I prebooked a table for 10 adults for a 40th birthday celebration...we were given the private function room which was a lovely touch & I could bring balloons & banners in & also a birthday cake earlier in the day which made it a lovely surprise for the birthday boy...we ordered the food & 3 of us ordered the mega mixed grill & 3 the mega fish & chips which is a tall order & to be honest they were all presented beautifully & cooked to absolute perfection & so were the other meals & they were all brought out together & were piping hot & the staff throughout the evening were lovely & friendly & very attentive checking that everything was ok & definite compliments to the chef & I would highly recommend this place for food & staff & we will most definitely be returning again. Had a lovely meal for my daughter's 30th on 9/7/22. There was about 30 of us in the function room. We didn't have to wait long for our meals. One staff in particular, Luke, was very good. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he was very helpful and polite, so thank you Luke and keep up the good work.

Really splendid food. I ordered the green salad with roast vegetables and chicken and bacon and it's the best salad I have ever had. Wonderfully fresh ingredients and prepared superbly. The children's area is consistent with what I expected.

When we visited it was that busy yet we waited 50 mins for our mains and then told it would be another hour for dessert! If your in no hurry and not starving then worth going.

Had a great family meal last night. Staff were really helpful and despite not realising the soft play closed earlier than expected they kept our table reserved and let us take our two children in to play for free. Food was served quickly and was great. We will be back.

Unfortunately our visit didn't live up to past experiences. The staff had a very lackadaisical attitude. Both mine & my wife's chips where soft, cold and soggy as if they had been sat under the hot lamps for a significant period of time. My wife's sirloin steak was over cooked with a significant amount of gristle through the middle. I had the dirty stack burger which was blummin lovely. It was exceedingly quiet for a bank holiday Monday however, we were waiting a considerable amount of time. We may return to give it a 2nd chance so watch this space 😓😓

It's a local pub that serves what you expect. Nothing fancy just drinks and good food. The let down is the decor, looks old and dated and really dark inside, but also the outdoor furniture creaks and moves when you sit on it. I still happily visit there when I fancy a trip to the pub though.

Visited today 3 adults and 1 year old. Noone to greet us had to find someone asked to sit outside to be told that was fine the way they the guy just walked off so we found a table ourselves had to hunt for a. Chair that wasn't wobbling or coming apart at joints, food wasn't great we had mains and dessert (waited over 30 mins for 3 sundaes and feel the food let it down alot, services was lovely which is a shame.

Ok so, What a service! Two juicy corn on the cobs for less than a pound! Mmmmm scrumptious! The booze is lovely along with the staff, and to top it off I even seen a bartender applying sun cream to a customer! Now to say the least, that bloke had some numb legs!

Visited on Good Friday, 2019, was very quiet, my grandson had full range of the play area which was clean and tidy. We booked a table for 7pm and the service was very good and friendly, however the steak I ordered with upgrade was very poor so much so that I couldn't eat it, it was full of gristle. I wasn't going to complain that I didn't receive the tomato and mushroom as advertised with the meal but as I couldn't eat the steak, medium done, I thought better of it. I was told very sorry but they would leave feedback for the suppliers! That to me is very poor customer service, that does not rectify that I couldn't eat my meal. I should not have had to pay for a meal I couldn't eat! At least, a free drink or dessert but nothing! Very disappointed! 😥

I visit here with my family regularly. My daughter plays in Fuzzy Eds soft play, and always has tonnes of fun - she loves the slushies and the events they have on. Everywhere is always very clean and has a great atmosphere. We eat in the pub itself so I can have the sizzle plates (I LOVE the chicken fajitas and messy Mexican chicken). Friendly staff, fab food - what else can you ask for??

Not enough staff behind the bar. On our family visit only one person behind the bar leading to a long wait on getting served. Plus a 40 minute wait on food. It was not that busy, so clearly understaffed. Food was sent to wrong table but this was quickly remedied by friendly staff. Food was okay, nothing outstanding and nothing rubbish. On the plus side, the children's play area was good and the staff member their was friendly.

We went here a couple of weeks ago with friends and family, altogether there were 16 of us so quite a large party. We did phone ahead a few days before, but were told reservations couldn't be made. When we arrived staff were very friendly and helpful. They managed to gather enough tables together fairly quickly to accommodate us all. Food was very nice although we did have a problem with the steak, everybody who ordered steak had it served medium rare opposed to how it was asked for. To be honest, if the steak was cooked how it was ordered I'd have probably given 5 star as myself and the rest of the party where very happy with their food. I would certainly go there again.

We drove out to visit friends for NYE and have some food and drink. The place was buzzing and a great atmosphere of family’s and couples enjoying themselves. We ordered a few starters to share and they came out quick despite it being rammed. empty plates - even 2 fussy teenagers! No room for pudding as the portions are great but I did try the orange gin! We will definitely return.

Pub restaurants like this need to know their limits. We came here last weekend and the staff clearly couldn't handle the bookings they had taken. We waited over an hour for our food and when it came the orders were slightly wrong. Nothing major but given how long we had waited, it did irk us. Had good experiences here in the past though so I will be giving the place another chance in the future, I just feel that they shouldn't take bookings that they know they can't handle.

Food and service was great and the play area for the children is superb. We love coming here. Had to swap tables because of a foul mouthed local shouting obscenities around children but you can get that anywhere. Apart from that I can't fault the place and that wasn't the establishments fault. Food was faultless and the price we payed compared to places we have been recently was very good in value for what we orded.

Attended the Christmas party this evening with my little girl. Mr and Mrs Claus was absolutely fantastic. The party host Laura did a fantastic job it was lovely to see big smiles on all the kids faces and to see how excited they was when she handed out the letters that Mr and Mrs Claus had left for each child whilst they was having there food. Laura went that extra mile and even dressed up as an elf which the children also loved. I would definitely bring my little girl to any other events that happen in the future

Great value for money as it's a 2 for 1 service great most of the time kids play area at an additional cost also football matches played in the over 18s side of the bar so an ideal dating pub so u can see the match in the background and still look interested at the same time

We are regular Sunday morning breakfasters, at The Red Lion. The service is always excellent here, nothing is ever too much trouble.The staff are really pleasant and smiley.
