Reviews of Pro Jiu Jitsu

Great place to train. I trained here for 5 weeks while visiting from Texas. My wrestling and Jiu Jitsu greatly improved in the short time I was there. Coach Norbert is very friendly and always goes out of his way to help. Whether you are an expert grappler or someone new to Jiu Jitsu, this is the place for you.

Pro Jiu Jitsu is a fantastic BJJ club. I have been training here under Norbert Nowak for a couple of years and in other clubs around Birmingham previous to that. I must say that Norbi is a fantastic instructor with a professional and enthusiastic approach to teaching. The club has a great atmosphere and is always both welcoming and accommodating. Superb place to train.

Pro Jiu-Jitsu is a great place to learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! The people are extremely warm and friendly and the training is very good and delivered in a patient and pratical way. Professor Norbi is a good instructor with a step by step approach to applying technique to each stage of your development. He spends time with his students and supports them in class and also at competitions coaching them to achieving our best.
I recommend this club and know you’ll enjoy the great atmosphere and inspiring teaching!

My 8yo son Aaron (Mini-me) is very happy and proud to be part of this fantastic team, the staff is very professional and friendly, Thanks to Norbert from Pro Jiu Jitsu the method and practice of teaching is just top level!!

Great atmosphere in the club, every one is welcoming and helpfull, great bunch of guys who are training together to learn, share experience, progress and have fun doing that. Professor Norbert's knowledge, experience and teaching skills will improve your BJJ no time

I can definitely recommend Pro Jiu Jitsu!
Such a great atmosphere there. Everyone is very supportive and helpful. Professor Norbi not only has a huge amount of knowledge but also he knows how to transfer it to the students. Professional, friendly and relaxed.
Great place if you want to train BJJ.

I am honoured to train with Professor Norby since I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu almost 3 years ago. Based on his deep knowledge of BJJ, Professor Norby consistently delivers outstanding lessons and help all students to achieve their full potential in a very safe and friendly environment.

Training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) at Pro Jiu Jitsu is great. Professor Norbert is an awesome instructor. Highly knowledgeable about all the different techniques and aspects of BJJ. He takes the time to go through the small details which makes such a big difference to understanding BJJ, especially important for beginners like me. He is dedicated, friendly and approachable.
The team we have at Pro Jiu Jitsu is ace. The higher belts are always willing to help out the beginners on the start of their BJJ journey. They are always available for advice and guidance.
We have a great atmosphere at the club. We have events and seminars which take place and these are most definitely a lot of fun.
If you are looking to improve fitness, then Pro Jiu Jitsu will help you get there. The drills and techniques we do improve your fitness without you even thinking about the fitness side of it, so that is great.
To summarise, come and try out a class at Pro Jiu Jitsu. You will not be disappointed.
All the best.

I have been a part of the team for over 18 months now and my BJJ has improved incredibly. We learn techniques to cover all the bases of BJJ and get time to practice them through out the week, each new skill is broken down and Professor Norbi takes time to help each student.
All the people I train with are supportive and we help each other to learn. I can't recommend Professor Norbi and Pro Jiu Jitsu highly enough.

My two boys joined here earlier this year and are very happy. You're made to feel at ease if you're a beginner or experienced at Jiu jitsu. It's a very friendly atmosphere.
The instructors are very knowledgeable led by Black Belt Professor Norbert, the step by step techniques are well instructed.
My sons have learnt a lot in the time they have been there. I highly recommend Pro jiu-jitsu Birmingham.

I had been looking for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club to join in the Birmingham area for a few years, having participated in previous striking martial arts clubs, and found Pro Jiu Jitsu. I have to say that the club is the perfect balance of top level instruction at an affordable price set within an engaging and friendly atmosphere.
The club is super friendly and welcoming, with the head instructor Norbi's passion for teaching Brazilian Jiu Jistsu being his driving force behind the club, it is apparent that his focus is on his students excelling irrespective of the age and ability at which they join. I have enjoyed my 18 months at the club to such a degree that my 5 year old boy has joined the children's programme and my young daughter is keen to join as soon as soon as she is old enough.

Great environment to learn jiu jitsu with such a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere. Norbi and the other students are really helpful and will support you on and off the mats. Norbi is an amazing teacher with an eye for detail as well as treating each student like family. I am very lucky to be part of his family here at pro jiu jitsu .

Fantastic place to train, Norbi is super friendly and his level of knowledge and ability to instruct is superb. Great vibe at the gym in general, everyone willing to help and also have a good laugh. High recommend if you're looking to train BJJ in Brum.

I was lucky to train intensively with Norbi for five weeks. I really feel that in this short time my Jiu Jitsu improved dramatically, and I was able to acknowledge some most obvious holes in my game. Norbi is a world level BJJ technician and a great human being as well.
The training is well planned and structured, the techniques are taught very masterfully and put into the right context. What makes Norbi's approach special and successful is his love for teaching and a complete dedication to improve everyone who steps inside his gym. Every sparring session is carefully observed to assess the development/mistakes, give feedback and plan what to work on for the team as a whole. Combine that with a great vibe in the gym surrounded by great training partners — what else could you wish from a BJJ gym?

Great place to train. Norbi's own excellent knowledge is backed by a good crop of experienced and capable brown belts. The atmosphere is informal and friendly, and there are additional seminars throughout the year to help build the family feeling they are all striving towards. Facilities are always clean and the pricing is very reasonable. Something for everyone.

I live and train BJJ abroad and, as I was in B'ham for a month this Christmas, I wanted to find a gym where I could train.
I found Pro Jiu Jitsu on Google and saw it had good reviews and thought I'd give it a go. First impressions were positive. It's clean and bright with lots of space and softish mats. Norbert himself was very welcoming and allowed me to train as often as I could.
They train a mix of jiu jitsu (gi and no gi) and wrestling, with beginner and advanced classes, and also muay thay or kick boxing (Im not sure which). I found the mix of jiu and wrestling to be a fantastic way to pick up new skills, and see the same thing from a different angle. In three weeks I learned a load of new stuff, and relearned stuff I already (thought) I knew. All thanks to Norbert and his professors, and also his students who gave advice and tips when asked.
I'm an older guy, and although I train a lot, I haven't the speed or strength to keep up with younger guys, and this makes me mindful of getting hurt. I needn't have worried as there's a great atmosphere in the club. Not once did I feel I was in an ego contest or that someone was out to prove a point at my expense. Norbert's guys roll as hard as you like, but they're not rough, and, I found, were careful when applying submissions. That makes rolling fun, which means you can relax and learn.
And learn I did. There are some really good grapplers at Pro Jiu Jitsu, and for three weeks I was crushed, twisted, arm locked, wrist locked, ankle locked, strangled and other "wrestling stuff" I can't even name. I'm no newbie, but rolling at Pro Jiu Jitsu is a humbling experience and there were times I felt like a first day whitebelt again.
To conclude: I can't recommend Pro Jiu Jitsu highly enough. IMHO, it's a great place to start or continue training. Norbert (and his other professors) is a skilled, experienced grappler and a really nice guy, all of which comes out in his teaching, and in the way the club is run.
Well done and thank you to Norbert: Pro Jiu Jitsu is what Jiu Jitsu is about!

PJJ is great place to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, which is a reflection of Professor Norbi's personality. Here you will find no egos, just a group trying to help each other progress. This is a nice change from other places that I have trained at before.

Pro Jiu jitsu is full of great people . Professor norbi is an awesome personality who loves to teach . You will step out of that place with knowledge on bjj. Great investment .

Great team environment . It was very welcoming from the first class I attended with high level tuition from proffessor Norbi . Very technical breakdowns helps the technique to be drilled in situational sparring and live rounds. Proud to be part of the pro Jiu jitsu team.

Very welcoming club, Norbert is a very welcoming trainer and treats guests with the upmost respect and makes you feel very welcome. A great place to train with a friendly atmosphere. Thanks for the session, hope to be back whenever I'm in Birmingham or the surrounding area.

Came for my first session on Monday and I'm about to head in for my fourth session today on Thursday of the same week. The people are great, the atmosphere is incredible and Professor Norbert is a genius and always looks out for everybody.
I see myself training here for a very long time and it's something I look forward to each and every day

Norbi is such an honest, welcoming and friendly person with a huge amount of knowledge and as soon as you meet him he makes you feel special. I feel so honoured to be part of PJJ and to be learning so much from the best and such a great team. Everyone helps each other and everyone is welcomed with open arms. From the very first second you walk in you’re treated like family, there’s classes throughout the day and evenings to suit everyone’s lifestyle and the doors are always open.

Been here for about six months now. The atmosphere is great and I finally feel like I’m learning something after being at a previous jiu jitsu club. Top professor with a lot of knowledge, always on hand to answer any questions and help if needed. Would definitely recommend.

This guy norbert has it all! welcoming, friendly, and a suberb attitude towards his students. I started the start of febuary and have come on leaps and bounds already. Norbert not only teaches you your ground game but also incorporates teaching you some standing takedowns and defence too. Just to add the higher grade students are great aswell as they will always take there time running through anything that you are struggling with. Ibrahim suleiman👊👊👍

Norbi is one of those teachers you are lucky to meet, he will break down each technique and when people struggle he will take time to modify the technique for them, a really sound bloke/friend. On top of this he is world level grappler, don't believe me just check out youtube. If your in the midlands definitely pop down and learn from the best
