Reviews of Friar Street Kitchen

Amazing experience. Booked a table for my girlfriends birthday. We were greeted with champagne and smiles. We both enjoyed our food and the chilled atmosphere. Jealous of Kates brownie baking skills.

We went here for my friend's baby shower. The food was tasty and well presented. The food were set on a bench which was really cute and I could say very Instagramable. The entire set serves 2 which costs £22/head, is a good value for money as it includes a drink as well. I wasn't able to finished the cakes so they brought out some boxes for us which is really nice of them as with some restaurants, you'll be embarrassed to ask for the left overs to be taken home. So, kudos to the staff for this additional service as the cakes are so delicious we don't want to go on a waste. And last but not the least, staff are really friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a nice chatter!

Went for the Easter afternoon tea bench we upgraded to the rhubarb and custard cocktails . Everything was superb!!! The food was delicious the cakes were yummy the cocktails were amazing and the service from Kate was 5 star!!!
Thankyou for such a lovely afternoon treat we will definitely be returning.

Great service and food. The cheese platter was amazing!

Went for dinner last night, just the two of us. Table wasn't ready when we arrived, but it happens, so we went for another drink. This didn't mar a great night's food though. Just olives and bread to start but that under sells them. Really good olives, and soft bread that had a crust that tasted like fried bread. Can't visit here without having steak and it didn't disappoint, beautifully cooked medium rare, side of green veg and chips. The best pepper sauce I've had for a while brought it all together. Stuffed at this point but had to do desert. I had a nice creme brulee, but my wife had the biscoff cheesecake which, if you're a biscoff fan, will be the best thing you'll eat in a while. Awesome! Great wine, from a small selection but I get the feeling you probably can't choose a bad one. They'll be on the menu because they're all good. I asked if they had desert wine, which they don't, but I was persuaded to have a "special" Irish coffee. More alcohol than coffee but a lovely way to finish a lovely meal. Service was great, friendly and chatty. (BTW, thanks for the wine taster, you know who you are, very nice)
Definitely be back.

We travelled from South Birmingham after seeing the picnic benches on Instagram for FSK. My mother-in-law has had a really rough time lately and we wanted to treat her to something special. FSK delivered exactly that.
Super cosy, quirky and magical atmosphere. The lady who looked after us was incredibly friendly and made us feel like nothing was too much of a problem.
But seriously, the food. Was. Amazing. It was presented beautifully, in an unseen, unique and picture-perfect way and somehow tasted better, then it looked! Truly brilliant value, generous portions and every item was cooked and flavoured just right. The desserts were so good it's pickled my mind how you even got them that good! How were the brownies that tasty!? Hands down the best desserts I have ever tried in a restaurant.
We booked on the spot for December! Can't wait to visit again and see what the winter selection has to offer! Thank you so much for a needed, lovely evening. We will be recommending you to everyone!

We stopped here for lunch, went for something simple that tasted absloutley lovely!!! Chicken & Halloumi flat bread (without halloumi) as I dont eat cheese and my husband had a CBA salad, what are both simple dishes perfected to within an inch, clearly a lot of effort is put in to their food here all cooked from scratch.

The service from the staff was some of the best I have had. They catered directly for my wife's gluten and diary allergy and adapted the menu to ensure she had a good evening. The food was excellent and I would recommend to anyone.
J. C.
Fantastic little eatery. Try the plank/board options - mind blowing scran. Can be quite expense and at times you need to book about 12 years in advance, but when you’re in there - bosh!
C. C.
AMAZING! We came at the weekend for my friend's mini hen do, she was (as was I) blown away by the food, the cocktails and the service. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back soon!
M. C.
Great food and atmosphere. Have been for both lunch and dinner and great both times.
R.
Great food, child seat provided and plenty of space for pram. Staff went above and beyond to help. Food was great, ate off the lunch menu and recommend the chicken and halloumi flatbread. Delicious.
A. F.
What a lovely place. We ate here from a recommendation as a good place for gluten and dairy free dining. And they were correct. Kate was very helpful and said that most meals could be made suitable as everything was prepared fresh. I had a chicken burger with chips, which sounds ordinary but it was sublime. My sister had a regular burger which just happened to be vegan. The place had a lovely atmosphere, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this place or making a return visit. It's so lovely to be able to eat out like a normal diner. Thank you 😊
K. A.
Staff are always great, the share boards are to die for! My favourite restaurant in Worcester!
S.
Lovely evening. Thank you. Food really good especially the sizzling beef. One of the best steak meals I have every had. Loved the skinny chips with skin on so tasty. 5 stars is not enough.
N. M.
Excellent little find, great to know they source all their ingredients locally. Well cooked food and excellent service too. Would revisit again 😁😋
S. S.
Lovely festive afternoon tea 💗😋 delicious , fresh and tasty 🤩 I would definitely recommend!
G.
Have been here several times now for the afternoon tea benches and they just get better each time! It’s a lovely place to sit in as it’s super cosy and decorated beautifully. It’s also really good value, can’t wait for the next visit.
B. R.
Just visited for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Absolutely love this place, friendly cosy atmosphere, wonderful staff and the food was the best I've had in Worcester.

5 star class of restaurant
Good vibe. Amazing food. Staff friendly cooperative in food changes. Caters for most lifestyles. Fantastic independent restaurant in the heart of worcester. That popular you have to book. Special occasions catered for.
A. M.
Excellent customer service. We went here for my partners birthday. The staff made the night for us, with complimentary prosecco and excellent food. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a great meal out
C. C.
Lovely lunch date, enjoyed the picnic table, generous portion at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!
T. K.
Great steak and peppercorn sauce is the best. Been twice now and the food has been consistently good.

Had a fantastic time last night at the Friar Street Kitchen.
The food and service was fantastic. It was great to see a restaurant not trying to be everything to everyone. They specialise in what they do well and it shows in the quality of their food.
The staff are fantastic too as well as the restaurant itself. Lovely atmosphere.
Highly recommended to anybody local and anybody who doesn't mind a short drive off the M5.
We'll be back next year on our way back from Bristol.
G. E.
Friendly staff and cozy decor.
Lamb burger with mint dressing was lovely...part from the brioche bun, I'm never a fan of these anywhere or anytime.
Friend had the beef burger and he was not impressed..not seasoned and not beefy. Also the bacon was a little under cooked.
The chips were fabulous and coffees were perfect.
J. D.
I love owners and cosy inside- say no more! 💚💚
A. A.
Had a lovely birthday celebration lunch here. Booked via email, waitress was lovely, attentive but discrete. Food was fabulous, both the steak and the vegetarian burger. Reasonable price and happy to pay it. Would highly recommend.
M. K.
Fantastic food! As a “well done” steak lover, I placed myself firmly in the hands of the staff and asked for their recommendation as to the best way cooked, cut of meat. I was not to be disappointed! Lovely, local produce, great customer service and this restaurant comes highly recommended. My wife and I have dined here on several occasions. Certainly one of the best!
L. T.
Delicious food and drinks, generous portions, great atmosphere, great to see ethical, locally sourced produce. Will definitely be back!
D. H.
Lovely independent restaurant. Great menu. Local produce. Visiting Worcester on business but will come back soon even if just to bring my friends here to eat as worth the trip! Staff very attentive and friendly. Service excellent..
H. T.
Amazing burger and chicken sizzling platter. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back. The afternoon tea also looked fantastic.
A. A.
Was looking for a place for lunch as I had a rare afternoon without the kids, and Friar Steet Kitchen was recommended, and boy I'm glad it was.
We had a bench, and the food was fantastic, everything was cooked to perfection, and much my wife's delight there was as much pudding as main!
I also had a chocolate milkshake, again fantastic.
There service was friendly and efficient, but the food was the real star of the show, I would go back again.
It is a small venue so I would recommend booking, but we'll worth a visit, I will be going back again 😀
L. D.
Amazing… food was perfect .. really looked after ..our table of eight although being a small restaurant ….
Can’t praise it enough really fabulous find … will visit again if ever we get the opportunity…
L. A.
A restaurant with some personality and an intimate feel... it makes such a refreshing change. We went to FSK for our anniversary dinner last night and from start to finish it was a wonderful experience! The manager and her staff were all friendly and really helpful, the food was exceptional... especially the steaks which were so rich in flavour. We shared a big cookie dessert with toasted marshmallows and I was in heaven it was so delicious! Great wine choices by the manager. Can't wait to come back!
C. G.
This is a small restaurant, but their ambitions are high. They serve excellent food in a very friendly atmosphere. They are innovative and have menus to suit most tastes. Special requests - no problem. Highly recommended. Only regrets, we only visit the area twice a year!
W.
FSK is always my go to restaurant in Worcester. Constantly serving top notch food with such friendly staff. Love everything about it. 10/10 always ❤️
G. T.
Had their Easter Picnic bench for my birthday, this isn't the first one I've ever had but here was by far the best! All locally sourced food as well was an added bonus! Will definitely be back for the Greek night and to try the normal menu.
L. W.
Lovely decor, friendly service and a stunning menu that was so hard to choice from. I had the fillet steak it was perfectly cooked, peppercorn sauce was the best I've ever had. Lemon tart was yesty and clearly homemade. Highly reccomended little restaurant with lovely staff.
M. S.
This place is consistent and delicious! They are also always willing to accommodate picky eaters like I am. Also, the best burger and chips I've had since leaving the states and, trust me, that's saying something. The owners and staff are also very friendly.
T. P.
Sat outside on a gorgeous summer's day, staff were very helpful and accomodating. I had chicken flat bread which was very tasty and a good sized portion. Limited menus and no larger on tap. Will definitely be back.
F. R.
Consistently excellent. I've eaten here a number of times and have never been disappointed! Excellent steaks, a lovely selection of wines (particulary the Massey Dacta!), and gorgeous homemade desserts. If you have the opportunity to go on one of their Mexican or Greek nights you're in for a serious treat! The staff are always super friendly and go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is spectacular from start to finish and I can't rate them highly enough.
R. B.
I wish they would reflect on their menu how they can serve to food allergies... I don't think it's that difficult to add V/Ve/GF/DF to just let people know what's available. I
R. B.
Fantastic place! First time in beautiful Worcester and we were fortunate to find this little gem. The rump steak was the best I've had in a long time, with all food locally sourced, the staff were excellent and the vibe and decor is very cool. Highly recommend a night out here!
D. W. B.
Amazing food, lovely setting and great staff. Hot cheese sharing starter is highly recommended. Can't wait to visit again.
R. A.
Best steak I've ever had in a restaurant. Excellent quality of meat. I had a dry aged rib eye and you can really taste it. I ask for it to be cooked rare and that's exactly how it came. Not a lot of restaurants will do or can do that these day's. Further more, it's really shows the confidence they have in the quality of meat they have to serve it rare. Sautéed greens in garlic butter, potato dauphinoise, onions rings. All excellent.
Great gin selection, will eat and drink there again.
K. E.
The five of us had a lovely meal here tonight. The sea bass was very tasty, my daughter had the griddled chicken and her partner had the lamb burger which he highly rated. I had the rump steak and that too was wonderful. Please also try The Cookie Monster and the Strawberry and Nutella desserts. Staff are very helpful and polite. Thank you.
M. J.
Food was delicious, however I should point out that starters are most definitely sharer plate
K. S.
Lovely small hidden gem. The food was delicious. Steak especially was cooked to perfection. We had the lunch menu, will definitely be back for the evening menu.
C. E.
Absolutely amazing place! Great if you are popping in for a quick lunch, afternoon tea (which comes on a picnic bench) or a nice evening out. The food is outstanding and I would highly recommend! 5*
L. M.
We had one of the Autumn benches last night. Absolutely amazing. 100 % recommend 😆5 stars and more!!! ⭐
S. T.
Beautifully cooked steak for a good price. Nice cocktails on special. On a return visit the Alice in wonderland afternoon tea was fantastic!
W. J.
Stopping over in Worcester for one evening, saw some reviews of FSK and decided to try my luck. The burger was incredible, potentially the best I've had in the UK - certainly the best I've had for a whule. Also great ambience. If I'm in town again I will definitely revisit. No higher praise.
E. L.
Amazing food! Has become my favourite go to place for birthdays and other special occasions. Staff are so welcoming and lovely.
L. H.
Friendly service, nice atmosphere, good but limited menu

Myself and my colleagues go to a restaurant every month, and we wanted to try Friar Street Kitchen this month. It was a really cosy restaurant and you can tell Kate and Matthew really put their love into this.
Miller & Carter was our last and it was awful in comparison, the food at Friar Street was perfect. One of my colleagues likes his steak rare, (to the point where it has seen a candle) and Friar Street Kitchen got it perfect. Compared to Miller and Carter who over cooked the steak.
Friar Street Kitchen is highly recommended
J. C.
Friar Street Kitchen has everything. The decor is tasteful , the staff are outstanding, they are attentive and friendly, whilst the ambience is just delightful and the food is excellent in both its presentation and taste. Highly Recommend.
R. F.
Good food and amazing chef, steak cooked to perfection. Nice and cozy with a good atmosphere

I travel a 2hr round trip to this place every few months for a picinic bench. Always accomadated wether we bring kids or not. Nothing is too much trouble. Have previously hired out the venue for a party. Great little local bistro.
100% recommend
P. C.
Definetly recommend if you want a different experience, lovely place good food, not a fast food food place!!!

I had a really fantastic meal here, simple but perfectly balanced and good value. I can’t wait to return
L. B.
Lovely meal this evening with friendly effient service.Excellent food and good company.
P. T.
Perfect and ignore comments regarding limited menu. A menu that has lots of choices is a good indicator for poor quality, you cannot get good quality and a massive menu.
A. C.
Food was lovely and quick friendly service- highly recommend the cookie to share for pudding!
H. G.
The best place for decent burgers! You wont be disappointed! Im addicted to this joint
