First ever experience of the food and me and the wife are blown away. Now our favourite restaurant by far. The service was outstanding, even as close to closing time as we went. The food was stand out and the price was more than great for what we had. Could not of asked for a better place to eat and a better experience to have.

Some of the best food we’ve ever eaten. So flavorful and a combination of spicy and fresh herbs and mint and cilantro and cardamom-all built on layers of flavor. Plus the staff is very friendly and the owner even instructed us on how to eat the multiple elements of the dish, which included papadum and yogurt and chutney on the side. Fabulous!

It is completely unbelievable to me that this place is not featured on any of the 'Top Restaurants' lists that I've seen. Every dish we tried was truly delicious; the flavours were just right in every way. You must try the pork belly and the spicy dumplings (I think they were called momo). The food I was served here is some of the best food I've ever eaten!

Thoroughly enjoyed! Recommend the Gyoza’s in gravy (shouldn’t work but it does!). The set main (with poppadom) is a nice way of trying lots of flavours in a single dish. Less spicy than Indian so ask for more heat if you want to dial it up.

First time trying Nepalese food. As a Singaporean it is a really interesting blend of Chinese and Indian influences. The chicken choila and special fried rice were pretty good. But the star of the show has to be the lamb jhool momo. Both the choice of lamb and to have it with the jhool (broth) were recommended by the waitress, and it was an excellent recommendation! Jhool is like a very light curry and complements the dumplings perfectly

Went Nepalese for the first time. Starters, I had the Himalayan ribs, absolutely sublime. Wife had special pakora, equally good. For main I had Lamb Tusa and although tasty, the portion was child sized. Wife had chicken set meal, a rare combination, not sure what the watery lentils were, or why there was yoghurt which was left untouched.

Staff very helpful in ensuring we knew what we could east given our dietary requirements. Food was very flavourful. Set meal was a great balance of dishes, and the momo were so good we ordered a second portion. If in York again we would be open to returning for another meal.

One of York's hidden treasures, you could easily walk past it in the street but I strongly recommend giving it a go. Staff extremely friendly, food was delicious. Our dishes were full flavour and extremely tasty. We had never tried Himalayan Nepalese before so glad we tried it. Staff were knowledgeable about the dishes having not tried it before they were helpful in explaining dishes and advising us on dishes too choose. Chef happy to alter heat in my dish so wasn't too spicy. Extremely good value for money and 10% discount when the bill arrived, 10% off Tuesday , Wednesday, and Thursday. We will definitely be returning when we are next in York.

Beautiful food and amazing Veggie options! My friend and I shared momos and pakoras for starters and were in LOVE, especially with the achar dip. Then had aloo chana with yellow lentil dal and some steamed rice. Honestly it didn't seem like that much food but we were stuffed and so happy. Very friendly service, excellent food. The lamb momos are very good and I may have to try to learn to make them. I would recomend trying them first without the dipping sauce to appreciate the delicate yet flavoursome spicing of the lamb. Then eat with the dipping sauce. It is a pity I don't live in York or I would visit more often.

I've eaten here a few times and the food is always lovely. My most recent visit was a 5 star one, our waitress was extremely attentive and so kind. We'll definitely be coming back, especially since we left totally full and when we checked the bill, we both went "Ooh!" It was very reasonable and we had everything we wanted. For any first timers here, I'd heartily recommend the chilli chips or indeed the chilli momo.

Had takeaway from here this weekend, although it took a bit longer than first expected we were kept up to speed by deliveroo and the food still came nice and hot. The food we had was delicious, our first time eating from this restaurant. We hope that we will be able to visit in person in the future and get the full experience!

Never eaten Nepalese before, but had a wonderful initiation at this lovely little restaurant in York. Firstly, as we didn't have a clue, we were helped by two delightful staff. They were kind, friendly and genuinely wanted us to have a great experience. They helped with our choices and made it clear that they were on hand should we need anything. The food was fragrant but not overly spicy, and in sensible proportions where you didn't feel over stuffed when you'd left, just beautifully satisfied. Prices were superb too, about £60 for the two of us including a decent bottle of Pino. Would highly recommend this restaurant and when back in York we will definitely be making a return visit!

We went last night and what a pleasant little place to eat. The restaurant has a warm, cosy and relaxed atmosphere and feels like you're dining in a completely different country. The staff were friendly, and one lady in particular has fantastic customer service skills and is a credit to the restaurant. She checked up on us (but not too often) was really friendly, patient, and even remembered later into the night that I said I didn't like too much ginger. The restaurant clearly cares about their customer's experience in terms of not trying to cram in as many people as possible - because even though it was full, the tables were well spaced out and it didnt feel busy at all. The food was really nice, my partner and I ate it all and shared dishes between us. The only thing I'd say is that for the price, the portion sizes should be a little bigger! Apart from this, can't complain, had a lovely night and we will be back.
