Firstly the service from Phillip was top level, attentive and kind, top guy and got the orders spot on. The burgers themselves are amazing, I've had them from loads of burger places before, and these are the best. We got the Smokey and the B-Rex with sweet potato fries and bacon cheese fries, spot on, flavours were amazing. The venue itself was clean, warm and looked pretty smart. Would definitely go back the next time I travel from Manchester.

Lovely place for dinner. The staff are s very nice and friendly, portions are decent. If you’re not super hungry, I recommend the Mac and cheese starter. The lemon tart is delicious too! Try to spot all the little cows hiding on the vents

It was our first visit and really enjoyed ourselves. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The burgers are massive and very tasty. The sweet potato fries and normal fries and divine. Also my wife really enjoyed the vegan burger and she said it was the best one she has ever had. We also ordered the slaw but was surprised as it was made with red cabbage and dill with seeds. It really wasn't to our tasting and would have preferred traditional coleslaw with mayo. Other than that definitely will be making a second visit soon.

Excellent customer service from a gentleman who served me and my partner. Really nice guy who conversed with us and asked about our day. Gave us ideas of where to visit around York. Brilliant food! Probably the best burger I've had for a very very long time! Recommend getting the B-Rex burger. Its to die for!

Really enjoy Byrons, this is our third visit. The first two times the guys were really fast and attentive, and the food was great. The third time the surplus of girls serving were quite slow, more interested in chatting than serving food I think... The food was flawless again though, well done guys!

Really lovely. Small selection however thete doesn't need to be any larger choice. Everything tastes and smells fresh. Customer service is excellent. Can smell how clean it is. Furniture is a little worn down only reason 4 star otherwise very lovely and great quality.

Very impressed with the quality flavours of the chicken burgers (classic and crex), fried perfectly seasoned, Oreo milkshake out of this world and they even threw in a free brownie. Thanks Byron team for a great dinner!

Went in mind afternoon and waited about 5 mins to be sat. There were loads of tables empty in the back but with staff numbers it was fine and not long until seated. We were served by a great team member who looked after us well and was very hospitable. He even honoured a discount scheme which may not longer be in play so went above and beyond to my mind. We ordered various burgers: classic, clucky and b-rex which were all good as were the seasoned fries. Chicken strips were really good too- the crispy ones anyway. All in all, we ate every lick and would certainly recommend Byron York to anyone looking for a quality burger and a great service. Cheers.

Turned up on a Sunday eveningb and got straight in. The starter was quite nice and the burgers were amazing. The service was good and the waiter very polite. There was though quite alot of the menu not available as things had sold out, we couldn't even have a desert. They do accept the taste card though which meant we got 241 on starters and mains. Quite possibly the best burger I've had but just the lack of menu items that let it down.

We visited on a Saturday evening. No queue, seated immediately, which was great! We were served very quickly, drinks, then starters and then mains. The kitchen kindly obliged our request to 'veganise' the nachos - regular dairy cheese replaced with vegan cheese & no sour cream. We both ordered the Cali burger which comes with seasons skin-on fries - absolutely delicious! Covid measures that were in place: -Sanitiser at the door -tables well distanced / spaced out -Menu viewing is on customer's own mobile/device via QR code to limit handling - '1 out, 1 in' sign for loos to discourage crowding We would recommend!

We ordered via deliveroo. The order was 3 x Byron burgers with chips. An hour and five minutes later, one burger and chips arrived. The other two burgers and chips arrived 40 minutes later only after raising a complaint via deliveroo. The chips were decent but cold. The burger was excellent. Shame they mucked up the order. I guess it's deliveroo's fault the chips were cold, but none-the-less it didn't help with overall satisfaction. If all the food had arrived in one go, and was hot, then this would have been a 5/5. My son reckoned the burger was the best he'd ever tasted.

What a fantastic restaurant; the decor is pretty hipster, and the food is fresh and unique. I had a vegan burger and a few soft drinks with my partner; it was a hectic Saturday evening, but the service was still reasonable. I think the pricing is about right for the location and food. We enjoyed our meals at Byron York and the guys who served us were very kind looking after us and our baby. The only issue we had was the 10% discretionary service charge that was added to our bill. We are normally happy to give a tip but we didn't like it being put on the bill and made us feel guilty to pay it.

Passing by so popped in for a bite to eat. Was quiet so seated straight away. Ordered some soft drinks which came within minutes but the glass had clearly just come out of the washer as it was warm to touch. Opted to drink straight from the bottle but both drinks were warm and flat. Food was ordered and waiting time was minimal. Ordered one cheeseburger & one double cheeseburger which were very tasty & cooked to perfection. Only other issue we had was when paying the bill a 10% tip is automatically added without notification or consent. Some notification would be great as we always leave a tip for good service but to take it without telling you is a bit naughty.

Bottomless fries ;) and they are good fries. The staff in our experience (been two times) go above and beyond. You can get the burger or chicken sandwich skinny meaning no bun and they send salad instead of fries. Variety of burgers and sandwiches, drinks and fries. Great bathrooms. If you want to know what a real burger taste like then this is the place. Good selection of different styles of burger, you get to choice how you want it done, just like if you were ordering steak. Great selection of sides, the Buffalo Chicken wings being a highlight. And if you like either people watching or appreciate industrial interior design then there's two more bonuses for visiting Byron.

Great service with delicious food. We went here while partaking in Veganuary as they had a selection of vegan choices. I'd definitely recommend it as the burgers were top quality and not obviously vegan. The staff understood our choices and helped recommend what was available on the menu to suit a dietary needs and even suggest their favourite. They we're out of stock on certain items (only reason I've removed a star) but they did there best to compensate. I look forward to visiting again to explore more of their menu.

Better burgers than both GBK and 5Guys, this restaurant is a great choice and is in a very central location. The fries are not great however, I eat here often and you basically get a beaker full of shrapnel instead of fries that are long enough to dip. I don't know why they can't seem to create long fries here but they are consistently bitty. So I've docked a star for this. Service is always good. I'd recommend the milkshakes (especially Strawberry which is like drinking a pot of Haagen Das). The chicken burgers are also very well done.

Let me tell you, have I got a story for you. Once upon a time I visited a mystical land, I believe said land was named Byron High Ousegate. Within this land I managed to procure not one but two salted caramel milkshakes and let me tell you, what I experienced within those milkshakes was possibly the greatest experience I have ever had, second only to spending time with my beloved boy named Vincent. However, what I did experience within that finely crafted metal milkshake home was truly a masterpeice, the fresh salted caramel pieces mixed with the not one, nor two or three but four spoonful's of Byron's own specially made secret recipe ice cream, let me tell you people BELIEVE ME, it was gargantuan. I don't know if I slept that right but that's how I feel, I feel like I was truly blessed, I felt like God himself had reached down from the heavens to stroke his divine finger along my tongue. I haven't felt that way (outside of my time with Vincent) in my entire life. I consider myself to be a dairy and ice cream fanatic and I have never had a milkshake so good. Is the food good? No idea. I had a salad and we all know that's not real food (sorry vegans). HOWEVER. That f*#@+-g milkshake was worth every single penny I spent and let me tell you something else, it was cheap. A mere 4.75 for the nextar of the God's. WHAT IS GOING ON?! I have no idea but all I know is you better get down there and try one for yourself, they're massive. MASSIVE. I had two of them and I thought my stomach was going to turn into the udder of a cow. It was everything I needed and more. My existence if finally satiated. Now I know my true calling in life is to earn money purely to purchase more of these God send creations. Thank you from the bottom of my stomach, sincerely Conor Louis. Ps.
