A very nice, almost luxurious place. Fantastic selection of food, very tasty and reasonably priced. Staff was lovely and welcoming. Only the toilets need an upgrade to match the rest of the place.

A group of 8 of us came for afternoon tea on a Saturday and the staff went over and above to look after us, the food was delicious (not just your standard afternoon tea) and we all loved the decor and atmosphere! Will be back!

Dropped in for dinner on a Thursday night and we were some of the only people there. Pleasant staff and better than average service made for a nice evening. Food was better than average pub food, nice small menu helping to keep it simple but with a good selection to choose from. Drinks menu is out of this world, more cocktails and other drinks than you can begin to imagine along with good beers on tap. Definitely the place to come for drinks. Disappointed we couldn't use a tastecard as we hadn't booked in advance (as per the conditions) but you feel a bit silly asking to book when there is no one else in the place so their rigid adherence to this was a shame and cost a star on the review.

Came in on a Wednesday evening, staff were welcoming, professional and attentive but not all over you, just as we like it. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. We had the garlic bread starter which was beautiful and a very generous portion size. We then had a brie & bacon burger and cheese & bacon burger, both were delicious and served in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend to anyone and hope to be able to come back soon.

Love Biltmore, not the cheapest of places but such a cute place and good cocktails, can always find a seat and good atmosphere. After a minor incident beginning of last month the managers couldn't be more helpful if they tried and were very lovely about it. Also, recently my friend's phone was missing and a barman had found it and was keeping it safe for her which was very much appreciated. Gutted our work do we had booked here in a fortnight has been postponed but am looking forward to returning

We recently visited the Biltmore and left very impressed! The atmosphere was lovely, the portions were a good size and the staff were very friendly. We shared a calamari starter (which was plenty big enough), and had the buffalo chicken sando and Philly cheese steak and couldn't have been more pleased with the food. We would definitely recommend and will visit again!

Visited this place for a burger, and it was great. The food is well priced and the bar has a good selection of drinks. Ordered veggies nachos to start which were huge, like massive. Easy enough for 3 or 4 to share. Had the burger with mushroom and bacon and its was really good, tasty. Only criticism is the service at times was horrendously slow, the server who have us our menus never came back to take our order, we had to catch anothers eye to get something ordered. Would come back though.

The food here is absolutely amazing, I had the piggy back burger, definitely a knife and fork job. The staff are really friendly and the portions for the food are huge. It's really affordable too. It's a really nice and quiet atmosphere, since it's a little off the beaten track it's a little quieter. My cousin is also a vegetarian and she was really impressed with their veggie selection.

Visited the Biltmore on Saturday lunch time. Asked for a table and was told they do not do walk in bookings for food and have to book by phone. Although there was plenty of empty tables. We sat and had a drink and still plenty of tables free, I decided to ring while sitting inside. I booked a table for 15 mins later. What was the point of that???

Visited numerous times over the years but unfortunately my last visit was a bit of let down. Not due to the cocktails but the service. Our group of 8 ladies talking across a large table when we were sat upstairs being told to be quiet by management (we think she was part of the management). So we cancelled the cocktail trees and spirit orders and continued our conversation in a few other bars which were welcoming. Shame as there was a table downstairs in the main bar area but yes, what would you expect in a busy bar with loud music and more groups chatting to hear your friends speak. If I said the management seemed apologetic or bothered I'd be lying, so that's why we spent our money elsewhere. 3 stars based on previous visits. If I was basing it just on this visit in September 2021 it would have been 1 star due to the service.

Popular location In York , this is a larger space than the frontage gives away. Over two floors you are greeted with wonderful features like artificial grass flooring, impressive wine store, spacious seating and some impressive wraught ironworks. This was previously Elim church and the large open space is well lent to the bar. We sat upstairs and shared the views with a few large well behaved hen parties. Not your usual geordie rabble visiting York. The food was pretty good, the philly steak sandwich was enjoyed by our family and the accompanying side of calamari was nice, all came with a nice flavour some salad. Beers and wines are good quality and cocktails and trees full of drinks are on the menu. All said we had a nice family meal and it cost less than £90 with drinks for 4 of us.

My first time here, not bowled over in all honesty. At the time of our visit I world describe the place as being less than half full. Service was friendly enough, but the food took an age to arrive, a couple a few tables away had their food arrive just as we'd placed our order, by the time the starters had arrived, they'd already finished and left. The food was nice, but sadly one of the dishes didn't actually arrive and still hadn't by the time the bill arrived (thankfully it wasn't on the bill so just totally forgotten I guess, I'd normally have asked for it but didn't want another 40 minute wait for it to arrive). We also asked for further drinks which also didn't arrive. On the whole, good, but not great and I'm afraid that there are competitors galore on the doorstep.

My wife and I called for lunch today. The place was very busy but despite not having a reservation the staff found us a table. We got our drinks but had about forty minutes to wait for our food. We didn't mind as it gave us time to relax. The food was really good. The staff were brilliant and attentive. This is York a main tourist place and although you expect to pay more we felt our meals were good value for money. Well worth a visit although at busy times you may have to book in advance.

Really quiet when we were there around 5pm on a Thursday afternoon. Great cocktails which were 2 for 1. I always come here for a night out when I’m in York as it is a great place to come for drinks and a boogie! The atmosphere is great and they play a good variety of music. I booked a booth for 11 Hen's and pre-ordered a bunch of booze for the table. The size of the booth was great as it actually sat 11 people. The booze came out with sparklers on and the milk bottle cocktails were great. The DJ was awesome and played a good mix of music that was perfect to have a dance to. There wasn't a designated space for dancing per se, so we just danced in our little booth! There are only two toilets and one of those had a broken lock and light, so that could be improved. Otherwise, great place to spend a Saturday night. Thank you!

My sister and I meet up for our Christmas shopping day together in York. We have always gone here after shopping to relax and catch up. Their food is fantastic, all fresh products, great selection of drinks and brilliant customer service. They sell jugs of mulled wine, it's delicious, which always puts you in the mood for Christmas. Yes it can get extremely busy, but it is worth the wait. We've been going now for year's, highly recommended.
