I've been at the school for 2 years and have to say it's the best 2 years of my life. It's second to none. To get the opportunity to perform in front of the agents is a great experience and just to be in a really warm and supportive environment is something I will always value. I have also made great friends from my time here. I have grown not only as an actor but as a person and understand what it takes to make it into the industry. Highly recommend, you have to experience it for yourself. Thank you IDSA.

I can testify to how great it is! I'm having a ball and truly learning my craft and growing in confidence due to my great tutors (sure I have only completed one half term, but that's my experience) who know their 'stuff' and alongside a truly talented and great group of actors who are fab human beings into the bargain. I notice some very scathing reviews on here and hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I assure sure as 57 year-old who has a lot of life experience I have no need nor am I afraid to say if things aren't as they should be and I definitely do not need to curry favour with tutors for brownie points. Communication and organisation could be improved, hence the 4* Maybe my perspective will change, maybe not. For now I am having a valuable experience and moving forward in my practise. I couldn't even contemplate how I might consider a more 'traditional' drama school and that is exactly the point and the reason for Identity's concept. Without it people like me would continue to stand outside of the the narratives put before us, relegated to being observers and feeling there is no place for our stories or for us to be represented in let's be honest, a very Patriarchal, Caucasian and Western concepts and ideologies focused Industry. Life is what you make it! for me this is an OPPORTUNITY to finally be on the pathway to creating the life and living the dream I have ALWAYS envisioned and I'm grateful for it.

Impressive and practical learning environment with great teachers. The school was very accommodating and understanding when I had to change my class times before term started due to my work schedule. Would recommend IDSA to anyone looking to brush up on their acting skills.

This has to be one of the best acting institutions in the UK. The environment is so warm, training intense and results evident. I would thoroughly recommend it. Some people who complain is because they want to be a star overnight but those who are committed to the craft see it differently.

This has to be one of the best experiences of my life. It’s a warm and loving environment but the training is very intense so totally understandable if some can’t cut it. IDSA encourages us to build a community, where we become a family and collaborate. That’s what it’s about after all. As artists, we can get caught up in our own selfish world, but it’s about collaborating with other fellow artist, growing While building a team you can enjoy creating with. Before class, we circle and talk about our wins that happened during that week and I have never been more inspired hearing other artists doing what they love and going out there, putting themselves out there for this thing called art. I absolutely LOVE AND ADORE THAT. Most importantly, I love that this school is all about the work. Forget politics and favoritism, THE WORK IS THE WORK IS THE WORK. We are always asked at the end of a semester what we thought about our teachers, lessons given etc.. they care about us learning and becoming stronger actors. Finally, It’s a drama school NOT a studio but you’re paying studio kind of TUITION. Does it get better than that? Trust me I’ve been at almost every studio in LA and at IDSA you get more than what you pay for.

Good school for those wanting more experience. The more courses you do, the more practitioners you meet and more upcoming actors you work with. A lot of the process will depend on what you put into the craft. Some improvements would be appreciated though

How can it be presented as a black school yet have white teachers?, I don’t see race as in issue but the fact that some teachers treat the children less than themselves and bully individuals who want to be themselves in a school of arts is not at all the face of the school! Enough black people are already judged by social and political injustice and stereotypes, and to have a school to also do so is very much dissapointing. You can’t have black children “identifying” with people who have no clue of their upbringing or the suffers of being black in society! That’s something that needs a change! ASAP!

This school is incredibly wonderful. Compared to other drama schools, you can continue training endlessly and be paired with other groups of actors and teachers. Whenever I've had an issue, I've been able to email the admin and they've been really nice and quick getting back.I feel like I found a family here and cannot recommend this place highly enough for people trying to find themselves and their way around the industry. Literally all the best actors in the game have gone to this school and have given quotes hyping it up as well, we've had alumni come back and try to give back as well. There have been old alumni that come back to re-train between filming leading roles which is really cool! Being able to learn alongside people from every type of background is unlike anything I've experienced when training at another UK drama school full time.
