Been going for a couple of years now. And still love the place. Food is excellent, Staff are really friendly, and they do great (bourbon) cocktails. Kids meal is also great value… Burger Fries and a drink = 7

Absolutely brilliant. Firstly. We were super impressed with the service and attention to details such as double checking food allergies at time of booking and again when seating us. The staff were all friendly and seem to know exactly what they are doing and although the restaurant was busy the staff didn't appear to be rushing or stressed and gave off a cool air of chill which really helped set the tone of the restaurant. The restaurant itself feels super trendy with dark decor, pops of bright red, and a really cool neon lit tunnel to walk through at the entrance. You almost feel like you're entering a different dimension. There is a roof terrace too but we didn't see it this time round although will have a look next time. Excellent atmosphere overall. There was a great choice of non alcoholic mocktails which we were pleased to see and they were obviously thought out and interesting instead of the common basic 'fizzy juice' options you often see at places. The menu was full of awesome burgers (well, it is a burger joint) with a really varied and interesting selection, with lots of weird and wonderful options, and the actual food served did not disappoint our expectations. The burgers were amazing and we really enjoyed them. The loaded fries were great too but be warned the portions are huge! 😍😂 Service was quick, and our waiter even gave us the option to get the bill quickly or to chill a bit after the meal. This impressed us as we are the 'eat and leave' kind of family so get frustrated when it takes ages to get the bill and pay after we have finished eating. Overall the food and service here was brilliant and we can't wait to return! Highly reccommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I've always wondered: why pay so much for a burger when you can get a takeaway burger for so much less, but I was not disappointed. Probably the best burger I've ever had. Also the chips were awesome, although chips and a burger is a lot of food. I'd recommend sharing the chips. Everything was delivered quickly and piping hot. Apart from the drinks - they were meant to be cold. The restaurant is clean and modern, while the service was pleasant and friendly. Can't fault the place!

Visited here 2 weeks ago with friends, little too my knowledge that this was actually featured in the top 10 independent restaurants in the UK for many years in a row. However they were fantastic. The venue is nice at the back and the service was very good. The juicy burger was indeed juicy, however the special sauce added a strange taste to it. Perhaps a poor choice. Having said this my friend had the piggie smalls burger doubled up and had a similar taste and experience. We both left thinking it's not our number 1 choice for a burger. It was good. Just not as tasty as we had hoped. The presentation of them is superb though. When I can, I go to the beefy boys in Hereford which personally has the edge over this. Everyone's tastes are different which I appreciate. The BBQ chicken wings were good and the fries ok with the toppings, although the bacon-aise needed something more to it. It was a good meal, but it's a burger were I wouldn't rush back to have another. Which is a shame as I had high hopes for this place.

Hear about this place online, also had good reviews so made the 30 min trip to go. If you are lucky and go later or on Sunday there is free parking on the side of the street, otherwise during the day you will have to find a paid car park and walk, there's plenty around but will be a few mins walk. It was amazing. The decor of the place is great, really trendy. There is music playing, it's not very loud but does cause the place to be a bit noisy so don't expect a quiet meal out. The staff were very attentive and we were not left waiting, it was busy inside but we were served quickly for drinks, there is a very good cocktail menu but also a good selection of mocktails suitable for non alcohol drinkers. Someone on another table ordered a cocktail that arrived on fire, it was really impressive. After the drinks arrived the guy took our order, our son is picky so asked for a few changes, all were took without issue. It took around 15 mins for the food to arrive and wow it looked great and everything exactly as ordered. Once we finished the guy cleared our table and asked if we wanted more drinks or the bill, we said bill and he asked if we wanted the card machine, we said yes and straight away we had paid and on our way. Really great staff, no messing, no waiting around just a great hassle free tasty meal in a really nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back again. For 3 burgers, 3 mocktails and 3 sides is came to just over £67 thst I think is reasonable considering the taste of the food and drinks.

Well what can I say about Hanbao! I have tasted many burgers in many different towns. Hanbao is literally the very best burger you will taste, no question. I had the "Ceasors Palace, BBC Fries and Twerk chicken wings. The taste of all 3 was out of this world.... The restaurant itself is also very cool visually... We will definately be back and I would highly recommend trying them out 🍔👍🏾

Great burgers! I just wished they had more vegan options as they only have 1 vegan burger on the menu at the moment but it was really good! They also adapted the menu to offer vegan mayo with our fries which was highly appreciated.

Stopped in for lunch while sightseeing in Worcester. Had seen some good reviews. And this is good. I had the Caesars Palace chicken because I wanted the crunch. Well fried chicken, nice sauces. Could have been a bit spicier for me but still a good meal. Very friendly staff and good service. Nice setting for a meal.

My god this place does the best burgers I've ever tasted. I was sceptical of the sweet doughnut bun at first but it is an absolutely delicious combination alongside the chilly and savoury flavours. Will absolutely be returning soon.

Restaurant feels very contemporary if a little dark. Could quite easily be a nite club with the sounds of house music floating around. Staff were really friendly and attentive. There is a fast turn around but you don't feel rushed. The food itself was amazing. Dilemmas over what to order as it all sounded amazing. Chose well and came away feeling truly satisfied. Will definitely go again next time I'm in Worcester. Would recommend booking although I think walk ins are available. An enjoyable experience all round.

Great food and drinks! Really accommodating to allergies, I have a gluten intolerance and they had a GF burger bun as an alternative, as well as an option to have oven bake chips instead of fried so there's no chance of cross contamination from the fryers. The prices were spot on for the service and food/beverages on offer. The place itself was nice and clean!

Food used to be better than it is now. Still enjoyed 3 out of 4 burgers last night though. My friend's burger had a completely burnt bacon inside. Some other bits of her meal was burnt too so she needed to scrape or cut off some chunks of her meal. We said this to our waiter of course but he didn't seem too bothered about it.

The service and atmosphere are still top notch. Our waiter, Alex, was friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Started by asking about any allergies and then took our drinks orders whilst we looked at food. Our drinks arrived, with one of the cocktails being spilt a bit whilst being carried over, so had to use a napkin to mop up the glass/table. The food quality is still really really good. The bao before Christmas being a really nice special. The sides menu has been slimmed down with no Mac balls/tater tots etc. The fries have also been changed with the BBC no longer being mixed sweet potato and normal fries. The portion sizes have also been downsized over time. Still worth visiting but seemingly losing its edge a little bit.

Order the Hong Kong phooey burger. Absolutely delicious! I can not find a better culturally infused burger anywhere. All their food to a high standard as I have tried other dishes too and have always been very pleased woth their food. The decor of the restaurant although can be seen as plain, is actually very modern and culturally reflective and works really well. Loving the entrance corridor.

Absolutely delicious, would definitely go and again and highly recommend! The mac and cheese burger was so juicy and all it's components went well together. The red sauce was slightly too tangy though. The loaded fries with chicken strips was the highlight for me, the sauce was so moreish and both the chicken and chips were fried perfectly. The wings were nice but not on the same level as the burgers and loaded fries. The mock tail was more ice than juice but still tasty.

Went with the children as a celebration of ending another school year. Really busy for a Wednesday evening, so there was quite a wait for food, to the point that the kids had finished their drinks and I'd drunk most of my pint. When the food arrived, it was very tasty and the skin on fries were superb. I ordered a Piggie Smalls burger but received a Hanbao burger, which was quite annoying, but only realised after I'd taken a mouthful. Still a great burger though.

I am gf and df I ordered a burger and because I couldn't have quite a bit on it they custom made me a chicken fillet seasoned with red cabbage slaw vegan cheese and pineapple on it was lovely. The burgers are delicious! Hanbao burger has a unique taste. The charsiu sauce wasn't overpowering at all. A different take on burgers. I love it! We also ordered Ceasar's Chicken Burger. The buttermilk chicken was perfect. Again, the Ceasar sauce in the burger wasn't overpowering at all. Just perfect balance of flavour. They give great portions of burgers. Even the fries are good to share if you have a company coz, I, myself can't finished the entire thing. I also like the size of soft drinks which is big enough for £2.50. Unlike some other establishments wherein the drinks are smaller and pricier. So, hats off to Hanbao! Lovely trendy place as well. Definitely going to come back.

Make sure you order some chicken wings - awesome! Was visiting my dad in worcester and my brother found this place online. The burgers were insane (Hanbao and ODB) the Miso Dirty fries were so tasty and glad I ordered some bbq wings to share as they had a light crispy batter coating before being tossed in sauce and were gorgeous. Waiters were efficient and friendly. My only criticism was the loudness of the music on a sunday night - made it hard to chat.

Good restaurant, but just trying a bit too hard. I think the novelty factor would wear off very quickly and most of the burgers on the menu I'm sure you would only try once. I enjoyed my burger and the sides were interesting, but again, good food doesn't have to be outlandish. The feel of the place is like a nightclub and it has a very trendy vibe, a little dark on the lighting, but an enjoyable experience. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Was comparing this to “the beefy boys” in Hereford and I have to say that first impression from walking through the door to the smallest decorations on the wall this place really is a sick place to eat or even just chill. We’ve wanted to try Hanbao for ages. Always see the posts on Instagram! Finally got a table of 8 together and couldn’t fault it. Atmosphere is great. Waiting staff attentive and fun, service was fast and the food was insane. Only bad part was choosing which burger to have. Mac ball side dish was amazing. Fries were next level and the burger was to die for. It’s an hour from us but we will back for sure!!! Only thing I would like to see is more choice at their dessert shop/venture next door (Icebao). Bit pricy with not much choice. Still didn’t put a dampener on our time in hanbao though. Thank you!

Best burger I've eaten in my life...period! Side dishes were pretty amazing too. Burger wise I had the Philly Cheese Steak, cooked perfectly and the flavours were amazing. My friend had the Mac & Cheese which came with a Mac and Cheese Ball on top. The Mac and Cheese was perfect and I'll be ordering the Mac and Cheese balls as a side next time! Side dish wise, between us we had the Pork Belly bites which just melted in your mouth and the chicken wings which were nice and crunchy on the outside with the most tender meat that just fell off the bone! Can't wait to go back!

BEST BURGER EVERRRRR! I had their signature burger. Never had anything like it (the one with the sauce all over it) shaolin fries my husband desperately wanted to try and we wanted to share. I couldn't tell you how many times I've been here now, but their menu is fantastic! Great selection of different burgers and their sides are amazing! When I go it's usually because of one of their 'special' limited time burgers so I rarely eat from the main menu! Can't fault the overall vibe of the place either.

My only complaint is they seem to have got rid of the online/mobile queuing system which was super convenient and practical especially at peak times when the wait times can be looong. I can honestly say, I have never had a better burger in my life. It Was juicy, every flavour note could be tasted, it wasn't greasy and the names were on point. The only downside to the burger is that it was too tall, so I had to deconstruct a little. This is hardly an issue though. As for the sides, they were just like the burger. Well made, well presented and mouth watering. If there is only two of you, one side is enough but I would recommend getting one each, so you can experience more of the menu. The cocktails, they were well presented, made with care and fines and were just as enjoyable as the food. The staff were great and knew all about what they served and so I can not fault this place. I will be back for sure. If you are in a group of 6, you can book a table bit for smaller groups it's first come first serve. If there are no tables free, you can enjoy a drink at the bar or in the seating areas. Don't worry though, it's very much worth the wait. It's well located for people travelling by train as it is very close to Forget a Street station

Burgers were good if not life changing, the easiest way to describe it was like a step up from a five guys. The Fries on the other hand WERE lifechanging. Food was absolutely superb and not overly pricey, decent portion sizes and the burgers cooked to perfection. The waiting staff have their finger on the pulse too which seems to be rare these days. it's the simple things that make a difference, like remembering who ordered what and noticing when a drinks refill might be needed. Would definitely revisit.

One of the best burgers in Worcester. I love the theme of the burgers paying homage to mainly old hip hop tracks/artists (The notorious B.I.G, Wu-tang clan etc) and more new artist/tracks (Odd future, A$AP Ferg, Big Shaq). The food is really good quality and seems like a great place to start a Friday night out in terms of food and cocktails. While the price is at a premium for the meal, it is still an independent business, which I'm willing to support. It has now been one of the main reasons for myself to come to Worcester and I cannot recommend it enough.

Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had, great presentation and nothing bad to say about the service. Even on a Saturday lunchtime we got in easily despite not being able to book. I expect a night time would be a different story as there was never an empty table around us. Highly recommended.

Very limited options for vegetarians/vegans, with just one double patty burger and plain fries on the menu. That being said it was a very tasty burger and fries, but the fact that the burger was called 'hard to please' felt a bit off. It's clear Hanbao are more about their meat which is fine, but I felt they could have done more by giving choice to cater for those who can't/choose not to eat meat.

Let's start with the negatives. Recommend getting 5+ together so you can book. 4 of us rocked up at 8pm on a Wednesday and didn't sit until 9.30pm. Not a massive issue as we were told an hour to 75mins wait. Positives: the food, the food, the food....did I say the food. Had a WR1, with ol' dirty fries which were fantastic and worth the wait. Service was good. Definitely recommend it.

I took my two children last week as it was the 14yr olds birthday. It was his suggestion and I’m glad I listened to him. The premises itself is great , modern and a nice feel to it. Everything comes in dim sum baskets and there are some really interesting options such as mac and cheese balls on the burgers glazed donuts and other seemingly odd toppings that actually all work really well. As a vegetarian, it feels odd to be appreciating a burger venue, but they do a lovely vegan-based burger, the "Even Harder to Please." You can also request to swap-in a vegan pattie in many of the other burger options (obviously, there are some burgers where you just couldn't do this). The staff are always so friendly and helpful and seem to be enjoying their job - which shows that the management team must be doing something right. It's always so very busy there, though, so I'd always advise booking ahead! Admittedly, I wouldn't go there if it wasn't for my partner and other close friends who enjoy the meat-based burgers, but only because of my opinions about farming animals for consumption etc. Anyway... you didn't come here for a lecture; yes, I do recommend this place, but I advise you to order the plant-based pattie!! I have been coming here for years and I can honestly say they have never disappointed! Food is always excellent, lots of choice, great flavours and interesting new ideas. A personal favourite is the Philly Cheese burger and Mac Balls side! It was our first time at Hanbao Worcester and it didn't disappoint. We were required to pre book due to the current guidelines but we picked the 19.45 slot so that we made the full use of our time. As the time slots are (90mins). After arriving we were shown to our table on the huge roof terrace, some areas are heated and some aren't. The waiter left us with the menu to let us decide. There's about ten different burger choices including two for veggies/vegans. The waiter allowed us to switch things in/out from our burger order like an extra mac'n'cheese patty. There's a some loaded fries to choose from and also some chicken wings sides. It all arrived in good time and I have to say everything was top notch. The cocktails are also very good although I would say a little too sweet for myself. Very good service from the friendly staff and all in all a great night. Thanks Team Hanbao

Firstly let me start by saying me and my partner enjoyed the food tremendously! The burgers were incredible, the waffle fries were amazing and for the portion size it was definitely value for money. However, the fact they do not take bookings is extremely inconvenient as in order to have a wait time less than an hour you would need to turn up as soon as they open! I do understand this as I presume the have this system to ensure people spend more money on drinks and cocktails (which were delicious by the way) but I did get the feeling we were only there to give them money and that was the main goal. Secondly the area in which you eat is just an all round horrible experience! It is a black room with a few bulbs hung from the ceiling, jam packed with tables to fit as many in as they possibly can. We happened to visit on a particularly warm evening which I understand may be problematic but it was sweltering in there - no ventilation at all (spare a couple of overworked fans). The heavy rap and hip hop music was being blasted through the speakers making it impossible for me and my partner to hold a conversation. Overall, if bookings were available and perhaps a more comfortable and relaxed dining area was provided I would be rushing here every weekend to fill up on good food and cocktails but sadly I don't think I will be returning while it continues in this state.

Nut Allergy - Great Service I've been to Hanbao many times and love everything about it, and so we decided to order from their click and collect menu for a special occasion. One of our party has a severe nut allergy, and Hanbao were really great in accommodating this. Each item we ordered was prepared, cooked and even packaged in a separate nut-free area, making for an enjoyable evening knowing that there was nothing to worry about. Arrived at 7.30pm having been told we couldn't book in advance, only to be told we'd be waiting over an hour and should've booked! Just about to give up and leave when we got a table miraculously. The food, however, was absolutely amazing. Had the Mac Daddy Kane with Shaolin fries - probably the best burger I've tasted. Definitely worth a visit but book before you go despite what they say to you on the phone.

Visited today for my son’s birthday which the manager who saw us to the table asked whose birthday it was . We were seated and served cocktails and ordered food by Dan who was a very cheerful and polite young man . Cocktails were really good , The Manager brought the food out and I asked her for some more cocktails we ate our meals then 20 minutes later still had no drinks I asked dan where they were and the Manager had forgotten so I cancelled them and got the bill , poor Dan had to apologise on her behalf which for a manager is appalling, the atmosphere is good just poor service very disappointed as it was my sons birthday.

Went here as it was hyped up as being a lovely place to eat with a good atmosphere. If I'm honest, alot of that is true, it had good food and a good atmosphere. However, as I will explain in more detail later, the 'scene' and prices can put people off. Pros: - Good tasting food, made with decent ingredients. - Good drink selection on tap and off tap. - Located in a good location next too a fair few bars. - Good atmosphere in the dining area Cons: - Food, for what it is, is expensive. Granted it tasted lovely however, £10 for a single patty(ed) burger with no additional side is disappointing. And as many people have also said cheaper can be found for similar quality. - Although I liked the atmosphere and decor, it is dark with lighting at the entrance I have only seen at laser quest arenas. - for a restaurant I would say it was quite small, cramped even. Overall: 6/10 'I'd probably go back if I was going out with a large group as a Christmas 'do' - however, not regularly. Conclusion; Although the prices are high and the food didnt agree with me (No need to expand) I would suggest people give the restaurant a try. I'm fair with how I rate establishments and I feel to give this a fair review I need to visit it in 6 months time to which I will update this review. Again, this is a very marmite restaurant, it's a 'hippy' trendy bar in which people may not like. However this does not take away from the service in which they like most establishments do as a given.

The restaurant itself is quite 'different'. Very dark with Japanese motifs about the place. More like a nightclub than a restaurant so perhaps a better bet for an evening meal rather than during the day.

The burgers for meat eaters are brilliant, great flavours and very generous portions. The vegetarian options are pretty poor. There is one vegetarian burger that's quite ridiculously named 'hard to please' coinciding it's just a falafel burger. As much as I enjoyed my food it's disappointing I can't go back with my veggie wife or friends due to really limited options. Also, a side salad wouldn't go amiss. That said if you like burgers and love meat, this is the place to go.

Food was absolutely amazing, everything was 10/10 that we ordered. I will say - I thought the service was a little slow it took a while for them to come over for our drink orders and by the time they did we had already decided what we wanted, then it took a good 10-15 minutes for the drinks to be brought over and our second drinks order was wrong...There seemed to be plenty of staff but no organisation. However, the quality of the food is just unreal, my second time visiting and it's never disappointed.

The place had been refurbished since our last visit, very Japanese swank, the philly and the Hong Kong fooey were simply amazing as were the cocktails. Attentive staff though they firstly brought us somebody else's food which my boy benefitted from having a French fri away, they also got our order wrong, asked for plain fries yet we were presented with the mixed fries (plain and sweet potato) smothered in cheese.... regardless the food was amazing, the patties were right up there with the Beefy Boys in Hereford. What followed was a sugary heaven, donuts filled with the most delightful ice cream! We completely over ate. Well worth a visit.

Not like anything else in Worcester but in a good way. went on a Thursday and yes most of the clientele were younger but who cares, they gotta eat too! the whole place is about dressing how you want, being who you want....... so just be you. Went with my wife for her birthday (both in our 40's) and the staff were amazing, gave her a free cocktail of choice. thank you guys! Food was amazing and i had only one slight criticism, the shaloin fries were just a tad too salty. other than that 1 of the best burgers I've ever had (piggie smalls). Wife loved here's too. Love the vibe and the atmosphere, laid back effortless cool. After the food we were given the coin to the secret bar! Wow even us oldies must be cool! (but that's a secret so hush hush). Before the secret bar we went to the rooftop terrace, very clean, very cool and great place to hang out and sample the great cocktails. Sides are priced fairly, can't comment on the fries as didn't order them. Non alcoholic drinks were expensive based on pricing from menu. For a quiet visit the staffing was basic with little interest in creating an atmosphere. Decor was really cool, very trendy. Having directions for exiting is useful instead of a bar across the entrance and expecting people to know where they're going, rather embarrassing standing around looking lost. Wham Bam Tasty Burgers. Exotic burger combos and dirty flirty fries. Grab yourself some killer sides and prepare yourself for a feast. Highly recommend as not just a meal but a experience. We came from Birmingham to try this place and weren't disappointed. When we arrived it was fairly busy and we were told we had an hour wait but I didn't mind as I was visiting a friend and it gave us more time to chit chat and have a few drinks before our meal, this being said the wait was probably only half an hour and they were very accommodating as we had a buggy with us. A lot of people have moaned about the waiting time but as it's a small place that can't be helped and they do have a booking system (which we should've used but didn't as we're mongs that didn't think it would be that busy on a Sunday). The cocktails were amazing, I absolutely love fruity cocktails where you can't really taste the alcohol because it was like getting tipsy on squash. I especially recommend the oriental express and Leonardo dacaprisun. (Be wary when trying the dragon milk cocktail, it tastes like when you dunk a coconut cream biscuit into milk if that makes sense, wasn't really a fan of that one but it wasn't the worst thing I've tasted in my lifetime). In addition to this, the food was lovely and deffo value for money. The meat as a bit meh but all the condiments and additions to the burgers made them flavourful and lush- it was so hard picking a burger as they all look amazing. I'll definitely be returning to try the other items and make my way through the menu. Furthermore, the staff were amazing, they didn't keep checking on us every few seconds which I appreciated as I hate being asked how everything is while I've got a mouthful of food. They also gave us enough time to decide what we wanted and asked us if we wanted refills as soon as they saw we finished our drinks. We also weren't pressured to pay the bill and leave like most staff in other restaurants do. The atmosphere was also amazing, I loved the playlist and even the old couple in front of us were bopping to J Cole. Overall it was an amazing experience, the only way I think they could improve is by getting more comfortable chairs and also introducing desserts to the menu.

We visit Worcester a lot and had heard about Hanbao from friends who live in the area. Supposedly it's quite a hipster place, but fantastic burgers with lots of interesting toppings. The four of us decided to try our luck at popping in for an early dinner on a Friday afternoon without booking (around 5pm). We were seated straight away by friendly and relaxed staff. Looking at the menus online beforehand had certainly made us hungry in anticipation, and to be fair the food did not disappoint. Between us we ordered a Philly Cheese burger, Piggie Smalls, Odd Future, and Mac Daddy Kane. I had the latter and it was absolutely delicious, and the rest of our group all loved their burgers too, including the one with an iced doughnut instead of a bun. We also shared some BBC fries (regular and sweet potato fries with baconnaise, bacon bits, and cheese), and Shaolin fries, which were also great (oh my word, the pork bites!). The portions were generous but not too oversized though, and we left feeling more than satisfied, without that bloated, slightly nauseous feeling when you resent the food you've just eaten. Presentation for all the food was quirky and fun, but using the bamboo steaming boxes as plates meant that we didn't get food all over the tables and ourselves in the process of demolishing our meals! The service was very friendly and efficient, with no issues at all, and the food came very quickly after ordering. It might have been a longer wait if we'd gone at a busier time but the staff seemed like they would have coped regardless. The only slight negative is the hard metal chairs are not very comfortable, so if we'd been there for a couple of hours that might have been a bit unpleasant. All in all though we had a really delicious meal, for decent prices, with good service and a quick turn around (which suited us well as we didn't want to be leaving Worcester and driving home too late). We'll definitely go again I'm sure. Thanks to all the staff for a really lovely meal out.

This. Was. EPIC!! Hands down one of the best sides I've ever eaten. And the cost for quality is really good! You can make this place as budget friendly or as extravagant as you want... Definitely ideal for any budget. Our visit was just pure joy and delicious-ness. My only criticism is that I felt like the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner and neater. I don't think the black in the bathroom really helps to be honest.. but that's just me (I have a thing about nice loos).

Best. Burgers. Ever. Let me elaborate. I'm currently working my way through the menu by having a different burger each time, presently half way through and haven't found one I haven't liked. The combination of flavours and textures is interesting but they work well. From the perspective of the sides, the regular and bbc fries are very good, as is the belly pork. The selection of drinks is very good, however I tend to prefer a pint of some sort (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) with a burger but I hear the cocktails are impressive. The staff are friendly and service is very quick while the overall atmosphere is unique and really sets Hanbao apart from the chains of gourmet burger restaurants. There have been one or two occasions where I have turned up and been told there will be a wait, however it has never as long a wait as initially advised. That said, there are some things worth waiting for, Hanbao is definitely one of them.

Quite simply... The a magnificent burger! OK, so the place is so new I could not even write a TripAdvisor review because it isn't registered yet, but as a frequent burger reviewer I will tell you this burger gets full marks. We walked in to the very industrial modern cocktail bar and I to the restaurant past a vast choice of hip hop influenced cocktails - my favourite being the Death Row - a £12 concoction of brandy and whiskey I believe. #Expensive. We then walked past the 3 metre graffiti style wall art which is also a clock (I think), past the black steel chairs, another wall size HANBAO light logo and into our booth - admiring the laser themed blackout decoration. I am still setting the scene - then I went the loo and saw the plumbing work of heaven on the sink work which was impressive to say the least, before noticing the menu graffiti etched onto the wall in a mass of detail. Brown on black, it's a good job I had my contacts in, but it works great. I ordered the Mac Daddy Kane which wet my appetite with the double patties, cheese, bacon, crispy fried onions (not grilled onions as advertised which made the burger even better!) Mac and cheese, marinara sauce, spicy ketchup and Mac fried balls. I also ordered the hot hot wings and BBC fries. With a coke. The coke was freezing which as a critic - I like! The fries were out of this world with the melted cheese, sprinkled bacon, baconaise sauce and mixed fries. What I also liked is how the waiter asked us if we'd like to separate some of the fries for our 16 month old little boy as the dressing had paprika on! Great service. Whenever I go anywhere I sample the chicken wings as I feel it determines how much detail the chefs put into their 'whole' menu. Especially at niche restaurants that specialise in burgers for example. The wings were crispy and succulent. The sauce was unique and tangy and scattered in chillies. But I personally thought it could have been a whole lot hotter. But that's just my preference. Now to the burger. I nearly had the Phillie Smalls hoping it would have been Juicy... excuse the pun. I initially feared the double sauce would be confusing and the burger itself oily because of the overload of cheese and patty. It stood firm. The burger was solid. It wasn't too greasy and it didn't fall apart. The buns were perfectly toasted and the patties, softer than any burger I've had. I can't emphasise the difficulty in getting a patty that is soft but not greasy and still has the dexterity and taste of a top burger. For technicality. It's the best I've had. No gristle. Perfectly cooked. The cheese and onions held up great and the flavours all came through. It's preference, but I don't like a burger that falls apart and is American style pumped with fat. If I had a criticism, it's that the cheese wasn't mature enough for my liking. But the cheese ball on top was amazing. The pricing was great. We had 3 meals for £35. Its about £9.50 for the burger i had but they range between that and £7, while the fries are a couple of quid. Really affordable means it is a great option for the working man on a late lunch or dinner option. Service was great off the waiter. The waitress said they didn't do squash, but they did do blackcurrant cordial.......... Anyway, the chips heads up more than made up for that. Quite simply. For the food. You have to come and try this burger! It's the best in the city and on preference, it scores higher than the rest in neighbouring counties. Aesthetically, the restaurant looks magnificent and I can not wait to visit the cocktail bar on a quaint Saturday evening where I think I will be necking many a Death Row! 5/5.

Had an enormous vegan burger here. Not too much choice for veggies and vegans but there are a couple of options. Meat eaters would be spoiled for choice. This is true decadence. Gloves are offered so you can use your hands to try and fit the overstuffed burgers into your mouth, probably unsuccessfully. It's a messy kind of meal! Great fun, super cool decor, and I left with a very happy food baby.

MUST visit! The restaurant is incredibly larger than it seems from the outside, and has a very modern, hipster feel. Music in the evening is quite loud so maybe not best for that first date, but class beginning to a night out with friends or colleagues. Bar serves some quirky cocktails with fluorescent straws! Don't get me started on the burgers... Can't remember what mine was called, but the top part of the bun was upside down, and coated in sugar and sprinkles, doughnut style! A once-every-now-and-again treat, that would lose its novelty value is you went too often. The food is deliberately overblown, calorific and gimmicky, but nonetheless tasty. The PBJ burger in particular surprised me with unusual and effective addition of five spice. The teriaki belly pork is great and a very indulgent side, that might otherwise make a perfectly good meal. Any grumbles are about what they don't do: I'd expect a place this trendy too have better choices of beer, especially given the fast-food nature of the menu.

Was a bit disappointing to be honest, although issues were resolved quickly the number of issues that occurred shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. Firstly was put next to two speakers and couldn't hear each other, we asked to move into the main part of the restaurant as I saw a space, was told there wasnt space but the music was turned down slightly. Asked server about beer, which sadly didn't know anything about what was on offer so ended up with one from off the menu that cost 6.50 for half a pint, and was nothing special. Food arrived and my burger was completely wrong, was told 20 minutes to fix up a new one, when I said I wanted to leave within 30 seconds one magically appeared, makes me wonder if I had someone else's as theres no way one was cooked in that time. Sadly to be honest the food was just average, my burger was meant to be a donut bun, it was more like a bagel dipped in sprinkles... all in all sadly average... however the place has potential, just great ideas poorly executed. Oh and change the chairs, they're made out of some for of metal that feels like your sitting on an iron fence, 0 comfort.

Went to Hanbao with my partner for an early valentines meal and wow. . . . . As soon as you walk in you are met with a futuristic corridor (if you go you will understand what i mean), the restaurant area was clean and the whole place had a nice vibe about it and the staff were polite and attentive. Now the food. . . . Wow. . . . . Between us we had the ODB burger and the Royale with cheese, the mixed fries and the BCC fries and the fried mac and cheese balls. . . . . . The only reason we left any food was because we were too full. The food was cooked perfectly. We will deffinately be returning even though it is approximately 45miles away. The only issue we had was parking as we are not from the area, in the end i had to drop my partner off outside the restraunt and then i had to drive to a car park, i parked at i think it was called the cattle market. But apart from that an amazing experience. Thank you Hanbao.

Literally I travel 25 miles from Gloucester every week to eat here. Oversized and generous portions (which are absolutely unreal), beer which tastes amazing, unique menu which is unrivalled! There venue isn’t the biggest so aim to get there an hour before you want to eat to experience the cocktails and drinks! Vibe is dimly lit with loud music, ideal for 16-30 year olds I would say - definitely not for the ‘average’ pensioner! 100% recommend this, your taste buds will thank you! Also, the staff are so kind and polite (something missing from today’s restaurant chains) Thank you Hanbao!

Very trendly. Which means popular. No booking but they'll hold a table for you. Serve Red Stripe in cans which screams hipster or my drink of choice in 1999. (Which makes me ultra hipster or old.) Excellent hip hop pun names for the burgers: I had the 'Piggie Smalls'. Burger was tasty but, to go old skool, don't believe the hype. Well, kinda believe it but don't think you'll eat the best burger in the world...second best in Worcester.

Been a few times to Hanbao now, enough to conclude it's average. Food is expensive for what it is but nice enough. Burgers are often overcomplicated to make up for the fact the actual patties aren't that interesting or brilliant quality. Sides are expensive and drinks laughably so. Staff are OK but mainly can't be bothered. There are other, better, places to go for a burger in Worcester. Hanbao has very little to recommend it.
