Good variety of delicious hotpot soup bases, dip sauces and vegetables/meat dishes for the hotpot.
Enjoyed the tom yum, tomato and original soup bases.
It is free flow food as long as there is no wastage.
Reasonable price and good customer service.
P. L.Underrated gem. Great portion sizes and lots of tasty options at a reasonable price. You can dine in and they also offer takeaway on just eat. They usually deliver pretty fast. Highly recommend if you want more authentic Chinese food!
Update: It’s changed a bit since I first left this review they’ve added a huge selection of vegan/vegetarian options which is great. My only complaint is that figuring out how to order non vegan food was almost impossible on just eat but I was finally able to find their regular menu on deliveroo and it was great!
J. S.Their hotpot base is so amazing! Very different from other restaurants. Definitely worth try. The only drawback is the quality of raw foods, such as veg, sausages, beef, lamb, etc.. which can be improved.

j.By far the best Chinese iv had EVER.
I have eaten in Star for over 7 years and iv NEVER had a bad meal.
Cannot comment on their take away as iv only eaten in on their authentic Chinese menu.

p. c.Excellent authentic proper Chinese food when things are working well. Unfortunately you have the feeling that sometimes the staff can't be bothered to live up to that standard. I went twice and had 2 very different experiences. The owner needs to keep an eye on the restaurant. Properly managed this place would be a gem. It was only the great experience on my first visit that stopped me from rating this place lower.
