My 7yo son started at RGA around 7 weeks ago. From the moment we walked through the doors he was made to feel so welcome. With their friendly and engaging approach it took no time at all getting him to participate, which is something he has struggled to do at past attempts at different activities. The care and patience that is show to the kids of RGA is outstanding. The coaches / Professors are well aware of all the children's different needs and meet them to the best of their abilities while encouraging the children to reach the best of theirs. I would highly recommend this academy to anyone wishing to have their child in a family friendly and fun activity. I'm looking forward to watching my son progress in this sport , surrounded by people who genuinely do care for their academy members.

Great place for both beginners and more experienced people. Really thorough and detailed explanations of why we are doing things and a great group of people. Mike, the clubs Head Coach and Black Belt, is really knowledgeable and the other coaches are great too and really help with developing your game. There are kids classes and the second my son is old enough he'll be going. Great place to train with top class coaches and a great bunch of people!! Couldn't recommend high enough.

Absolute class BJJ academy! Extremely knowledgeable and down to earth coaches make the training enjoyable and not over complicated. Everybody i drilled/rolled with wanted to be there making them great training partners. Forces friendly aswell which helped me out loads while on leave and very much appreciated so I could continue my training. Definitely recommend.

Great Jiu-jitsu academy. My 8 year old daughter began 14 weeks ago and loves it. She convinced me to join up and it was a great decision. The coaches are fantastic, they work hard with all students, at the right pace with a LOT of patience. The coaches are the reason my daughter has enjoyed it so much. Nothing but good things to say!

Ive been going to RGA Salford for about 6 weeks and couldn't recommend it more. The Classes are really convenient around work and kids etc , the coaching staff are brilliant, knowledgeable and care about your development. All the other pupils are friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Wish I started years ago, its a great place to learn Jiu Jitsu , would recommend to anyone.

I have joined the 6 week program Mike and Damon were offering at the time and my expectations have been hugely exceeded. The coaches are all very supportive and knowledgable knowing what you need to work on at what stage in your development. Everyone you roll with is friendly and you get to have some fun while progressing your skills day to day. Highly recommend everyone to give Jiu Jitsu a try, especially at an academy such as this.

Joining RGA Salford was the best decision I’ve ever made mentally and physically. Was I nervous in the beginning YES! but within the first five minutes of entering the academy I was welcomed with open arms. Not only is there an incredible friendly environment at the academy, there is also a strong focus on professionalism and the push to learn jiujitsu from the incredible team of committed professors. When Damon told me to give BJJ a trail I never in a million years thought my son would stick at it, him being a nervous wreck and me being over protective. I can not thank these coaches enough for what they have done for Jax. Each and every single one of them go above and beyond and adapt to each child to push them to their full potential and given him the confidence I never knew he had! The way Mike guides them and encourages them until they are confident enough to go at it alone is like no other. And the rapport Damon has with every kid no after the age is admirable. Every single coach puts everything into it. He has gone from a kid nervous around other kids to putting 100% and running out of school desperate to go training as d putting everything into it. I would recommend this Academy to any BJJ practitioner from beginner to advanced. Prior to training at RGA Salford I had never done any martial previously I was a beginner and i did not know what to expect and was pretty nervous on my first day. The moment you walk you feel welcome and at ease. On my first day I nearly turned away but coach John and Paul were there who really helped me relax and talked through what I needed to do and shared there own experiences of their first day. The coaching is exceptional from a fundamentals to advanced from no gi to gi. The level of detail of technique from Professor Mike and the simplicity it's communicated to optimises your learning experience. What I found great was the professor and coaches works with you on your unique personal game which prepares you for competition harnessing techniques that best suit you. That first day was 6 years ago and I would not still be doing BJJ today if it wasn't for that day. Thank you RGA Salford.

Been at Roger Gracie Academy for around 4 months and I absolutely love it! When I was first interested in Jujitsu I was abit nervous thinking I would turn up and just get roughed up hahaha I turned up and all the lads were great! I’m part of a new community! we all want each other to grow! no one is out to hurt anyone! I’ve had two promotions at the academy and my jujitsu is really improving! Mike is a great teacher and very down to earth just come down for a class to see what all the fuss is about! I would highly recommend it!

This is a clean , safe and great school to practise Juijitsu . Professor Mike and the other the coach’s create a friendly and good environment to learn, and develop. The other members are friendly and helpful people with no with idiots sometimes found in other Martial arts schools . It’s also great for kids too , with classes and great coaches . Great place to learn BJJ where you will feel included from the first lesson. Techniques are taught in a way everyone learns and there is plenty of opportunity to roll/put it into practice in a safe environment. Including myself, there are ladies that train and everyone is made to feel like part of the team regardless of your sex, age or ability. If you have questions, get in touch with RGA SALFORD as I have always found them very responsive and helpful.

Unfortunately I can’t train here anywhere near as much as I’d like as I work away during the week. Luckily there are classes on Friday nights. Also on Saturday and Sunday mornings so I can catch up on what I’ve missed in the week. Prof Mike is great with me and my situation treating me exactly the same as teammates who can train all the time. It is a home away from home and you will be welcomed in weather you want to be competitive, a hobbiest or are just trying it out to see if you like it. I have a 9 year old son who trains and competes here as well. He likes it so much that he stopped playing football last summer to concentrate on his Jiu Jitsu.

I started training here a couple of weeks ago. I thought as a recently turned 40 year old I'd feel out of place. How wrong was I. What a great club. From Professor Mike down to the newest of white belts everyone has gone out if their way to make me feel welcome and to help me understand just what it is I'm meant to be doing!
