My kids really enjoyed their day at the forest school, they found it the perfect place 1. to see how organic vegetables and herbs are growing, 2. being close to nature, and 3. experiencing and sharing fun games the natural way, with other children. We would really appreciate it if this can be done as a weekly session for home educated children.

Siân and her team of volunteers are fabulous with children, so kind, caring and knowledgeable. Lovely to meet other parents too and share advice and knowledge. My children get to explore and make new friends, with others who understand them and i can relax in the knowledge they are safe and enjoying themselves. Will definitely be returning and recommending.

Had such a wonderful day at Manchester bees forest school. Beautiful garden, lots of different plants and insects, with well thought out invitations to play set up. Staff were so kind, welcoming, warm and non judgmental, Sian was so accommodating to me and my boys, and Rachel is just one of the nicest people. Hope to come again soon

I took my 4 year old to Manchester Bees last week and it was so much fun! We played solidly for 4 hours straight! The market garden is a really beautiful setting and Sian and Daniel were so welcoming and engaging, there were lots of different activities to try out, different areas to explore, my son spent ages in the mud kitchen and sand pit, and there was a really chilled, relaxing vibe. We had a wonderful time and would love to come again! Thank you so much for the oasis you have created!

Beautiful sessions for SEN children. The location is lovely, but it’s the organisation of the team (Sian and the volunteers) that makes it a relaxing and caring environment for the kids. Even when 5 hours passes it never feels boring or forced - there’s enough of a balance of activities and open exploration. My 3 kids have had a wonderful time at these sessions over the summer and I can’t wait to return again. Thank you Manchester Bees!

Brilliant set up run by super-positive, adaptable staff. They had various stations for the children set up including water and sand and plenty of shade. SEND parents really appreciate this offer during school holidays. Thank you for your hospitality.

The most beautiful community space. I couldn’t think of a better place to volunteer, Sian is very warm and welcoming and the little humans are an absolute joy to be around. A safe space for them to be themselves.

We had a fantastic day at Manchester Bees forest school today. It was lovely to see my two children grow in confidence throughout the day and get involved with so much, including lighting fires and drilling! Thanks to Siân for making everything so accessible for my daughter, who is deaf. The children went straight into the bath when we got home, and the water turned brown with mud! That’s the sign of a great day!

I loved volunteering at Manchester Bees Forest School! Sian created such a exploratory, safe, free and community atmosphere that allowed the children to thrive and play however they wished. I learned so much from her, the parents and children. I think it was as much a safe space for children as it was for parents to share and relate to each other about having children with learning difficulties/disabilities. As a student studying educational psychology it was great to see how children learn so well in nature. I would definitely recommend attending or even popping in :)

A brilliant space for families to come together and explore the outdoors! We really enjoyed our time and there were a great range of activities and materials to keep children engaged, from roasting marshmallows to creating masks. This was a great experience for my two boys (one who uses a prosthetic limb to walk) and myself. The team create a really warm and welcoming environment and the activities are engaging and fun. We nearly got put off going by the rain but once there the weather didn’t bother us in the slightest! So glad we went, can’t wait for the next one!

As a trainee teacher I volunteered here over Easter hols and it was great. It really opened up my eyes to outdoor learning and lots of forest school techniques. I met some lovely people and the venue (Platt Fields Park Market Garden ) was fab.

Fantastic place to take to your children to give them a little break and disconnect from technology and screens. Plenty of fresh air, toys. We met with a friendly families and lovely kids there and responsive staff. My daughter was lucky to watch a fire been lit, roasted marshmallows and she also harvested some potatoes which she was able to take some home. Thank you Manchester Bees Forest school for giving us the opportunity to spend some time in the nature.

A lovely calm, inclusive, non judgemental green space with caring, friendly people. The staff were amazing with the kids and took the time to ask about their differences and how they could best accommodate them. Which as a SEND parent is amazing, they really want our kids to be included 😍. Also a fab range of activities, Would highly recommend 😀.

What a fantastic little gem of a find! Spent a wonderful day with Siân, making witches potions, exploring pumpkins, clay monsters and toasting smores over the fire. If you want a little outdoor adventure, I cannot recommend Manchester Bees Forest School enough.
