I've been participating in my first English webinar with the Peartree USW Team and I'm loving it. I look forward to Wednesdays so that I can be there. Everybody is very enthusiastic, the class is well presented including multimedia helping materials. We learn everyday English vocabulary and helpful expressions for different contexts and situations. I was a student at Peartree Languages in 2017 not long after the first time I arrived in the UK and I still keep up to date on their Facebook page. I am very grateful to the staff who not only helped me to learn English, but also helped me to integrate into British society and built my confidence. The school's atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, an ideal environment for learning when in a culture that is new to you. All the staff including receptionists were very polite and friendly and always could find the time to have a small chat with students to make sure that they are happy at the school. In the beginning I took full time group classes. I was impressed with how Nicky broke down English pronunciation for us. Her sense of humour made me feel more relaxed when I tried to pronounce difficult English sounds and words. By this time it was the most important part of English for me as when I arrived to the UK I couldn't even understand a cashier in the supermarket. I remember classes with John, we all had lots of fun during our lessons and after them English grammar no longer seems like the impossible task that it once did. After a few month I took the opportunity to book private classes to bridge any gaps in my knowledge alongside attending regular classes. I strongly recommend to everyone the group classes as the teachers create a positive and friendly environment where every student will feel comfortable to talk , ask questions and make friends. Also the school's group events and activities help you to socialize and makes you feel at home. Personally I made friends for life from different countries in group classes and I was surprised how many of my new friends in Cardiff attended Peartree School as well but in different years. All my friends satisfied by this school. I currently work as a teaching assistant with kids with Special needs and communication with colleagues and children is a main part of my job. I really appreciate that at school we also learnt a lot about British culture and humour :-) and which informal vocabulary and phrases actually native English speakers use in every day life. To be honest this information you'll never find in your students books, to fully understand native speakers you need a good teacher. Huge thank you Peatree languages.

I am really happy with my progress in English at Peartree. Teachers are friendly, patient and there is a fun during lessons. Lessons are equally focused on all parts – speaking, writing, listening and reading. You can take a free test each week and we have a coffee time or a grammar class every Friday. I've worked there as an intern for two months, I had a very Pleasant experience while there. The students are very well accompagnied and the teachers really care for them. The Junior Summer School was really fun and along with the juniors I discovered many interesting places and did very fun activities. I know Peartree through working at the school as a teacher. The school has a really friendly atmosphere, with great supportive teachers. For students, I think it offers the best price and most flexibility in Cardiff. I did my internship at Peartrees Languages from April until August 2016. I worked closely together with a team of different nationalities. Both my colleagues and the teachers were always nice, helpful and have an easy-going nature. I was given a lot of responsibility during my internship which helped me to grow. I studied at Peartree language school from January to March in order to take the CAE exam. The school is very small but there's everything you need. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful, they always try to do the best for you. In my case, even if they don't have a CEA preparation course, they changed one of my morning lessons with an hour private class. Moreover, they organise some activities, such as a free grammar class. I strongly recommend this school for who wants to come to UK to live there but need a part-time course to improve his/her english. Moreover, the school found an accommodation for me. I stayed in a lovely family and I have still a good contact with them. Despite the cliché about the brits the food wasn't that bad. My staying was nice and after a couple of weeks I started to love Cardiff because it isn't a big city but it offers a lot of opportunities.

I would recommend everybody who is new in the city and needs to learn the language to go to Peartree Languages. It is close to the City Centre, the lessons are all very useful regardless of the level, they help you to prepare official exams, it's very cheap in comparison with other schools of languages and they care about everybody since the moment they cross the door, making them feeling important and as a part of a big family. I think Cardiff is the best place in the UK to continue my post graduate because it is a safe and secure city also the people in it are friendly. I joined the peartree school in July 2016 to improve my English. I stayed with a host family provided by the school. The families were very kindly and helpful with me. They were very close to the school. After I finished five weeks in Peartree language school in summer. I went back to my country. Then I came back at the end of October 2016 to Cardiff for four weeks in the school. Honestly, I loved it. The school staff and teachers are very kind and helpful. It has a friendly environment with all students. The school provides free morning snacks, coffee, tea, milk and free Wi-Fi access. Also, there is an hour every week called Grammar time which is free of cost and an hour called coffee time, the students sit with stuff in a nearby café to take lunch or coffee in the best way to practice English, meet the friend and make a good relationship with them. As well, I could not have forgotten the school sightseeing trips to Bristol, Bath and many places around Cardiff. Honestly, I met friends from many countries like Arabic countries, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Czech Republic, Japan, Brazil, Russia, Germany and Colombia. In future, I hope to come again to study in Peartree Language school or to say helloooo.

I went to Wales in February of 2016 to improve my English because I’m a postgraduate student in Brazil and I would like to study or work abroad in the future, the school suggested a mix of general English and IELTS classes. It was good because I learnt day by day a plenty of useful words and expressions and I learnt how IELTS works. The exercises and tests about IELTS gave me a feedback about my knowledge and now I know what I have to study more to get a good score. The level of IELTS classes is more difficult but it helps you to go ahead in the learning process. Also, it has been useful to my activities in the university because I have to read articles and to write essays in English. I stayed in a host family provided by the school in a nice place called Victoria Park. In the school the staff are very kind, my suitcase was lost in my travel to Cardiff and they helped me to solve the problem with the air company. The teachers have solid knowledge of the subject matter they are teaching. The school has a friendly environment and it's a good place to meet friends and to practice English during the break between classes or in extra activities such as lunch and sightseeing. I would like to give special thanks to my teacher Ms Uschi, to my personal tutor Ms Tereza, to Mrs Helen and to Ms Nicky! My personal experience in Cardiff was great and I will never forget it, I lived in a house of a kind lady that told me many stories about the Welsh culture and the city. There was another student in the house called Federico from Italy and we became great friends, the environment of the house was very friendly and we had good moments during the breakfasts and the dinners, we were like a family: me, my Italian brother and my Welsh mother, everything was perfect and funny! Also, I met very good friends from different parts of the world such as Turkey, Chez Republic, Japan, Middle East, France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy. I learnt many things about their life and culture and it showed me how to be a better person. The city of Cardiff is a wonderful place by its people, culture and history. You shall explore the city to enjoy your time in this place, it was only 4 weeks but I was used to live there. I hope to visit this city again and to see my friends someday, thanks Peartree!

I have been studying in Peartree languages for several months and I am happy to say that my English improvement has been amazing. I have been learning little by little with the English General course and the FCE preparation. I really enjoyed my time and learning at the same time. The teachers teach you in different enjoyable ways, practicing all the English skills: grammar, vocabulary, speaking, reading, writing, listening, etc. You can choose how many hours per week you prefer and there are different kind of courses. Every week there is a free grammar class or conversation class, very useful for everyone, where you can solve all your doubts. The teachers and the management staff are so pleasant and if you have doubts or you need to focus your improvement in any subject they will help you. They worry about your needs and in my opinion, this aspect is very positive and important. In my case, when I started studying English in Peartree my speaking and listening weren´t too good and I knew that I needed to focus these skills and they helped me with different kind of exercises and conversation classes. Thanks to my English improvement in this language school I have been the opportunity to find a job in my field, architecture. I am currently working in Cardiff and doing what I love. Before applying for architectural jobs in the UK I wasn´t able to have a fluent conversation by phone call and it was very important for me in order to find a job in my field. This week I can say that I have been my first phone call with a real client discussing about the layout of a dwelling that we are designing in my practice and I have passed the FCE thanks to the First Certificate English course in Peartree. I feel so grateful for everything! New goals and new achievements... Next aim: advanced level! I recommend Peartree to everybody who loves learning English: good teachers and staff and best people! I had an opportunity using European funds to spend a week jobshadowing at Peartree Languages. As an English teacher at a language school in Slovakia I saw many benefits from my stay and they have been fulfilled. From the very beginning I was welcomed by a team of friendly and supportive stuff, highly professional. During the whole week I could observe teachers´ work at the classes, assist them and discuss it afterwards. I had a chance to teach and get a feedback from the Director of Studies, Jon, which helped me to see my work from a different point view. Every day I was part of their meetings when managing their next days. Not only do they provide their students with different types of classes but they want them to experience more active afternoons, taking them to interesting places in the city and the surroundings, either learning something about history or just having fun. My jobshadowing at this school gave me a lot of fresh ideas for my own teaching, a lot of new names in my contacts and a great opportunity to practise informal language that you can´t find in the books and live a typical life in the country.

What I relly enjoyed is the helpful, friendly though very professional environment; I've been needing help after my internship to have some documents filled, and they did it even though my internship finished a month before. Hello, I arrived in Cardiff on the 15/01/2016 and stayed here for improve my english . When I arrived I was waiting for my host family Helen at the station . Helen is a very nice lady and nice do you understand very well . My host mum Helen cook very well some dishes . One day I cooked for Helen the italian pasta and she’s enjoy a lot . In my host family there is another brazilian boy the name is Guilherme. The first two week stayed at school in the Peartree Languages , where I knew nice people . The people in the school are very kind , the course is very interesting. When I finished my two weeks in the school started my work . My work is a volounteer in the British Heart Fundation , in my work I have to follow customers , answer the phone and help my colleagues . In the evening together with some guys known to school we organized some beautiful evening where we went to a pub for drink a beer or we went to the night club for dance and fun . Then I visited most places such as Cardiff Stadium of rugby , Cardiff Castle , Cardiff Bay , Llandaff Cathedral , Penarth and the City centre . Po tom co jsem pracovala ve dvou různých jazykovkách v Čechách jsem byla nadšená, že si můžu na vlastní kůži zkusit jak to funguje v zahraničí, konkrétně na stáži v Peartree. Doslova jsem se do Cardiffu přestěhovala aniž bych tu znala jedinou duši. Díky Peartree mi to však nepřišlo, jako že šlo o tolik. Pomohli mii najít ubytování, ukázali mi Cardiff, a když jsem se trochu usadila začala jsem si užívat práci v takhle malém, ale přátelském kolektivu. A i přes to, že jsme v létě byli dost zaneprázdnění, měli jsme čas se dobře poznat na vzájem s celým kolektivem. Všichni si navzájem pomáhají a dělají vše pro studenty i sami sebe. Díky letní škole jsem dokonce zkoukla většinu atrakcí jižního Wales se studenty. Co se týče zlepšení mé angličtiny, chystám se na zkoušku CPE, není pochyb že mi tři měsíce v Peartree hodně pomohly. Cardiff mě tak moc celkově nadchnul, že jsem se rozhodla tu zůstat a Peartree je stále jedno z těch oblíbených míst, kde se ráda čas od času ukážu. Doporučuji tuto jazykovku všem, co se chtějí naučit anglicky, nebo zkusit i jiný nový jazyk, a také těm, kteří se při tom učení chtějí dobře bavit a mít se skvěle.
