S. &. W. b. S.We've tried a lot of chip shops in the area for Friday treat night, non compare to Wetmore Chippy! The service is second to non, the staff are always smiling, super friendly and welcoming.
The food is freshly cooked and to a very high standard...just absolutely delicious. If like us you're not keen on greasy food your in the right place! I'd highly recommend to all 5* for sure!!🐟

D. F.For a long time I've been one of the naysayers on this place; I liked what I liked and there was no such thing as "best" unless you're trying them all. Even as a massively fat ****er, even I haven't tried all the chippies in Burton.
But when my usual place in Swadlincote went downhill, I needed something new for red meat chicken kebab. This place more than replaced it. Price, amount you get... it's so much better.

The fish is good however it is hit and miss sometimes it is perfect and other times the batter can be soggy. I would definitely recommend going. The price is higher than other places in burton but overall it is worth it.

L.what a top guy the gaffer is, I forgot to order cod when I walked in & ended up with haddock which my wife doesn't really like, and to soften my mistake he chucked in a load of cod bites free of charge, strangely my wife ate the haddock and loved it, her face was a picture when I told her it wasn't cod.

G.This is by far the best fish and chip shop in England, you won't find any place better in the world when it comes to fish and chips, I drive all the way up from Leicester to eat there and the owner is the best bloke you could talk to.

N.My wife works in Burton as a carer and hears nothing but good reports about this fish bar and so yesterday on her day off we took a ride over from fradley where we live to see what all the commotion was about we ordered cod and chips wrapped separately plus 1 pineapple fritter and a portion of scampi to have between us 😳we sat in the back of the van outside and OMG 😲I have not had cod & chips like this for well probably ever they were absolutely beautiful the chips were perfect the cod honestly was to die for the batter was great & the flakes of pure white cod, Man, it was superb so we just felt we had to go back into the bar to let these beautiful people know what a great job they are doing its no wonder the (place)🐟🤣 is always busy

I'd always recommend the specials as you get a really good sized portion for a really good price.
It can get busy, especially Friday lunchtime, it's worth remembering that you can phone and pre order if you're buying a large amount.

I managed to catch them at a quiet time due to the torrential downpour going on but even then I had to queue as people braved the weather to enjoy the premier chips in the area.
The best thing I can say is that whenever I get chips from a local I *always* crisp them off in the oven when I get home - this was the only time I've not needed to do this - they were fresh cooked, crisp outside and steaming hot inside.
Oh, and it's about the only time I've been tempted to say "that's enough chips thanks!" when watching the the ever friendly lady shovelling them onto the paper.
The only thing I would ask as an improvement is to label what options are vegetarian so I know what I can ask for (some places have the spring rolls as veggie options, some not).
Oh, and possibly a car park :)

They do the best fish and chips probably in the whole of the uk.
Friendly staff and cheap prices mean its always busy as people travel from neighbouring towns to purchase a good lunch.
It has limited parking outside however you can park on the roadside and there's a paid car park opposite.

When I visit my folks, they sometimes suggest having a takeaway instead of cooking ( they are both in their seventies! )
They always choose Wetmore road fish bar as they say the food tastes great.
Point proved by the fact that we have to drive to the other side of town to get there and pass 3 other chippys on the way!!!
Luckily they have main road access and the food is still piping hot by the time we get back.
