My friend is staying here on respite care. She is happy here, but says the food is not always hot. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Since my review, my friend has since died, which was a merciful release due to her many health problems. Her last few weeks were very happy with very good care given. On her behalf, I would like to thank everyone at Byker Hall for looking after her so well.

This care home gets 3 stars for the aesthetics within the building.
Care wise, a relative of mine stayed here, within the space 5 weeks, became fragile and lifeless to the point we thought was dying, then needed hospital care.
This in my opinion was due to the lack of care and support from some staff members. There was more care from family members, as we were told they could not help our relative in our out of bed and chairs. They would not aid getting off/on toilet. Water was thrust in mouth and therefore dripping down face and neck, our relative (who at this point had flu) was told to 'stop moaning, it was just water'!
I'm glad to say our relative is still with us 2 months later and is no longer hanging out of bed or looking like they'd been sedated.
