If I had to describe Melrose in a short sentence it would be - Putting children first, always!
My child started just as Mini Melrose opened in November 2017 and will be going on to Reception this year.
I have no words to describe how much Mel, Rose and the team have all had an amazing impact on her, from the teaching to the attentive support.
My daughter has had different key workers during her 4 years at Melrose and each one showed so much love and care for her that I always felt at ease leaving her with the Melrose team because I knew that she was being very well looked after.
In terms of education I can only praise the team more because when a school knows what nursery your child came from based on their advance knowledge you know they did a great job. Making sure to hire staff with the right qualifications or assisting them in getting those qualifications is something I admire and as a parent I’m grateful for, this to me just shows an immense dedication and professionalism to seeing the children so well.
Thank you Mel, Rose and the team for 4 years of love, kindness and support you’ve had for my daughter and I hope to keep you updated with all her future achievements because it all started here with you guys <3

The team are brilliant. The staff are very attentive and are always cheery and absolutely wonderful to work with. The team handles all situations professionally and with genuine care. They work with the children and they teach them how to be independent. I am absolutely delighted that my son has been there from almost day 1 and he really enjoys going. This was the best thing I could ever do for my son. He has improved and grown so much just by going to the nursery.
The facilities are brilliant (especially their outdoor areas) and my little boy has loved attending. The meals made onsite are nutritious and they cater for all. When allowed, their extra curricular activities have been varied and engaging - from Dance, Yoga lessons, and sports (and more!).
The nursery is not just about playing with toys, it is about teaching them how to learn & bringing the best to the children. We are convinced that we have been given a very good start to our son's education and we are happy to recommend this preschool to everyone!

We have two children at Melrose, our son nearly 4yrs and daughter nearly 2.5yrs. I highly recommend this nursery! If you are looking for a nursery in or around North Acton you have to arrange to see Melrose.
There are several areas in which this nursery sets itself apart from others:
Their partnership with Mini Melrose, a dedicated baby house which our daughter flourished in, despite starting her placement there the June after the first Covid-19 lockdown. She had spent very limited time with others due to restrictions and was noticeably hesitant, even distressed around strangers and when separated from me. However she bonded quickly with staff, grew in confidence under their care and the change in her development was noticeable. The house is a perfect halfway stop between a home and the larger nursery and while I know several children who have thrived going straight into the main nursery for us Mini Melrose provided some extra peace of mind during a challenging period.
The main nursery is a spacious environment despite the plethora of toys and resources. It was recently refurbished to a high standard and is set up with the children in mind at all times. All food is prepared in their onsite kitchen by a chef who creates vegetarian menus which means the children can all eat together.
There is a different extracurricular activity everyday with carefully chosen providers which to me means that every child has the opportunity to shine, from dancing to athletics, tennis, yoga or football there is something for everyone. On top of these activities the children are taken into the garden space every day come rain or shine (unless unsafe to do so). This garden was a fun area before, but is now an adventure for little people, with a dedicated mud kitchen, playground equipment, giant sandpit and space for water play on warm days.
What was very important to us when choosing a nursery was that it would be an environment that would not only nurture our children’s interests and genuinely care for them (which Melrose does), but that it would also help them develop a strong foundation for the skills and independence needed in the UK schooling system. The dedicated pre-school room is led by staff with qualified teacher status (QTS) and while our son has only recently started in this room I have every confidence that by the end of the academic year he will be in the best position to flourish at primary school.
Staff at the nursery are fantastic and turnover seems to be incredibly. It appears that Melrose value their staff which means they attract enthusiastic professional practitioners with a genuine joy for their profession.
Engagement with parents we have found to be judged perfectly for our needs. From introducing us to the parents of children ours frequently play with, to being a sounding board for potty training, sleep or random fussy phases, it is clear that childcare isn’t just a business to Mel and Rose it’s a passion, creating a nursery that we think is second to none.

Best nursery ever! So lucky to find it.
Great facilities, lovely location and dedicated staff. Newly refurbished building with excellent facilities, Onsite chef sets this nursery apart from others in the area
Our son has been attending since he was 10 months old and his speech and confidence has grown. He was one of the youngest there at the time he joined, and I was a bit worried that he would require lots of attention being so young, as he had just started crawling and was starting a habit of fighting his naps. Even though he was very young, they helped him join in activities safely where he could, so he could learn and have fun.
He has made a lot of friends and has a good relationship with the teachers. They learn something new every day and I love that they play outside in the fresh air every day (unless of high winds) which I think is extremely important.
He absolutely loves his Melrose Nursery family and is always bubbling with happiness when we pick him up having had such a lovely time there. The staff have created a happy and secure environment, in which all children thrive.
This nursery has ticked every box for my child and I believe this is due to the fact that the owners, management and staff put each individual Childs' happiness and wellbeing at the forefront of everything

The staff are so lovely and genuinely care and love all the children. I was anxious about starting my little one but they made it so much easier for us both and she loves it! The managers are very accommodating and always available. Would 100 % recommend this nursery!

Our son attended this nursery for 3 consecutive years. During his journey he was supervised by 3 different caring and friendly key persons. They did an amazing job!
The level of care was outstanding. Members of staff not only watch after your children during the day, but they also provide useful advices/suggestions regarding child development (i.e. potty training, sleep training, healthy eating, etc.)
During the 3 years our son spent there, we could notice a clear improvement in term of administration and infrastructure. Entire rooms have been refurbished, kitchen has been renewed and secured, a brand new veranda was added. Mel, the new nursery manager/director, replies quickly to her emails and is very informative.
At some point, we had to change our son's sessions due to starting a new work contract. The nursery sessions times are well defined and we initially thought that our new schedule would not be compatible with the nursery times. However, we eventually managed to find a suitable arrangement with the nursery manager.
The price is average for the area and they do accept NEG15 and NEG30.
On overall, we would like to recommend the nursery to prospective parents.

After looking at lots of nurseries, this was the one for me! Never regretted my decision, my daughter loves it, clearly the nursery team love the children very sad my daughter is leaving to go to school, I wish she could stay safely with in Melrose until she is an adult, if only they had a school.
