The Athena Teacher Training Course was a great experience! The trainers were brilliant - understanding, patient and skilled! The feedback sessions were very helpful and I always felt encouraged by the trainers. Excellent methodology, professional attitudes and a great mix of teaching styles! I'm completely satisfied with the course and would recommend it to my colleagues!
Thank you for helping me grow as a teacher and as a person!

An amazing course! John and Christine, are inspirational trainers, they guided us through a challenging workload. Intensive, as you will have no life outside of the course for 4 weeks but it is well worth the effort. As an experienced secondary school teacher, I was surprised how much more I learned about teaching at all levels. Additionally, the students at Athena Teacher Training are a joy to teach. It is certainly very good value for money.

Athena Teacher Training was invaluable for me. Not only did the teaching practice develop my skills a teacher and increase my confidence in delivering English Language lessons, but also gave me the opportunity to really understand what teaching is. Christine and Debbie were endlessly supportive and gave constructive feedback everyday that meant I progressed further than I thought I ever could.
As a university student, I have found that when looking for teaching placements for my year abroad, having this qualification has been something that has differentiated me from other candidates, showing the prestige with which the CertTESOL is regarded.
I could personally not have asked for more in a teaching course: stimulating, rewarding and also a lot of fun!

Athena Teacher Training has been a great experience for me. Firstly, had wonderful teachers, who introduced the course to us gradually by building in confidence. Secondly, the the timetable was optimised in a manner which helped to maximise learning.
The practise lessons in the afternoon and different evaluation techniques, benefitted us from understanding all aspects of teaching and learning.
Thank you to Athena and the teachers for boosting my confidence and making me a better teacher!

I have just finished the course at Athena Teacher Training and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had done some teaching English as a foreign language in the past, but soon realised that I had a huge amount to learn. This course not only makes you aware of your own language, but shows you the difficulties that non-native speakers face in learning English and the best way of getting your subject over to them. The tutors, John and Christine, are dedicated to their subject and quite inspirational. The course is very intensive and not for the faint-hearted, but I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who is serious about following this route.

The multicultural mix found in classes during teaching practice as well as the knowledge and attention of the instructors were among the things that made me thoroughly enjoy and benefit from this course. I had already taught English as a foreign language in Brazil for a long time when I took it last November, and can only say that it broadened my mind on the role of the teacher, giving me tools to deliver more student-centred lessons and help them develop their skills and confidence in the language. Also, you start teaching from day one and feedback is honest and highly constructive.
By the way, you also have the opportunity of being introduced to a foreign language (Polish, in my case), which puts yourself in the student's shoes and is a pleasure for someone who likes learning different languages.
I definitely recommend taking the CertTESOL course at Athena! Thank you, John and Christine!

I would highly recommend this course at Athena.
It was a very enjoyable learning environment with great support from all of the trainers! I learned a lot about myself as well as my abilities as a teacher! Amazing trainers, good facilities and lovely students! The structure was excellent and there was plenty of time to air our views or discuss new ideas!

John and Christine professionally delivered this course and never lost sight of their own humble beginnings as trainee teachers. They were empathic, patient and even in the most difficult of moments, when I needed extra help to take so much new information on board, they sat down with me and gave me the time and encouragement I needed.
They taught us all, to teach and become aware of learners individual and class needs and they catered to our individual and class needs as we became teachers. It was definitely an enriching process and hard work but when John said, we'd all passed, it was worth every hour we had spent on our homework. Would I recommend it..........Definitely..........You will be reinvented and laugh so hard, you will cry, at every painful growing pain.
