complain to the waitress who said she'd pass it on to the chef. But no compensation was offered. We ended up giving him some of our meat. This place has massively improved, from when they first bought it. The recent refurbishment has improved the restaurant to. The Lady co-owner came and had a chat and liked having a chat about what they've done and how its been.

Went to the winery a few weeks ago and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Menu is quite varied but very overpriced for what it is. I had the goats cheese & crispy beef salad for starter and main, it was nice but quite pricey. My friend had the special scallop & filo starter which she said was just ok. For £11 very dear. She had ribs for main and it was such a tight portion. There was barely any meat and she got 4, mega tight. Looking round at other portion sizes, we did not feel that this proved good value for money. Unfortunately therefore we would not Return

Food was very good, but waiting staff must be train to do the things properly ( when order ice do not come back with 4 cubs in water glass), check after 5-10 min is everything alright-my friend had her meal without a drink as no staff was available to check on us how is our meal, do we need anything else etc. Staff to take a notice when customer report for problem. In my case I discreet reported that ladies toilet run of toilet paper and when 1h later a friend of mine went she found out that holder is empty. Same in the next door! One of the soap dispenser doesn't work as well. Toilets to be monitored as situations like that are extremely unpleasant.

Really classy feel, nice atmosphere. We ordered steak and lamb cutlets, both excellent. Kids cheeseburger was a bit yuck, so my 9 year old said. Ordered drinks first thing, starters arrived before drinks.....and this stayed the same for the rest of the meal, really slow service drinks wise, repeatedly asking where they were. It took the shine off a nice birthday meal.

Valentines dinner 2020 We were so impressed, the customer service was second to none, this place knows how to do Valentines properly. We were greeted on arrival with a glass of Kir Royale and escorted to our table. The table was decorated with red petals, red tea light and chocolate in a special box, none of which we were expecting so it was a lovely surprise. Waiter service from Tyler was speedy, impeccable and very friendly. The menu was so amazing it was so hard to decide, we wanted to try everything. We'd love to come back and do a taster menu. We did go for a shared dessert plate which was the best course. Beautifully tasting food with beautiful presentation. Can recommend this place without hesitation.

Lovely food on Boxing Day. Good service in a pleasant atmosphere. Just all felt a little rushed, arrived, sat down and had finished eating in just over an hour. As three ladies we had to wait at the bar for a drink whilst 5 members of staff were serving - an acknowledgement or nod of the head to say we will be with you shortly would have been more professional. There were lots of mosquitos outside which made us move inside sooner than intended. Once at our table the serving staff were very good. I had a choking incident and Janet was very nice and kept coming back to check I was OK. The fish pie as always was delicious. Unfortunately mosquitos were also inside the restaurant and the gentleman on the next table complained about this.

Nice place to celebrate a special occasion. Food is reasonably priced but the portion sizes are relatively small. The drinks are a little bit expensive, but there is a really nice outdoor space to sit in and gardens are lovely. No dress code as such but they do have doormen on at the weekend.

Visited Burton ,my home town, yesterday to go down memory lane with one of my grandsons, I cannot rate the winery high enough,from the moment we arrived,to when we left , everything was excellent,all the staff were friendly, helpful and courteous,the food was about the best I've ever had dining out. The restraunt itself is really well presented as you would expect from a top class restraunt. Wine racks on display and very nice atmosphere. The staff were helpful and friendly. The menu is pricey but for a special occasion or treating yourself once in a while it really is an awesome experience and the food is fantastic.

The winery is the best place to go out in Burton on Trent. On every occasion you will find this winery perfect for you. If you want to have a quick drink, long chill out with bottle of wine or a dinner. The place will make you feel amazing. The building is an old part of the parish. Very beautiful designed inside with amazing decor. The staff is very kind and provide fast service. It is in the town centre but close to the park so you get the peaceful atmosphere there. Especially in the summer if you stay outside in the garden, by the river. The prices are fine. The winery provides big choice of drinks and even mocktails if you prefer non alcoholic option. It is very clean and you have a cosy atmosphere.

This is lovely restaurant in a beautiful location on the riverside of the Trent , minutes from the market place. I took my mum for a weekday lunch and the service was welcoming, attentive and lovely. The food was delicious, made with care. There are plenty of options for those on a budget and those splashing out. And a good wine list, with a carefully selected selection of glasses and bottles. Mum had sausages and mash with green vegetables and I took the fish platter. The lawn by the riverside is magical. An oasis in Burton on Trent.

The place is beautiful, unfortunately for me that's where it ends, food was average to OK for the price (we used a group on voucher) we had a table with two toddlers next to us that kept throwing things our way, parents were ignoring them, waitress was hardly on the ball and we had to flag them down to get drinks. We had to wait 15 mins before seating even though we booked, the silver was NOT polished and was grubby, I had prawns for starters and I have to say shortly after desert I rushed to the toilet and they came out violently you could say. I ordered a cappuccino to go with my desert it came before the pudding and was both mildly warm and small, was made with a welfare instant coffee type machine rather than with a proper group handle steam machine such as what Costa use. Was disappointed to say the least, my fiance wants our wedding here but no chance.

Wimbledon Prosecco Afternoon Tea Staff were very welcoming and polite. One member of staff did state that they were unsure what level of service was required as they had not previously served afternoon tea. We were offered a glass of prosecco but not tea or coffee so had to request this. The food was presented promptly. Sandwiches were all produced on white bread that was a little dry as though they had been left uncovered for a while. As we prefer wholemeal it would have been nice to have been given a choice. Both types had soft 'wet' fillings. The inclusion of a savoury pastry item could be a future consideration as there was an excess of sweet options but only the sandwiches as savoury. Cakes and sweet pastries were very nice but scones were inedible. The first scones presented were biscuit like, overcooked and very dry. After raising this with the waiter we were served with replacements along with an apology. These were slightly thicker but of the same consistency therefore, once again inedible. When your manager (name?) asked if all was okay with our afternoon tea we did raise the sandwich and scone issues but praised other foods and the politeness of staff. In response, she was very apologetic and we were kindly offered an additional drink at no extra charge which we chose to enjoy in your lovely garden. You are to be congratulated on your perfect setting on what was a most beautiful summer's day. There were also some technical issues with the Wimbledon screening but this did not affect our enjoyment as we are not fans of tennis. It is appreciated that afternoon tea is a new venture for The Winery and therefore hope that our criticisms are accepted constructively, as intended. We we will most definitely continue to frequent your fine establishment, although perhaps not for your current afternoon tea menu!
