Love the ukulele orchestra at first chord. It is a very supportive group of people from all different backgrounds and abilities. Finn is fantastic as our esteemed leader. He's always got a cool arrangement of some absolute choons and is able to break them down to make it accessible and challenging for everyone. Sophie is bringing the encouragement and absolute joy. As a team they are so much fun. Always the highlight of my week!!

Ukulele night is by far my favourite night of the week! There is a number of things that conspire to make it so. Finn and Sophie have created a warm, friendly relaxed atmosphere in which you instantly feel comfortable and welcome. Nothing is a problem for them. With this precedent everyone in the group is relaxed and open. The group is an eclectic mix but diversity is our strength.
I’ve been attending around eight months and have a file bursting with music - some really great tunes. I have been delighted with the variety of tunes provided for learning. We played a small gig in December which was so much fun and showed me that the school values inclusivity over talent - they allowed me to play !
I cannot recommend highly enough. A delightful mix of ukulele teaching and social. Finn and Sophie work well together. Finn stands up front and Sophie supports and encourages on the floor. Come and join us - you’ll love it.

I joined the Ukulele Orchestra just under a year ago and it is one of the best things I have done. Having no prior musical experience I was a little nervous to play in front of others, but Finn and Sophie are so encouraging and the other students are a great bunch too. Join, you won't regret it.

The teachers are highly qualified, the relationship with the students is fabulous and in a very short time the students are able to achieve good competence. Highly recommended.

My self and my twin boys all take lessons with First Chord Music. The setup within CC music shop, is brilliant, tonnes of expert knowledge in that shop. My 7 year olds love their guitar/piano lesson and can't wait for Saturdays to come along. Great teachers and very patient, we have Finn for guitar and Tony for piano. I feel we're in super good hands in order for us to progress. I think possibly as an adult one of the best things I've done was to start guitar lessons which I wish I started earlier in life. Even more amaizing is our lessons are continuing online during the covid outbreak. Brilliant work, first chord!

Finn and Sophie have created something special with the ukulele orchestra. It’s a joyous thing. Finn puts together great arrangements for a truly eclectic mix of songs from classics like Harvest Moon to others that I don’t think you’ll find in most ukulele groups (e.g. The Undertones ‘Teenage Kicks’, Gorillaz ‘Feel Good Inc.’). Within the group, different sections play chords, melody, bass line, etc. to create the orchestra effect. There are always parts with different levels of difficulty to choose from, so all levels of player can be accommodated, including complete beginners. Sophie provides one-to-one support where needed. All are welcome. The only rule is NO JERKS! And as if that wasn't enough, at half-time there is always tea and biscuits. Highly Recommended.

I started guitar lessons here a couple of months ago and intend on starting vocal lessons as well. The space is lovely and in a safe environment, the teachers are great. Finn who teaches me guitar is very patient and on the ball with everything and takes his time in lessons. I really admire the work they do here and the passion and love that went into starting the school up. can not recommend the place enough they do a whole load of things and more is to come. check them out on instagram and facebook
