This Harvester branch looks glamorous on one side but old and untidy to the other side.We arrived around 7pm and already nothing much to choose from the menu as the chef’s stopped cooking some of meals.A bit disappointing as we have to order what was left to be ordered. Staff were nice but confused with orders, they mixed up plates and they weren’t sure what is available to order from the menu. It will be more nicer and practical if they are more organised and tidy.

We hadn't tried breakfast here before and our grand daughter who is 17 wanted pancakes so we opted for the harvester. Unfortunately they had run out of pancakes but she got the waffle, hubby opted for unlimited breakfast and I had bacon and egg muffin, everything was cooked to perfection it was delicious. The young lady who served us was brilliant very polite and had a lovely smile and the other staff on duty also seemed happy which is a big bonus these days. Well done to all for the lovely food and great service. The restaurant was very clean as I notice these things so well done for that too. We'll be back.

After a bad experience at this harvester some years ago I was reluctant to try again but I can safely say that my previous experience was a one off. For the salad your waiter goes with you to the salad bar and she picks up what you want (this stops everyone touching all the handles so very COVID safe.) This bar was a nice starter, the bread was the nicest thing on this. I ordered the beef sandwich which was super delicious, I asked for it medium rare which wasn’t far off, it was closer to medium. The beef dripping that came with the sandwich was incredible and full of flavour. My girlfriend ordered the halloumi skewers, she said they were lacklustre, if you don’t like the peppers that come with this you’ve basically got a plate of halloumi. Overall a pleasant experience, the staff were friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely return to this store.

Reasonable. Service was excellent up to the point of the bill. Having left a 12% tip, the server walked off leaving the machine and not saying 'thank you', which was disappointing. Unfortunately no way to reverse the tip. All the food was excellent other than the 83 combo chicken which was dry, (but edible).

We came in last night for dinner. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table which was set up with our menus / salad bowls. We travel a lot and always choose a harvester as we know we’re gonna get good food / service. This by far has been our best harvester experience for a long time. Being served by smiling staff that genuinely look as if they wanna be there was lovely. Food was hot and delicious . Greeted by a friendly face who was very helpful with how to access Gluten Free choices. All done through an app. Fast and efficient service with a smile. The manager was friendly and talkative. The food was tasty and would go back to try more of the menu.

The food that came out was really tasty and the guy who attended our table was really polite. However, there was lots of things on the menu that were unavailable and the salad bar was very poorly stocked when we arrived and did not seem to be replenished while we were there. Also, although the mains were incredibly quick to come out, the puddings took ages to arrive and the new bottle of ketchup we requested never arrived.

Just left here , completely stuffed . 3 adult meals plus deserts and drinks £80 Ish , great value . Food was really really 👍 great. Well my food and wifes was fab. I had half a chicken, half rack of ribs, thick cut chips and small salad garnish. Wife had the steak, 2 eggs and potatoe & spinach hash. daughter had beef quasidilla. Oddly enough, the hash was like a couple hundred sauteed little cubes. The quasidilla was not crispy but just a tortilla heated through so was a bit sticky.rather than crispy. 2 of our meals arrived and after 5 minutes wife had to ask for her meal. The salad bar is not massive but unlimited as is the soft drinks. There is a nice selection of sauces available. They didn't have many ales but a selection of ciders and laget. I noticed a toilet was messy and had no toilet paper so I told a waitress. Later the toilet roll was sorted but not the messy Pan. Overall, good food and prices. A bit of attention to detail required.

Good value for money. But no consistency in the corn cooking. Sometimes crunchy and sometimes just too cooked! Gravy can also be a hit and miss as it has been very watery last time. Friendly staff, really helpful and can accommodate to various non spicy request to get just a chicken breast, point out best deals, offer water for the dog when sitting outside.

Compared to the Greene King pubs locally there is no comparison in quality and service . Harvester is head and shoulders above.

First time we’ve had an evening meal here and it was fantastic. All staff were lovey, but our main server Natalia really stood out. She was so friendly and approachable, and was very knowledgeable about products being sold, what items were unavailable, etc. Big shout out to the chef Alex too, as our food was great - especially my vegan chicken stack, the best I’ve ever had! Great value for price too. Will definitely be coming again!

Top service and really good grub! I have my steak rare but it is a rarity (if you excuse the pun) that it ever comes out that way. Not here. Absolutely perfect. The whole meal was better than good and we were well looked after throughout by a happy, smiling team. Good menu size with plenty of choices. Kids/family friendly but equally good for couples and single people. The property was also clean and tidy. All I all a very enjoyable meal in nice surroundings and would recommend.

Entered this place on a sunny evening , the dining room was well lit with natural light, it was very clean everywhere, the staff were very helpful and pleasant and smartly dressed. Seating arrangements were good and well spaced throughout, they have a excellent bar with a good choice of drinks, but draught drinks are limited. It offered a excellent food menu at reasonable prices , our choices were the mixed grill which was excellent, and my partner had the salmon which was commented on being very good and tasty, we were offered a free small salad bowel from the salad bar before our main meal which was really tasty and a nice surprise. A sweet menus was offered and well received followed by good coffee. We really enjoyed our experience at this Clifton Moor establishment and will visit again. The rest rooms are clean and well lit, ample car parking on site. Recommended

Brunch: when we arrived, friendly welcome. we were explained the procedures in place due to covid. Our waiter Zac, great service, friendly, food communication. The Chef Daniel was accommodating in changing our dish, replacing the waffles for pancakes. The dish was delicious southern fried chicken, bacon, pancake with maple syrup. Highly recommended you trying this dish. Suggestion: give the dish the option for waffles or pancakes.

Visited for breakfast with my wife and 98 year old step mum. I can honestly say it was delightful. After seeing the outside of the building, that is less than inspiring, the interior was absolutely fine. Breakfast was as good as I have had for a long time, with even the step mum commenting that the sausages were nice. It is a long time since I was served hot freshly cooked toast. It has normally been made a while before and ends up cold when served. 5 stars just for that! The staff were very attentive and when we asked for the music volume to be reduced, they immediately responded and came back to check that it was okay. They also regularly checked if we needed more of the bottomless toast, tea and coffee. Cannot fault the place for breakfast. Well done to you all.

We came here to eat while here on our first visit to York. The lady that served us was lovely and super helpful and out food came quickly. I was impressed as my last trip to a Harvester (Post covid) wasn't great. The portion sizes did not disappoint and neither did the flavour. We left stuffed (in a good way) The toilets were super clean and had a nice layout. All round friendly staff and a nice experience. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

When we arrived we were told bookings only which I guess is a COVID hangover. So we went on the website and made a booking for the exact time it was and that was ok. So a bit of common sense may have been applied. They closed down the self service drinks between when my partner went to get hers and I got mine so had to go to the bar which seemed odd given we were by no means alone in the restaurant. Probably half full. Salad bar was disappointingly half closed and the half that was open was half empty. Also having a member of staff have to pick it for you when it used to be self service is a bit idiotic. Altho probably a COVID hangover again. Food was nice tho as expected. Just maybe the staff were set on closing up a little early and maybe it's time to relax the COVID measures.

I took my 15 year old son and his friend to the York Harvester for breakfast. We all chose the unlimited breakfast where we could select what and how many items we wanted from a generous list. The breakfast also came with unlimited free toast and for 99p extra we could have unlimited tea/coffee. Our server, Lorraine was a lovely lady who was happy and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was efficient at her job and efficient at offering us more toast, coffee/tea. Our breakfast was cooked by Dan and it was perfectly presented and cooked and tasted extremely good. Over all we had a lovely experience in a really welcoming, calm and friendly atmosphere. I can highly recommend the harvester in York for breakfast and we will definitely be visiting again.

Had one of the best breakfasts today at Harvester. The food tasted great and was laid out well on a large plate. The prices are very good for a personally cooked breakfast, especially with 99p unlimited tea or coffee. I Would recommend a visit.

First time visiting this Harvester branch and its nice, modern and clean. Their covid precautions were spot on and we were happy that the salad bar was still open, except the staff do it for you with you telling them what you want. I had the triple combo chicken and the rotisserie chicken just fell apart. My partner has the steak sandwich which was pretty much a steak burger, the steak is just sliced up. The steak was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. Good job chefs Dan & Vlado (sorry that name is wrong). Great server Tilly who was really friendly, helpful and checked on us regularly =)

Visited on a Tuesday evening at 7.15pm. The place was quiet, but found the service to be slow. Looking at the menu, I was impressed by the choice of vegan dishes both for mains and desserts. Unfortunately, my first choices for both were not available. A friend ordered a normal meal which too was not available which was disappointing. Waiting staff were pleasent but as mentioned the service was slow despite t not being really busy. Staff were putting up Christmas decorations around us. When we finally had our dessert order taken, which we had to ask twice before someone came to take it. The waiter brought spoons over and threw them across the table to my friends. By 9pm there was hardly any one left. The music was turned off and staff were tidying up around us while we had hot drinks after our desserts. The quality of the food was only average.

WOW!!! JUST WOW!!!! First timers at harvester.... due to the help out to eat out me my partner and our 2 and a half year old son searched everywhere for a place to eat and I am so glad!!! I rang up to be greeted professionally on the phone 20 mins before closing I explained our situation and the lady on the phone said they would fit us in nice warming environment, staff polite and well mannered nothing was too much trouble for them.even catered to our fussy little one. We visited this Harvester on Weds 4th Aug. My friend is dairy and gluten free so finding something to eat can be difficult. However, when we entered the Harvester restaurant and explained her needs the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Lorraine directed my friend to access the Glass Onion app and said it showed what allergens could be in the dishes and what dishes would be suitable. Nothing was too much trouble and she answered any questions we had. Becca saw to our drinks again answering questions and provided efficient service. The food was excellent, cooked by Vlado and Dan. We came here the day before fathers day as they had an offer on of 3 courses for £15.99. This was available from a small limited menu mainly geared up to meat and very few vegetarian options but what we had tasted good and there was a lot of it. The drinks were expensive but the service from the waitress was excellent. Loos were a bit hit and miss. We booked ahead as it was a Saturday night and fathers day the next day. Even though this was expensive it is nice for a treat and great for families.

We went at about 8pm on Friday night, the place was about half full. We had to wait at the door for about 5 minutes until.someone greeted us and seated us. Staff seemed very friendly. We were disappointed with the free salad, it wasn't offered to us, we had to ask, presuming we paid for it we didn't even know it was free, this should really have been offered but never mind. When we got there, there was barely anything there, a lot of the tubs were empty. The sweetcorn looked like it had been out all day, we were quite disappointed, and glad we hadn't paid for it! Food arrived and that was absolutely perfect, couldn't fault the cooking at all. But halfway through our meal, around 8:45pm, one of the staff started stacking up tables and chairs right behind our table. I remember now why we haven't used harvester foe a while, they did this last time we were there aswell about a year ago. I think it does great food but I recommend going during the day unless you want leftover salad and made to feel rushed as they are cleaning up and stacking tables up.

I had ribs, my girlfriend had a chicken combo both were great for the price. I'd never been to a harvester before and was looking forward to trying the ribs - I'd already made my menu choice before we set off! We went for my birthday before going to the cinema next door. We arrived at 5.30 and, having only the one course, left at 6.45 in plenty of time before the movie. You get unlimited salad and bread rolls with every meal which offers a good selection; again, it was my birthday and I channelled my inner child and got a bowl full of bacon bits, croutons and ranch dressing with a suggestion of grated carrot. Our drinks arrived pretty quickly: a can of Brew Dog ipa for me and a cider. We didn't have to wait too long for our meals either and helping of salad made the wait time seem shorter as well I guess. All in all, the food was good, some of the chicken was a bit overcooked but the ribs were tasty, moist and generous, the chips were chunky, well cooked: they didn't pretend they were hand cut or anything but they were very tasty. The only thing that let the meal down was the corn on the cob which was overcooked and mushy to the point of being inedible. This did not take anything away from the meal however given the price we paid. Earlier in the day, I downloaded the Harvester app which is great. It lets you browse the menus, lets you know if any offers and also allows you to pay for your meal, split the bill if you want and also leave a tip. That day, there was an offer for 50% off mains and brought the total for the meal to £26 including drinks and tip. All in all a really good meal and a big thank you to our server, Aaron. I'd be very happy to go back some time - I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go there but out of the 5 restaurants within 500 metres, I'd choose this one first.

Had to keep asking ie.ordered drinks when arrived and had to ask again for them 10 mins later.....asked for Bill twice.then had to ask to pay...meal was nice though.....we go to the Harvester at least 3 times a month and noticed it is getting a bit sloppy in service.stopped going now .dont like the new manager very rude.I know it's a bore having to tell people what you can and can't do with the Covid19 but talk to you as if your little kids is a bit off.will be going back when shes gone

Harvester in my opinion is becoming the most consistent of easy dining places as their food standard has been very good and the service has been great everytime and at every location we have been to so far, friendly and efficient staff who always look presentable, clean and comfortable environment and usually plenty of parking at most locations which always helps, my experience means I would definitely recommend both this location and Harvester elsewhere!
