C. M.I began Stripey Spanish Level 2 before Christmas and just finished -- my next Stripey 'class' will be Carla's Caminos, weekly walks and talks. Stripey Spanish is brilliant. Carla and her team are community makers and weavers of very original and imaginative classes. They make everyone feel welcome and they are bringers together of amazing fun events that teach you through doing. At the same time they are fantastic teachers, with excellent feedback and support and resources, encouraging, interesting and always do more than I could possibly have expected to make things happen. From watching films together to our mezcal night, and making tacos this week it's about real communities that talk because talking is part of living and learning. I just want to keep this in my life and I have learned so so much!!
A. N.I've done 4 courses with Stripey Spanish, 3 before Covid and in person and one more recently online and have always enjoyed the experience. I was impressed with how well the classes had been adapted to working online. Carla and the team put the same energy and effort into making it a fun environment to learn in as they do in person. The optional free to attend social activities both online and in person I have particularly enjoyed and found it a great way to put what you learn into practice.
J. G.Stripey Spanish have been fundamental to the success of my Spanish learning. I have been with them for 6 months (completing levels 2+3) and have seen my confidence progress leaps and bounds. The classes are very engaging and we have activities at the end of each module which are good fun & facilitate more active learning. The teachers exude patience, creating an atmosphere where you can comfortably give things a go without fear of embarrassment - essential to language learning! I am living in Barcelona short term and am able to function in day to day interactions, understand the context of many questions, hold basic conversations and make plans... tangible proof that Stripey is effective! L. A.I've just completed Level 3 and have really enjoyed my lessons - really fun and friendly atmosphere, with interactive activities and small class sizes (max 3) so lots of opportunity to speak. My confidence speaking Spanish has improved massively - which was the main reason I wanted to take classes - so thank you Irene and Carla!
E. M.I have tried to teach myself Spanish using online apps, but I've always stalled after a while so decided to try Stripey Spanish. I loved the social sessions and the classes themselves are fun, so you feel like you're making progress without feeling like you're back at school!
I really like their use of the Memrise app to build vocabulary between lessons, but having two weekly online sessions (once a week face to face sessions pre-Covid) has really helped to keep up momentum and is a fun way to practise speaking and grammar. The interaction with native speakers and the feedback on my progress throughout the courses was really valuable and helped me to improve.
I've now completed levels 1 to 4. I feel much more confident: I went to Spain recently and felt like I could really communicate in Spanish! I would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn Spanish.
UPDATE: I've now completed level 5 and it was the most fun yet. We had a 'Mexican night' and made Margeritas, then I produced a short film in Spanish, which felt like a major achievement!

I've just completed level one of Spanish class, as someone who is fairly new to Spanish I have found the classes suited to my ability I'm also dyslexic and Carla really took her time with me and was very patient throughout the sessions , it was lovely having other people in the class who supported and encouraged me.
I loved the little songs Carla would sing for us to remember the words
exp- como se dice ........ en Espanyol y como se pronuncia.
I would of never been able to remember that before this class.
This class if full of energy , fun, chilled and educational.
At the end of the course we cooked a meal together in Spanish, yep I cooked a whole meal speaking Spanish and this is only in level 1.
I cannot wait to see what level 2 brings.

J. T.I discovered Stripey Spanish classes last year and have now just completed their Level 6+ course. Because we were in lockdown the clases were switched to online Zoom classes. I have found them to be fun, informal and natural. They also organise regular online social events such as games nights and cooking events. I have even been involved in a cocktail making evening and made a short film, all in Spanish!
I have learnt Spanish in the past and wanted to brush up my language and communication skills. I have succeeded in doing all that and more! Carla and her team of native Spanish teachers are great, supportive teachers and I have met lots of new people through the courses I’ve done. They have also created a great, social community of current and past Stripey Spanish students who meet regularly at their social events.
Well done Carla and the Stripey team! I am looking forward to meeting them finally in person soon.
M. W.I started classes with Stripey Spanish just before lockdown and loved the way they approached teaching through social activities such as cooking and quizzes.
After a few classes we went into lockdown and I was blown away by how quickly and how well they adapted to online classes.
The teaching is done is a very fun and friendly atmosphere and at the same time the content is well structured and provide a good framework for beginners.
There's also a great student community who organise event amongst themselves for casual conversation practice.
Couldn't recommend Stripey Spanish more!
D. J.¡Que guay! I'm so glad I found Stripey Spanish - the social classes teach you in a way that's fun unlike traditional classrooms, and it definitely makes learning feel much more natural.
With so many free language learning resources online, at first I was a bit dubious to book myself onto a course. But after attending a taster night (Spanish Monopoly and free Sangria, what more could you ask for!), I knew the energy of the team was exactly what I needed to help me achieve my language goals.
Throughout the three levels I've completed at Stripey Spanish, I've made some lovely friends, learnt about Spanish culture and had a lot of fun. As well as that, I've learnt a plethora of grammar and vocabulary.
Carla and the team have done an outstanding job of converting to online classes for the pandemic, and have still managed to maintain that all important personal connection. Learning doesn't stop when the class ends - the use of apps, including specially made interactive vocabulary guides for each course, and helpful feedback from teachers means you really get your money's worth.
A. M.My first intro to Stripey Spanish was at one of the taster nights - I chose to take the plunge and joined at level 1. I've just finished course 2 and will join level 3 later on in the year. Lessons are nothing like the Spanish Lessons I had in school. The course and group meet ups are well thought out, lessons are always fun and engaging. Carla and the Stripey Spanish team really help you to understand how to form sentences properly and get you exercising your brain in interesting ways!
