Thom has been working with our son for the past 15 months on drums. His lessons are fun and engaging and are based around what’s best for the pupil, their enjoyment and development. His passion for teaching and his ability to connect with our son has been very impressive. I would thoroughly recommend him.

Thom was recommended to me by the father of our school's 'coolest' Year 4 guitarist. We had to wait to get started since Thom was fully booked and I am so pleased we did because the lessons have been amazing. My son started during lockdown and although I wasn't sure about how online lessons would run, Thom's teaching is highly interactive and my son's progress over the last 6 months has been fantastic. Lessons are kept light and fun, expertly focussed on technical skills and teaching how to approach the songs that my son chooses and wants to be able to play. I receive regular, excellent feedback and advice on how to keep up daily practice. Above all I think it is the confidence that Thom gives my son that makes the difference. Thom has such a charming and cool teaching style, his lessons are always looked forward to every week. I've been so impressed that I am starting with Thom myself on the drums and look forward to posting another first hand review. I recommend without a doubt!!

I’ve been taking guitar lessons with Thom for three years. He makes the lessons fun and I enjoy learning all the different types of music he has introduced me to over the last few years. This exposure allowed me to decide what I wanted to focus on. Thom is always happy for me to make suggestions of songs I’d like to learn while also applying theory, which I find really engaging. He also sends notes after every lesson with what we worked on as well as other materials to help learn new techniques. Thom’s passion for guitar really comes through. He is patient, reliable and super encouraging. I would highly recommend taking lessons with him!!

Thom has been teaching my children drum and guitar for almost five years. He almost seems like one of the family. He has a laidback, patient style that works well for my children. My son, aged 11, has had lesson with Tom @ Home to Music, since Feb 2020. Although my son is musically inclined his tutor, Tom, has adapted to his musical aptitude. Tom can not only see a child's learning ability but the potential and capabilities to tailor the teaching to get the most from the child. Tom, has been absolutely fantastic adapting to the Online teaching due to Covid-19 very well. Punctual, well prepared and follow-up notes after every lesson focusing on key practice areas. My son has continued his learnings and progressed very well under the virtual umbrella. Tom is very chilled, amiable and engaging. My son is most certainly happy with the virtual lessons and with Tom as his tutor. This forum gives him the flexibility to fit the lessons around his school week. Tom, Home to Music, makes it fun! As a more mature student that has always had an interest in drummers and always wanted to learn to play I was apprehensive about contacting a teacher simply because I thought “will I be taken seriously” however I contacted Tom and he put me at ease straight away, fantastic way of teaching, super mellow and gives you want you want, weather you are like me and just wanted to learn how to play along to some of my favourite songs or you want to learn all the complex ins and outs, really cannot recommend this guy highly enough.
