Our now 8 year old son started at AEGIS Leeds north around a year ago, and after months of watching him from the sidelines I joined him on the mat this year. It’s been a great experience so far for both of us; having something structured that both you and your children can tackle together is rare these days, and we both love our classes at AEGIS. The school itself is very well looked after, and very well organised. The instructors are incredible; skilled, passionate and driven. They maintain strict discipline but with a kindness and respect for all students regardless of ability that really motivates you to progress and inspires confidence in your efforts in class. Our son, on top of improving his fitness, co-ordination and skill set, has developed a level of confidence that is a credit to this school, and even in a few short months I feel a benefit in a lot of ways. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend AEGIS Leeds north to anyone looking to involve themselves or their family in martial arts.

The staff are all excellent teachers and really friendly. Our little girl started at Ninja Tots in the summer of 2021 and has progressed onto the Leadership course. Her confidence and discipline has come on so well and to see her progress has been fantastic. The seminars and belt graduations we've attended so far have been really well run and well attended. Would highly recommend coming here.

A very well run and professional Academy full of discipline and down to earth humour. It's run by very personable and approachable trainers who are highly experienced and deliver the lessons in a very hands-on, straight forward and logical way and i always come away having challenged myself, learning something new and knowing i've given my all... This place will get you fit, is a great place to meet new people, and learn a new life skill. You get back what you put in and all the Instructors are all extremely knowledgable in Martial arts. I can not recommend it highly enough. We all love it! My sons are 6 and 9 now and they have been going for a couple of years. They are both really exited every single time it comes to time for class and this is so wonderful to see as a parent. The personal protection side of things is brilliant, however it’s the hidden things which you don’t obviously see which AEGIS are so good at and it’s slipped in to the routine in such a way it’s unnoticeable, however they are life skills which are so important for all people, not only the children like confidence and discipline. After watching the boys train for a year or so my wife and I joined them on the mat to help aide their development, but also because we could see the positives AEGIS was giving them. As a relatively unfit 40+ male with a history of injuries to my knees and shoulders, I wasn’t 100% sure if it was the most sensible thing to do, however they accepted us with open arms and helped me train, even adapting things at certain points for me so I could still train. My weight has dropped, my strength increased and confidence has improved no end, plus the wife enjoy getting to Give me the occasional whack every now and again. AEGIS is not only our club it is now an extended part of the family. Everyone associated with AEGIS Leeds North have been nothing but wonderful to us along our journey and have been there to pick us up when we’ve been down and also leant a shoulder to cry on when things have been a little tough. Not once did I feel we were being judged and nothing but genuine concern was being shown. Thank you AEGIS for all you’ve provided this far along the journey and here’s to many more years together....

Great place to train. Instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. Really good with the younger children while finding a way to keep it relevant and engaging for adults. The kids love working through their positive start books and showing their new attitude in everything they do.

I cannot praise this academy or the instructors highly enough. When our son joined 8 years ago he flourished under the excellent tutelage here, it not only improved his confidence but his ability to concentrate and really engage with the class. Years later when our daughter was old enough I made the decision to join with her and it was quite simply the best thing I’ve done in years. The instructors are supportive, encouraging and not afraid to try anything which leads to a positive and ‘have a go’ atmosphere in class. Everyone is respectful and kind and there is such a feeling of family. Every skill level is catered to and it genuinely doesn’t matter how many times you get it wrong (in my case about 100 times a class!) only that you try again. The classes are also online so that you can practise any aspect of the curriculum in your own time. Additionally there is the Aegis Fitness classes which are an incredible workout. Master Tasker really takes you through your paces and Master Newsome follows this up with range of exercises that leave my body aching until Thursday!

Great fun for all the family! We joined in Nov 2019 as a family of 4 (2 kids aged 7 and 4) and we love the training (physical and behaviour/attitude) and the vibes of the team (coaches and classmates). The most impressive thing is how much people enjoy it, irrespective of their martial arts background (lots of experience in other martial arts previously or first ever experience)! A dedicated and passionate team of black belt instructors working amazing with juniors and seniors! Thank you guys! Strongly recommend to everyone out there to come and give it a go.... My son started here a few months before lock down and after they reopened I decided to join him in the family class. We both love it. The teaching is excellent, friendly and the classes are fun but challenging. And the team work really hard to keep us all safe in this odd time - so impressed by the steps taken to be Covid safe.
