Taking online classes and the experience is amazing. Very good and experienced teachers with excellent command of technology to deliver the lasses seamlessly. Also, great response from Bea and Virginia at enrollments.

Best place to learn Spanish in London! I started a year ago at elementary level and now I am at advanced. I really saw a lot of progress in one year thanks to the great ways of teaching of Cervantes. Following only textbooks wouldn't improve you enough, teachers here use very creative methods and activities to encourage you learn more on your own time as well. Alfonso, Jose Antonio, Ana Ramos and Lorena are lovely teachers (I haven''t had chance to meet others yet). Especially during Covid-19 times online learning has been great and I could still continue online even when we are back to normal. It is very convenient and still as productive as being at a class in person.

I liked the Instituto's general approach to Spanish language learning and have studied both in-person and online with the Instituto Cervantes. While I prefer in-person language classes, the school quickly switched to online classes so that we could continue with our studies despite current circumstances. The instructors made the on-line classes as engaging as possible by using breakout sessions for smaller group work and encouraging all students to participate in the class conversations. The instructors seemed comfortable with the technology (Zoom) and were responsive to emails. Hope to get back to in-person learning soon, but until then, this is a good option.

Instituto Cervantes offer a range of courses no matter your abilities / time you have with friendly and supportive teachers. I was surprised at the range of options available when starting. Classes are interactive and fun and you get to learn at the same time. Have now been with the institute for more than 3 years myself and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking to pick up a new language. Since the pandemic, Instituto Cervantes has also restructure the classes / activities in class to be online friendly via zoom.

As a complete beginner to Spanish I found the initial 2 course really fun and engaging, our teacher Ana Alvarez who always has great energy always smiling, patient and welcoming. she also used a lots of different tools which made learning fun. I have learnt so much in writing and speaking within a matter of months. Ana is a fantastic teacher. The ambient of the classes are fun and at the same learning. I would recommend this course for anyone who wants to learn Spanish. It's a must for anyone wants to learn Spanish.

I have been studying at Cervantes for almost 2 years and i have gone from not knowing a single word of Spanish to being able to hold full conversations with people on a variety of topics. The courses are interesting and teachers often provide learning resources from different sources and not just following a single text book. The transition to online Zoom classes for the pandemic was seamless. There are some really fantastic spanish teachers here and i would recommend Cervantes to anyone who wants to learn and/or improve their spanish.
The class times offered are great for people with jobs and they even offer weekend classes for people that are busy during the week.

I’ve been doing online courses with the Institute Cervantes since lockdown began. The curriculum is fairly standard and well structured. I’ve liked my teacher Nieves very much. I’ve never done a course in-person. I hope they keep the online format because it works well for adult learners with children and jobs and things and saves at least an hour of commuting to and from class.
I studied Spanish in school but wanted to refresh and extend my knowledge. It got me motivated to try the DELE exams which they administer to benchmark my level and I’ve been pleased with the results.

Ana at Instituto Cervantes has been an excellent teacher, making the classes really fun and engaging as well as sending resources for us to look at during the week to improve our Spanish outside of class. I started my first course at the beginning of the year and haven't stopped since. Coronavirus has meant a move to classes via Zoom which has worked really well and made it even easier to attend.

I started Spanish lessons at IC in March of this year and have now completed five courses over 8 months. Initially these were classroom based but transferred online for obvious reasons. Mostly the transition was seamless, although I still have a strong preference for classroom learning.
I have found the teachers I have encountered (four in all) to be very good, and one exceptional.
I would strongly recommend IC. Their facilities in Holborn are very good, with a decent library. I look forward to resuming my studies next year.

I have just finished a 10 week course at Institute Cervantes and absolutely loved it! The courses are online now due to Covid-19 but the staff are so adept with the technology that everything runs super smoothly. There was still plenty of time for group work and conversations and the classes were so engaging that there was no chance of being distracted despite being on a computer.
It was my first time at a Spanish class since school, but I feel like I learnt so much so quickly and it all came rushing back. The teachers are really supportive but also push you enough to stretch yourself and really start to develop your skills.
Could not recommend highly enough! Fantástico!

Instituto Cervantes of London is the best Spanish course a language lover could ask for. All the teachers are highly trained and go up and beyond to answer any questions during and outside of classes.
The online course format does not decrease course quality at all. The classes are interactive, well-prepared to train us on all the critical aspects of language learning - reading/listening/writing/ speaking/vocabulary. Classes being on-line actually has one merit - the notes are all saved in Google doc, it is particularly useful for vocabularies that came up in the class. Homework is also diversified to train on all of the above skills, teachers will also assign creative homework like create a small post in Spanish etc.
Also, there are lots of resources offered to help us accelerate learning: a e-library with even audio books, teachers shares Spanish movie/TV series list and songs etc.
For those who wants intensive spanish training, their semi-intensive (the class which i was in) and the intensive class definitely does not fail to challenge us to learn extra fast. Even if I was in the intensive class, it is still fun and not overwhelming.

I have thoroughly enjoy learning Spanish with Istituto Cervantes in London. Despite the Covid-19 impact and distant learning, I feel that the institute has managed to make it work well. I'm learning a lot, having fun, meeting new people and plan to continue to my 3rd course next week.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn Spanish!

I am currently learning Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes on a weekly basis, having started as a beginner and completed two courses so far. I cannot recommend this Institution more highly. I have found all of the staff to be friendly and professional in their manner and the structure and philosophy of the course to be excellent.
The learning takes place in small classrooms with teachers who speak in Spanish from the outset. The course uses well constructed and interesting Spanish textbooks (solely written in Spanish) which cover relevant topics and introduce a good range of vocabulary from early on. I have made great progress and feel reassured that I am in competent and skilled hands that will guide me through an appropriate and effective path of learning. The library is also excellent and has lots of resources to explore (books and DVDs are available as well as newspapers and magazines). Plus...I am enjoying my weekly classes so much, having met some lovely classmates. It is true to say, as with any language learning, that considerable work and effort is required from the student between classes but if this work is done, it will pay off handsomely! This is a great place to learn Spanish in central London.

I have signed up for another course with Instituto Cervantes because I enjoyed the first so much. The class sizes are great, the material is interesting and you learn about the whole Hispanic world. My teacher was excellent, and was consistently the right balance of challenging and encouraging.

I started learning with the school at B1 level, after spending some of my own time learning the language. In the last year taking classes, my Spanish has improved greatly - going from a basic understanding and ability to listen and make basic conversation, to being able to speak confidently in Spanish (to whoever will listen) and watch films and TV series in Spanish too. The lessons have really helped me with my grammar and sentence structure, though commitment is required out of lessons too in order to really progress!

Started learning Spanish here 2 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed every lesson. I went to my first lesson knowing absoultely nothing and can now navigate my way around Spain! The teachers are fantastic and the courses easy to follow. Would definitely recommend.

The Cervantes Institute is famous for its good reputation and the high quality courses. I have been a student for the last 2 years and I am quite satisfied with the quality of services provided. In most of the cases the amount of students in the class is great and the level of the students is equal. Only in cases of course cancellations the classrooms might be a bit crowded, otherwise there is no issue at all. I totally recommend it, as the teachers are excellent and they do their best to finish in each term what should be completed.

I've now done 5 tutored online courses from both B1 and B2 levels. I've really enjoyed them and found them very positive learning experiences. Even though they are online, they comprehensively cover the different components of language learning. I like that you can go at your own pace, and the flexibility that this brings. I also find the coursework pieces useful, the feedback on these from the tutor is really helpful. They courses are very interactive.

I have been studying Spanish since 2016 by starting with the initial course until reaching the advance level and still learning Spanish at the institute. I have done my courses with different teachers, all qualified although you tend to have certain preferences over others. The library is free to use for students during the course and I have borrowed books and DVDs that have helped me in improving my Spanish immensely.
I would strongly recommend to learn Spanish there since the method is efficient but obviously it requires some effort and dedication in learning Spanish properly.
Update on 8th December 2019: I have finished my Avanzado 2 course and I am happy with the quality of the course thanks to the teacher. The possibility of using the library for free and also be able to download electronic books through the app makes the overall learning experience much better.

What I like most about the Instituto Cervantes London is the teaching. I think it is very important to have a teacher that makes learning easy, interactive, fun and also informative. I didn't just learn pure Spanish but by extension I learnt more about Spanish culture. It is important that you are not left behind and this does not happen here.
I strongly recommend the Instituto Cervantes London for learning Spanish from beginner level all the way to advanced level.

I took the elemental 1 course at Cervantes and I feel that those two-week intensive courses has helped me improve my Spanish speaking and understanding. And it has also given me the confidence to speak Spanish fluently.
Additionally, the teachers here are very kind and patient which takes away from the pressure of fearing that you are going to mess up especially, when speaking a language that is not native to you.
I would highly recommend Instituto Cervantes especially to those, who are looking to increase their Spanish proficiency. And if you want to improve your Spanish proficiency in a short space of time for an upcoming trip for example.
The two-week intensive courses are definitely worth it as you will constantly feel that you have learnt something new that the textbooks don't teach especially if you want to speak like a Spanish local.

I have just completed Inicial 1 and really enjoyed the lessons. The group was small and friendly and the teacher was excellent and really encouraging. The pace was fast and as a novice I found it challenging but feel like I made real progress in only 10 weeks. There were lots of opportunities to speak and listen to Spanish as it is really spoken and I liked learning more about culture in Spanush speaking countries too. There is also a free library with videos, newspapers and Spanish learning books that I loved. I would thoroughly recommend the Institute to anyone serious about learning Spanish.

A very well run school with an excellent library.
My six year old daughter loves here weekly classes and she has a fantastic teacher.
When I go to pick her up I sometimes hear the whole class singing in Spanish and see all the students leave with big smiles on their faces.
Highly recommended.

Yolanda is a gem, who teaches at the institute. She is a superior teacher demonstrating well, and a great teacher who has inspired me to continue in my Spanish studies. I feel really safe and happy studying at the Cervantes.. I highly recommend the place.

It was my first experience of learning language in a group and to be honest I was prepared for a not very pleasant experience. However, I loved the course! In 12 weeks we learnt a lot of vocabulary and even about Spanish culture and traditions. Lovely teacher Chus and great group. Planning to take other courses next year :)

So far I’ve completed two courses at the Institute and I travel from Bristol each week to do so. I’m thoroughly impressed with the level of teaching and I’ve found it more effective than when I was in Spain last year attending a school. The levels are fair and the group placement is accurate. I will be continuing my studies with these fantastic teachers !!

I recently completed the beginners class (A1.1) and was incredibly impressed - the quality of the teaching (Bea is the best!), the course structure, material and exercises, and the friendliness of all the Cervantes staff that I met.
Sign up! You’ll have no regret. You’ll come out of it more knowledgeable, able to converse and write in Spanish, happy after each and every class and with new friends.

The teachers are excellent, and the teaching materials are varied and interesting. I've done a range of different courses here and enjoyed them all. It's also great to meet such a variety of students - fun and stimulating company. Highly recommended!

My daughter Emilia, is 5 years old and has attended Spanish for children, beginner's level, at the Institute since Autumn 2018. She absolutely adores this class, she has so much fun and learns masses through games like bingo, coloring and easy exercises. Maite, the teacher, is lovely, super smiley and clearly brilliant with kids. We love the location too, the Institute is in a quiet alleyway that backs onto Temple Gardens and the river, away from the hubub of The Strand. It's lovely to walk around there while the kids are busy learning. It has put a definite positive spin on the experience of learning Spanish and we intend to continue attending in years to come.

The Instituto Cervantes of London is the place to go for Spanish language classes of the highest standards. The teachers are well qualified, supportive and innovative in their approach to language teaching. The Instituto is a comfortable, centrally located venue with a library and cultural events. It all feels like a little bit of Spain right in the heart of London.

I have been attending the course over a year and it's been a positive experience. The teachers are good and helpful. We not only learn the grammar but also have many opportunities to speak in the classroom.

I have gone to one course in Instituto Cervantes and then decided to switch schools. Pluses: great teachers and the level of students in the class is kept similar. Minuses: close to zero flexibility on times, catch-ups etc. If you miss a class from my experience it is pretty much your problem. On one hand this makes sense but on another side if you are a busy professional who travels for work this will be a challenge. Even more so if you need to take an end of the course exam without which you are not allowed to proceed. I tried to arrange alternative date to take that exam for a month because I had a trip planned and after all back and forth they suggested me a date after nearly 3months of actual course (aka wait until another B1 finishes). For me this lack of flexibility and substantially higher price were the breaking points.
G. M.
The best Spanish course provider in London with professional teachers and courses that prepare you for the DELE. The location is great and the institute is clean and modern. The courses require a set of two books that last throughout multiple levels. Definitely recommend!
N. M.
Did an intensive course here, it's really motivated me to carry on. The tutors are professional and encouraging. Also they offer a variety of times through the week/weekend. The course books are quite expensive, it's worth getting these second hand if you can.
D. M.
I just completed a 12 week course (initial stage 1) and have learned a lot. It is mostly ground work to get an understanding for the basics of the language before developing on to further levels and improving your vocabulary. My teacher Bea was always enthusiastic and eager to help.
J. W.
thoroughly enjoyed the 2 weeks doing the Intensive half day course. The course content was fun and we felt we had moved on well after a short period. All the staff........teaching reception and library staff were helpful. Look forward to signing up for the next course.
M. K.
The teaching for A1.1 Spanish course has been superb. Bea is extremely patient, and works hard to engage us in conversation. Instituto Cervantes de Londres has amazing tutors, exlellent course material, great location and a good course progression structure. I am certainly going to continue with next level course.

I have now finished the A1 level at the Instituto Cervantes of London, and I'm very satisfied with it. Top level professors who really care about your learning process, and try to make it as pleasant as possible! I will be continuing in September.

I've been studying here since A1 and am now nearing the end of B2, so about three years in total. The fact that I keep coming back speaks for itself. I've progressed a huge amount due to the small classes and excellent, enthusiastic teachers. Definitely recommend it!

I have started doing a class at the Institute in January 2017 (started with Inicial 2) and I have not stopped ever since (done 5 courses so far). I am currently registered for Intermedio 2, I have had 6 different teachers and they all have been amazing! All native Spanish with very clear speech and a neutral/understandable accent. I am very pleased with the cleanliness of the building (toilets, bins and recycling bins located conveniently around the Instituto), the library is also very handy to use as there are a lot of Spanish books and DVD's you can rent out to practise the language. I took one star away purely because of the amount of money they charge only for private lessons (£76 an hour and £63 an hour if you buy over 30 hours). Thinking that I currently pay around £300 for a 30-hour course and you need 4 people at least for the course to go on so that means the whole course costs £1200 so £40 per hour really. I would assume that private lessons would be around the £30-40 per hour bracket. I don't know how can they justify charging that much? Apart from private lessosns though all other courses are very reasonably priced and they also do some discounts which makes the prices even more attractive. Overall a great experience!

Have been taking the course since elementary level and am now on course to finish Superior 5. It's been a great experience and would definitely recommand.

My daughter loved this course for GSCE prep. The class size was small and the teacher took into account what each student was looking to get out of the class. We will surely take another one this year!
R. Z.
Their pivot to online learning during the COVID19 pandemic has exceeded my expectations. I love the online learning even more than in person and hope they continue to offer their courses online. Many thanks for that and for a successful DELE implementation!
E. H.
Really great quality teaching that is definitely worth the money and better than cheaper classes I've attended, and even during Covid-19 their Zoom classes have been excellent and consistent.

Simply incredible: If you are serious about learning Spanish, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
- Fantastic teachers!!
- Fast-paced yet very thorough and clear curriculum.
P. S.
Very good value courses with high quality teaching. Both teachers I have had so far have been very enthusiastic about supporting learning both in the classroom and independently and have provided useful advice about how to do so.

The teachers are great and the lessons include reading, writing, listening and speaking. The lessons are fun, informative and progress at just the right pace with a clear progression through the levels.

I'm taking the Avanzado course (B1) and it's been great so far - good teaching and a nice group of classmates. The library is good. There are a lot of opportunities to practise speaking.
L. C.
Email correspondence perfect , but when I called to book for the assessment , I had the impression the recepitionist wasn't very accommodating. I asked regarding enrolling and she stated" the courses have already started." I was trying to explain her that this wasn't the information I received when emailing etc. And if so, if there were any other option, trying to find myself a way.She went on saying "I said the course have already started you can only do the morning intense classes " .so there I lost it and said I wold have looked for another school."OK bye"
M. E.
I did the Intensive Course for 2 evenings a week to prepare for a big tour to Argentina & Chile, and the Spanish I learned literally saved my life, as we had to go to hospital 3 times during my tour! More importantly, I am a photographer, and my new Spanish allowed me to chat to all the people I met, make them laugh, put them at their ease, and get some great images - like these 3 taxi drivers in Buenos Aires on their break, drinking mate, of course! Muchissimas gracias!
L. S.
Challenging enough to keep me signing up for each next course. Good teachers, small groups, access to the library so plenty of opportunity to learn efficiently. Variety of courses for different levels and interests.
