Incredible restaurant, food and staff!!! Seriously delicious food, I was the most impressed with the tzaziki and baklava, best ones I have ever eaten! They give you free olives and bread when you first come in and end you with glass of port style wine, also gratis. Prices are very good, staff are lovely and authentic, decor is stunning and the music is fun and puts you in the right mood. I had three starters instead of the main so that I get to try lots of things and it was not a problem at all. Also let us book on the day, very accommodating! Will definitely be back to try more things! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!

My friends booked this place as they love to come here for dinner and now I understand why. It's a lovely Greek restaurant, decorated to remind you of Greece. The host, a gentleman, was lovely and very funny. The food was amazing, from starters to the mains to the Greek coffee. Lovely. Music good as well. Absolutely loved it.

A brilliant Greek restaurant. I am sure it is family run. The passion of the man and his daughter who were working the night that I went was amazing. I will return and what a great advert for visiting Greece if this is the level of service and quality of food that you get. I ordered the Fillet of sea bass but unfortunately they had none. Both the man and his daughter were both so very apologetic. When I was informed of this I changed to a vegetarian dish, Briam i think that it was.... The man offered to fillet another of the fish on the menu that would have been served whole for me. I declined he insisted it was no trouble and would be happy to do but I still declined. This was a really impressive level of service. They provided free olives water and bread. Wow awesome. Also the Briam was delightful for sure. We were offered extra bread as well as a lovely after dinner Greek drink I highly recommend Island for the quality of the food and the service that is truly exceptional.

Unbelievable! Honestly can’t praise this restaurant highly enough. The whole experience, the greeting, the staff, the service was 10/10 but the then the food started arriving that’s where the game changed! Traditional homemade Greek cuisine.. The service was excellent, staff are so lovely, real traditional Greek hospitality & the atmosphere on a Saturday night made it a great evening. We started with a bunch of appetisers to share : Saganaki - perfect, not greasy, just the right amount of squeakiness Courgette fritters - lovely light batter, nice & crunchy Meatballs - heavenly! So light & fluffy, almost like a mousse Spanakopita- my go to in Greece, wasn’t disappointed Tzatziki - just as it should be For main I had Kleftiko - lamb just melted in my mouth, a must have. My friends had Stifado - tender beef in a rich sauce, and pork gyros - lovely juicy & well seasoned We booked weeks in advance for a Saturday so do plan ahead to not be disappointed. Island is better than some Greek tavernas I’ve been too & is well deserved to be called the best place to eat in Worcester

The best. We’ve eaten in restaurants all around, from Brisbane to New York but our favourite restaurant in the entire world is on a corner in little old Worcester called Island. The owner and staff make you feel part of the family, outstanding service by outstanding people, great the daughter has joined the team However nothing is more outstanding than the delightful food, it’s so hard to choose what to have from the starters, yesterday we had the lovely saganaki grilled cheese, the Greek sausage which was fab but ultimately the best thing they do in my opinion is the kleftiko, it is truly my favourite dish in the entire world. Do yourself a favour and give this place a try

What an absolutely fantastic find! We've been lucky enough to try lots of Greek restaurants in the UK and I can honestly say this one is the best we've been to. It was busy but not overly so (Saturday night), the service from the owner and his lovely daughter was fantastic! We had excellent service, excellent wine and ouzo, and even better food! If you want authentic Greek food, like you were in Greece... look no further, it really was excellent! Thanks for a lovely evening. 5*+

Our first time visiting and it was brilliant! It was a surprise dinner for my partners birthday and it literally felt like we were back on our holiday in Greece! The food was delicious - every course tasty and well portioned but more than the food, the service was fantastic! Attentive without being intruding, friendly and efficient. What a wonderful evening we had! We had booked a table for the Wednesday night and are glad we did, it was packed! Which shows just how wonderful this place is! Superb food and Friendly staff. They gave olives and bread at the beginning. Olives were brilliant and the bread, wow :) We had Calamari which was well cooked and warm, Aubergine meze which was delicious, and lamb which was also amazing. Having recently visited Rhodes for the first time and falling in love with Greek cuisine we decided to give Island ago. One word I’ll use is “wow” Firstly service, I presume the owner is simply fantastic, it’s his pleasure to make you happy, he did and so did the other lady, instantly make you feel one of the family. He was extremely concerned that myself and my wife didn’t finish our meals, don’t pay if you’re not happy he said (you don’t get that often) the truth was we’d eaten far to much of the starters! He kindly wrapped up the left overs for takeaway and they are warming in the oven as I type. They didn’t have talagani cheese(the best) but as an alternative they had kefalotiri fried cheese, simply delicious I urge you to try it. Mains we had stifado and kleftiko, the wife’s stifado was delightful, but the kleftiko was simply one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten, absolutely mouthwatering. I actually can’t remember if we had dessert, I drank far to much Greek beer and wine, absolute must visit 👍👏👏

We just returned from a wonderful evening at Island to celebrate my birthday. The food is amazing, authentic and well presented. Following recipes handed down for generations and it showed in every mouthful...perfection! The owners are so welcoming and friendly, making their guests feel special and looked after. Nothing was too much trouble, perfect hosts in every way. A wonderful, relaxed atmosphere and you were not made to feel rushed. You could relax and enjoy your meal.It may have been our first visit, but will not be the last. If you have not been there yet, don't hesitate, if you are visiting Worcester do not miss out out. A special place. One of the best restaurant meals I've had in years and impeccable service. Great value. Delicious salt crusted sea bream and roast vegetables in a tomato sauce. Our New favourite restaurant! We visited Worcester from Malvern just to try out this excellent highly- reviewed restaurant. It did not disappoint! The food is absolutely outstanding, wonderful quality, truly the most authentic taste of Greece we've experienced outside of the Greek Islands. Portions are generous, we chose three seafood dishes, one being the Greek sea bream and it was all exceptional & tasted fresh. All three courses were delicious with so many tempting options on the menu it was hard to choose! For the quality of food & amount- the prices are quite reasonable we thought it was brilliant value for money. The staff were very warm, friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed chatting to them. Atmosphere is lovely and traditional like being transported to a tavern in Greece. We will be coming back very soon.

What a gem of a find! We went yesterday as a party of 4 for my husband’s birthday / retirement. Alexandros was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble. He spent time talking to every table but was not intrusive. And the food? Fantastic authentic Greek dishes, cooked and served to perfection. The tzatziki was sublime and the kleftiko was exquisite. Definitely on ‘Greek time’ when you go to Island, there is no rushing through courses, just time to sit, talk, savour the food and enjoy your time there. We will definitely be returning.

My partner and I were staying in Worcester fir few days and ate here one evening,, the service and food were wonderful. I choose the sea bream which came whole, I asked if the head could be taken off , the gentleman who ran the restaurant with his daughter said he would ask the chef to fillet the fish, he went far above what was expected. The fish was very very tasty although I struggled to finish it after having a starter of calamari which was best I had ever tasted. We ate here tonight and really enjoyed our meal. The service was great, not at all hurried, a very relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed complementary olives and pitta as we looked at the menu, we chose taramasalata and calamari for starters which were delicious and kebab platter and chicken souvlaki for mains, again delicious and freshly cooked. Our host came with a lovely Greek yoghurt and nuts after our meal, a complimentary dish. We will definitely be back, it was a lovely meal, thank you!

Do not confuse Island with the last Greek eatery at this location. This place is excellent. I wouldn't say it has full restaurant status but think of it as a kind of cafe-bar taverna and you'll love it. We had a mixed starter cold platter and the hot grilled feta and peppers which set the mood. This was quickly followed by a shared starter for 2, a Kleftiko and a kebab platter. Delicious. Service is excellent but not too much and we came away feeling slightly spoilt and very satisfied. Will certainly be back.

I love to go to Greece as often as possible but due to the lockdown it has not been possible this year. I have been here a number of times for takeouts and to eat in since it opened and the food has always been AMAZING. I always have extra tzatiki as they order it in from Greece (the yogurt here is just not the same!). the rest of the menu has as much attention to detail to. Alex the owner is so attentive and makes me feel like I am on holiday in Greece. As soon as my glass is empty he makes sure to ask if I would like anything else and is always easy to chat to. Islands is becoming a firm favourite of ours, I brought my family here today and we will be returning often as they loved it just as much as me and my partner do.

I got very excited when I heard we had a Greek restaurant opening in Worcester. I was eager to visit and was not disappointed. Everything that came to our table was delicious. We ordered a variety of starters, mains and puddings (also sampling the coffee at the end) so we have a pretty good idea of the consistent quality of all the food. The olive oil, the souvlaki, it all tasted as if it were straight from a Greek kitchen. Even just the hummus and pita had us reminiscing about past holidays. I can heartily recommend the stifado (slow cooked beef in a rich sauce), for when the weather is cold and you need something warm and filling. The staff are incredibly friendly, and I believe it is a family run establishment, which leant it a comfortable, homely atmosphere. From the bottom of my heart, I hope this place does well, because I would like the chance to try the other dishes on the menu.

Wow. Seriously fabulous food, a succession of subtle and delicate tastes that were a match for both a posh Athens restaurant and a funky Volos taverna. Lovely atmosphere, service attentive but unobtrusive, delicious house red, good coffee, excellent tsipouro, yummy dessert whose name I was enjoying myself too much to register. For this I'd expect to pay well over the odds - in fact the bill was very reasonable indeed. Move over Thai Gallery, Ostlers and Olive Branch, I have a new favourite restaurant. What a delight!

I have been visiting the Greek islands with my wife for the past 27 years and to my surprise while driving in Worcester the other day I noticed that Santorini blue colour and the name 'Island'. On the very day I told my wife that we needed to go try out the new Greek place. The welcoming of the owner himself made us feel as if we were back in Greece. We sat down and were almost immediately served pita bread and olives on the house as a welcome dish. We started off with some fried calamari and prawn saganaki, the calamari was perfectly fried and tender and the saganaki was out of this world. As a main course, my wife and I tried the mousaka as it was our favourite dish whenever we visited Greece- the best mousaka we've ever had in the past 27 years was believe it or not, served to us in this very restaurant. For pudding we had a Greek yogurt-orange cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, followed by two shots of tsipouro (on the house), a perfect ending to our meal. Thank you Alex (owner) for the great hospitality, we will be back soon!!

First time we tried here, and sinse we both lived in Crete for 20 years, we were delighted with the standard of food and Alex's wonderful filoxenia. You should try this fab little place, it was like being back in the village in Crete.

Feel gutted that we discovered Island so late (ate here last night, 10th July 2020), but as Alex said, better late than never! Was fantastic, service, food, portions, everything. As has been mentioned previously,very traditional, all that's missing is the ocean... Although the Severn is only a couple of hundred yards away! Worcester has been crying out for a Lovely Greek restaurant, so we will be spreading the word to make sure Island remains! It's only just reopened after the Covid Crisis but is very safe, organised and clean, so please don't be put off and book yourselves up..... 10/10....🇬🇷
