My Mum has lived at Elmbank for almost 8 years. I have visited Mum regularly for 8 years and can not thank and praise the staff (many who have worked at Elmbank since Mum arrived) enough for their nursing skill and care in looking after Mum. I have always found Elmbank staff and especially the Home Manager to be honest and open in their communication and have always felt consulted and involved in the carefully considered and planned care for Mum. The last 2 years have been exceptionally challenging for nursing and care homes but Elmbank have done their utmost to keep relatives informed and updated. I was also overwhelmed when they assisted Mum to take part in a zoom call with my Dad for their Diamond Wedding Anniversary. A very special moment!
I was a Care Home Manager for many years and know to look beyond the ‘curtains and cushions’ of an establishment and focus on things that really matter. Elmbank has a homely and caring atmosphere and I have always felt reassured that Mum is safe, her essential care needs are being met and she is happy and settled in herself.

I have a much loved sister who has lived at Elmbank for several years and in all that time I have never felt worry about the quality of her care. I visit her often and have no worries with how I find her. If I did I would say so immediately.
Being advised by the hospital back in 2017 that it would not be possible to cater for all her needs at home was a big blow to us all and I feel so fortunate that among all the Homes we looked at that Elmbank was one of them. We were welcomed by Isabel the Manager who immediately understood our worries and reassured us that my sister would be well cared for and we have never had any reason in all this time to regret our decision. The staff (many who have been there for years) are extremely caring and nothing is too much trouble to them. After all this time, they are friends.
We all have our own views and I respect that but I can only speak for myself and say that I would not have the slightest hesitation in recommending Elmbank to anyone who needs to find residential care for a loved one.

My mum has been looked after at Elmbank for nearly 2 years. It has been a challenging time (with Covid) and the staff, particularly management, have risen to the occasion with professionalism but also a real sense of care and sensitivity. My mum is very well looked after, she is always clean and well dressed and is visibly more "well" than when she entered Elmbank (notwithstanding her mental and physical deterioration as a consequence of having Parkinson's and dementia). There is an obvious sense of real care for her and residents generally. I appreciate the honesty of Isabel and Susan (the managers) when things haven't worked as they should (which will happen at times in any setting). I value that that all the staff know mum and know the family - she isn't just someone who fills a bed. These are challenging times for nursing homes, but I feel fortunate that mum is being looked after at Elmbank.

My sister has been at ELmbank for almost 5 years and I can only praise Isabel, the manager and the staff for their wonderful care. I visit every week on different days at different times and have always found my sister well cared for and have never seen anything to give me cause for concern. As my sister is so well looked after I would, without hesitation, recommend Elmbank to anyone.

The staff do there best considering the strain they are under.
My Nan is happy and that’s the main thing.
