I often attend between or after lectures at university. Since my first trip to Stoke 4 years ago I’ve loved this little chippy. The staff are a great chat and the prices are amazing; although the lack of card reader is a tad annoying for those in a rush, but there is an ATM a stone’s throw away. The cheese and curry sauce they use is immaculate! No obvious downside to the food but a star is dropped for the mixing of scraps into chips, which is bad news for those avoiding batter ingredients.

Best family run fish & chip shop in Staffordshire (and we've tried most, if not all). Lovely Steve and his wife & sis in law, are always a pleasure to talk to - they even remember your face, order and are always the friendliest. Great quality fresh fish, thick chip shop chips, as well as a large menu of chicken, pies, doner, burgers, sausages etc. Extremely generous portions, tasty food for an unbeatable price! Definitely the gem of Stoke. :)

Best chip shop in Stoke. Steve and his staff are very friendly and like a good crack. If you're a regular they always remember your order and will happily have a chat with you if they are not busy. Great traditional chip shop with outstanding service.

My girlfriend "discovered" this great chippy one day when she was coming home on the train, as it's about a one minute walk from the station. We've not been to another chippy in Stoke since: the quality of the food is brilliant and the portions are enormous. Best in Stoke! Also, the friendly service is just a bonus.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner of take-out fish & chips from here. My only mistake was I didn't realize how generous the portions are. We had a huge amount of food that we couldn't begin to finish (great problem!). This shop was suggested to us by locals, as we were just coming through Stoke via train. It's just a few blocks from the train station. I'd go there again in a heartbeat - really good food.

Great chips, great wings, Cheery staff and good prices too. It's also really close to Staffordshire university and Stoke-on-trent station. Honestly just a nice place to eat and stop through. Wait times for food aren't Long either, give it a look.

I've eaten my fair share of dinners from here on late nights working at the uni. It's very well priced for what you get - you can get a belly filling meal for just 2.50! Staff are always friendly and service is fast. Great place to get a takeaway.

What can I say about Uni Chip Shop The chips are always freshly cooked no soggy chips in here. They Do a wide variety of meals and specials which are very popular. All The Staff are very friendly well presented and the shop is always spotless. No wonder they have a 5STAR Food and Hygiene Rating. Highly Recommended! If you are a Student and fancy fish and chips you cant go wrong by paying them a visit. And their prices are very good. I rate them as 10 Stars out of 5 hee hee

How on earth anyone can complain about any aspect of this business really is beyond me. Upon entering the shop the cleanliness is immediately obvious. The food was fresh & piping hot. the guy behind the counter was well presented, efficient, polite and friendly and then came the crunch. £3.40 for fish, chips & mushy peas. I couldn't believe it. We're not talking minnow here, small whale would be more like it. Nice work lads. If ever I'm in Stoke again illI be coming in. THANKS.

Edit: This chip shop now has gone down hill. Not recommended. Poor quality chips that were soggy and oil smelt nasty even outside this place. What happened! Probably change of ownership. Old review: "Best chip shop with cheap prices in the area!" Food is always warm and the fry using the same oil as Milehouse Fish Bar so it give the food the same delish flavour. Will be coming again in the future!

Depends on who's doing the fish. If its the man who owns it, its great. But if anyone else is doing it, it will be under done and make you feel ill after eating. Chips are good and everything else is good.
